Excellent vid, great locations and filming. I was motivated to search for 5690 because she's coming to the Weardale railway in October on a special - the first steam excursion up the Weardale line for many years! Many thanks.

Great location and panning really enjoyed,passed Beattock many times by road in my working life as a hgv driver,would love to have passed it as a fireman

Many thanks Vic. Sadly we don't get many opportunities to see steam on Beattock, and with video the traffic noise is a bit obtrusive. I'm sure you'd have been rather busy as a fireman over there.

Deadly! Especially that really really long shot of the Beattock climb. You certainly searched out great locations.

Leander is one mighty fine engine. I was thinking as I heard the traffic noise about what is it that makes the noise of a steam engine in full flight so pleasing to the ear - musical and somehow talking to you (at least for people like me) but the noise of passing traffic is so intrusive? Would be an interesting psychological study!!!

Thanks Hugh. You're absolutley right about the traffic noise, but unfortunately I haven't yet found anywhere around Beattock where you can eliminate it.
