  • Fucking shitit's 6 years later and I still cannot believe his fuckign voice at 5 minutes on. he doesn't sound like this anymore man, those crystal clear bells.

  • shhhhhhhhh

close your eyes, open your ears, enjoy, feel and live the music

  • 7 Reggetoneros

  • 7 deaf people

  • his voice in the part at 5:05... holy shit...

i have this whole concert in really good quality. i really want to upload it :)

  • @VivaEmptiness420 I for one would love to hear this in HD!!!

  • Excellente Sigur Ros me encanta su musica es relajante.

  • Can some one tell me where i can see the Viõrar Vel Til Loftárasa performance at this show?

  • This Music is so spiritual... do you feel the same?

  • ... yÔu sHiNè Ä LìGhT øN mŸ LîFê...

  • I wanna see Jonsi play this song by himself in a church or cathedral

  • Comment removed

  • i can't stopo hear this song, its so deep!

  • I feel that dead silence at the end of this song would be just as good as applause.

  • 4:55 what a power and feeling in his voice. So moving and true. Donno the lyrics, and if there isn't any just makes it better tbh. It's just what you want or more like feel it to be. +++++ in my book =)

  • wow...è troppo triste

  • When i hear this i just know there is no such thing as a god. We the people make life beautiful, not an made up higher being you have to believe in.

  • @misterblitzer just because we make life beautiful doesn't mean there is no god. your comment makes no sense whatsoever.

  • @misterblitzer Faggoty is what it is. God faggots will burn in hell.

  • Brilliant band, great voice, words can't explain it

  • Yes. However, the concept of using only sound instead of words should not be attributed only to Sigur Ros, the idea has been around since music began, and can be found everywhere in music.

Alot of people have just been into the mainstream for too long......)

  • i don't understand Sigur Ros' music, while absolutely getting it. What I dont understand is how lyrics that are not actual words can be so moving and stirring. your brain registers what is being sung without your conscious brain filtering it with prejudice or any other limiting context. it seems pure language.

I suppose if an angel sang to you, this is what it would sound like.

  • @Wyrdmaven OMG you are so right!!! I could not have articulated it better :)

  • I adore and appreciate how quiet the crowd is.

  • IMO, no band like Sigur Ros has ever existed. Ever.

Pink Floyd and all other equally famous bands are all very good, but Sigur Ros is in a league of its own, all alone.

  • I definitely agree with that ,this guys make wonderful music ....

  • きっと、僕等とは違うんだ。

    彼等の音楽を聴く度に、神を感じる。。。

  • really great and sad, atmospheric...this end bring me to tears!

    thank you Sigur Rós

  • I cried.

    That was beautiful.

  • My god, the vocals starting at 5:07 are amazing.

Very literally laden with heavy emotion.

    Touching

  • 5:50 on gets me every time :'(

  • i think he sings this one even better than on the album! the end part is enough to bring you to tears!

  • magic.

  • come to Chili please!

  • Amazing....

  • Thank you Sigur Ros for this masterpiece of music!

  • Sigur Ros is like the best band ever. Just got the Hvarf-Heim cd, like from another planet.

  • ágætlega spilaði!

  • Would love to see this band perform this live in concert. Next time they are playing in Scotland i'll be there!

  • Scotland is weak

  • I'd love to hear why you think this is the case.

  • i would like to hear why aswell.

  • theyre icelandic broski

  • Haha, Exactly what I was gonna say...maybe not broski but it was a nice touch

  • Or maybe Pink Floyd of today?

  • From 5:06 to 6:21, I feel like I'm about to meet God. It never happens, which is somehow better, because then I can re-live it over and over. This is just devastating stuff.

  • I agree

  • couldn't have worded it better

  • Incredible

  • Exactly! This song does something to me profoundly spiritual. It's like breaking through a wall or breaking through the surface of water coming up for air.

  • Yeah, In some live versions in that segment it sounds like he is singing "you shine on in my eyes" which makes me think about death, and ascending to Heaven, coming face to face with God, and having him just say to me "You shine on in my eyes..."

    It really is something beautiful.

  • they aren't actually lyrics. he's using his voice as an instrument.

  • its icelandic

  • false. jonsi makes it up, and calls it "hopelandic". wikipedia'd.

  • Yeah man it's hopelandic. If you have the actually hard copy of ( ) the booklet that comes with it is left blank, supposedly it is for the owner to right in their own lyrics. The album is whatever you interpret it to be. Amazing.

  • you sat along the fire

    you saw the light

    your sigh flows low

    you saw the light

    you sigh slow

    you sigh slow

    you saw

you shine on in my eyes

you shine on in all our eyes

  • He wrote this song without language. The words mean nothing

  • Comment removed

  • yes, it sounds as if he was almost singing that in english!!!

  • @mimesis So true, the passion he shows in it makes it better

  • to jest moja ukochana piosenka;p

    i jest taaaaka cudowna

    bo oni są cudowni;*

  • Nicee!! Love them :)

I will see them november 11st in Portugal!

  • I'm stunned.

  • Simply The best!

    bETTER THEN ALL THE REST!

  • seeing them today!!! can't wait

  • i'm going to see them november the 17th in amsterdam :)

really can't wait. i'm going with friends who equally appreciate their music which just makes it even more awesome :)

  • no its icelandic langue and they are from iceland...PROUD

  • Going to see them tomorrow!! Never really heard of them before a while ago,my wife is bringing me but I can't wait. Been listening to them quite a bit. They rock.

  • the best musicians dump their hearts and souls into the music they play. sigur rós does that. you can see it in their faces.

  • The end of this song is fucking amazing!

  • I just saw them yesterday in guadalajara mexico, absolutely incredible!!The best band iv'e ever seen live!!

  • they are the friendliest people!

  • Love u Sigur Ros! See you in VIenna 8th Jully...

  • If god made music, it would sound like this.

  • jawswithpaws, best Sigur Rós youtube comment ever.

  • Its true though

    :)

  • JISSSS

  • @jawswithpaws I agree

  • @jawswithpaws STFU with that stupid ass God shit. Every time there is somethign great, one of you God faggots has to start in with some bullshit about God. There is no God, only faggots who think so. Fuck you. eat a dick.

  • @3GApps MAN, I agree with you. apart from the faggot stuff. I hate to see posts like " This is god's music" . Cant stand that shit.

  • @sandervandijck Let them say what they wish, just enjoy the music and worry about yourself.

  • @sandervandijck Is clear that you're not in the same channel, give them a try; nobody said was easy (in fact is pretty hard to like them), considere it like an aquired taste (like wine), once you cross the door, youll find the amazing experience and the beauty within, best regards :)

  • They're so fucking great!

    makes me cry <3

  • When I die I'm pretty sure I'll be hearing Sigor Ros music thru the speakers of the Heaven's Reception Lobby.

  • wow .... =)

  • thank´s

  • If anybody know this song lyric´s I´d be so pleased to tell me. i don´t know speak english --> i´m sorry

  • This song doesnt have lyrics, its sung in a type of language made up by the band. its called Hopelandic. Its all sounds that help better define the music all together as a whole. Its so the listener can interpret what they're hearing.

  • Sigur Ros is the music to every page of my life -- they're amazing in every way and this song,

has to be one of their best songs ever.

  • no , theyre comming to 'rock werchter' its in belgium :)

  • canceled a week vacation in spain , cause there coming here in august. really don't wanne mis it :)

  • do you live in norway?

  • most of the people i know just say "ah,sigur ros is too slow", but they don't get the power of this music, It's the most evocative music i've ever heard, I would say it's like a musical version of a painting of a landscape, that always change, as you keep going with listening...it's really amazing, some of the best music produced in the last years

  • no one i know actually listens to sigur ros. just slap all those people until they get it

  • the population of Reykjavik area is 200.000 of 315.000 pepole in iceland !!!!!!!!

  • that just shows that talent doesnt care where youre born.

315000 people in iceland, and they come up with this genius, then look at the UK-60 million people and the only person we've got who comes close to this is Newton Faulkner.

    just stunning :)

  • classic observation :-)

  • such an amazing band, so rare, so original and creative, which is not likely in these times. So so beautiful, i love Sigur Ros, all of their songs are so moving, and i dont even know what theyre saying most of the time! that takes a lot.

  • their music is just so pure... and very powerful

  • this is just amazing

  • This is the first video that's ever truly sent a chill down my spine. Probably my favourite song ever.

  • mine too :)

  • Too much beauty can't be possible...

  • Watch their film, Heima, it's stunning, they are so unassuming and geniune, a rarity these days. Complete musical integrity and passion for what they do, as well as being gifted musicians, what more could you want? My favourite band.

  • is that out yet ive looked every where, if so where do i look

  • Yes, its available at Amazon and from the sigur ros website, probably best to go there first depending where you are, there are two versions, the only difference is in the packaging, one comes in a package that has a book of gorgeous photographs from the film, its really worth the bit extra..I hope you can find it!

  • thank you thats awesome

  • i agree with you all....look at his face near the end...i havnt seen another artist that has this....hes ready to explode with emotions

  • Seriously -- he puts so much passion into his music, his expression = powerful. One of the best bands ever.

  • adorable

  • i love the amount of emotion in his face

  • Does anyone else think that Radiohead, Sigur Ros, and The Mars Volta would make a very nice tour?

  • man that sounds like a mind blowing tour, it should even be called that. But who would be the opener sigur ros or mars volta

  • YES!

  • that would be like the best tour ever

  • That would be the best tour of all time. Providing The Mars Volta some how got Jon Theodore back.

They just haven't been the same without him.

To willrich13: The question is not who would open but what would in fact end the show?

    Perhaps a mind blowing collaboration?

  • Whenever I listen to Sigur Ros (which I do very often), it makes me think of a line from 'the Lives of Others'

'could anyone who likes this music really be a bad person'

  • great movie...great band..great quote..cheers

  • Takk :)

  • incredible....so perfect....are that band unique in the world.... i love them u.u

  • His voice is really one of a kind..

  • i think sigus ros obscurity makes them even more special, out of everyone i know im the only one whos even heard of em, i know for a fact that my family and friends wouldnt like them, so it makes them even more special to me

  • that's exactly the same for me haha no one i know would understand this band like i do, they'd just make fun of them

  • Completely agree..

I saw a Sigur Ros gig just after Takk.. was released.

A couple of times of had conversations about best gig ever.. People always say the same shit like "Oh, I saw Red Hot Chili Pepers" and "Oh, The Killers.."

These guys are phenomenol.. I was blown away by what they produced that night.

  • maybe it's just their talent that makes them special. their obscurity makes them special? that's just pretentious.

  • yeh my mother is always like wots tht shite ur playin. when its sigur rós, she can never appriciate the beauty like we could. i love jonsi's voice

  • Takk, Sigur Ros.

    <3

  • i´m here again

and shout i have to go-help

i explode out and the peace is gone

i cry but you never come................................

    teresa narsiso

  • a fucking amazing band

  • it's kind of sad to think that not so many people appreciate this amazing music as much as we do.Some of my looser friends describe it as a psychotic, weird, boring,n nothing so special about it.They keep on saying how much they dont understand what he said which is wrong because this song is not about what they say literally. This song sont need words to describe feelings and it did better than words. If only they open up their mind another 1cm,

  • it's so nice =(

  • 4:50 to the end made me feel like I was gonna throw up and cry and laugh and explode or something.

  • Sigur R0s Rulz :)

  • They are magnificent. 50 cent ruleZ, or dj bobby.

  • I think people got my little comment a bit wrong. The meaning of it was that you can't use the word rulz to Sigur Ros' fantastic music. It's far more than that. If youre fascinated by 50 cent or whatsoever, you can use the word "rulz" - bit this icelandic band is far greater than that. It's simply magnificato!

  • i know what your tryin to say (i think) but your going about it in the wrong way totaly. i think youl find everyone has the right to use any word they deam fit to explain there feelings for the band. it wouldnt be my choice of word also but i think you should get down off you high-chair

  • I know your point man. My meanings are not to offend, just to make people just give a final tought about how the express it. It's kinda lame saying that everythings rulez.

  • fair enough. point taken

  • Well im not the kind of person that always use that word, i just expressed my self in that moment ;) **( im not angry for that, if someone reply that XD )**

  • Best band and crowd ive ever seen!

  • best band alive.

    yep.

  • fuckin brilliant!! these words mean something different to every person.

    amazing!!

  • Your comment is brilliant!

One of bests and inteligents i ever seen

  • they really capture a certain feeling and emotion to all their songs aswell, fantastic..

  • 4:50 to the end is the MOST powerful thing I've ever heard...

    I <3 Jonsi so much.....

Most people find this song to be saddening, but I can't help but feel uplifted by it. Incredible song.

  • Jonsi is the most adorable man of all.

and that song is the most beautiful of all.

  • i fuckin cryed

    this is magnificent

  • LOVE

  • I love sigur ros not only for their unique material and breath-taking emotional sounds, but also for there risks, risks that can only be taking by true musicians, risking, changing sounds, mixing and the change of vocals is just amazing...weyyy

  • gotta be a silent crowd at sigur ros

  • Truly,

    sound can exhault deep emotion.

    amazing

  • how silent do the audience want to be lol

  • where can i download the whole concert?

  • This is one of my favorite SR songs ( a friend forwarded the link ) and very special as I've never heard such an pure and emotional delivery from Jonsi before-being at home must've been part of it.

  • =D

Wow, thanks so much for this footage. I love SR and this was so great to watch. <3

  • Oh, no they were near Faye Wong. I wonder when she will start singing SR stuff.

  • Was Jonsi crying at the end?

  • ProjectWyze0135: Not at all, actually he was very tired from the jet-lag. The 2nd night they had to flight out late to get to Hong Kong for the following night's performance. Their music live - esp #8 of ( ) - is breathtaking! Amina is awesome too!

  • the presence of the crowds silence is moving

  • Utterly amazing! cant wait till their next album and tour! although next time i see them live im gonna try get a seat instead.

  • mind numbing treat

  • i am getting a tattoo of this amazing band

  • That's a great idea, I might join you in that

  • i might get one also

  • me too

  • I cried at the ending...UGh I swear.

Jonsi is just too great. What a great guy.

I need to see them LIVE.

    =(
