@Sara0K If it's ur first time, just be openminded. Don't expect warm hospitality. Parisians are just not like that, which is FINE btw lol. They are self-contained and independent.
The 2009 American version (same producer) NEW YORK, I LOVE YOU has the same format...short vignettes. It's also wonderful...great cast-directors-writers. My favorite is Eli Wallach & Cloris Leachman as an old couple. You can Google a full credit list. You can find the official trailer and lots of the scenes here on YouTube.
I've been to Paris, and I can't imagine them having "random interactions" like this, cuz they are not very open or friendly ppl.
In fact, I could have sworn some cafe waiter made a racist mock of me from afar, with his eyes (I'm Asian). I did not bring it on me--I was just at a cafe, being a customer.
@MeaningCorrupted very funny. Whatever race you are, I'm sure there's a terrible stereotype to justify treating you like crap. Ur sh*t don't stink, bub.
@sp4eva1 dude stop acting like a baby ok, put yourself in a black persons possition of a gay persons possition, they have be discriminated against for years to the point of death and torture and your crying over a french guy who made a joke? just say fuck you and move on with ur life you gotta be a little bit stronger than that to surevive in this world trust me because there will always be assholes like that french guy.
@MeaningCorrupted I'm not acting like a baby. Trust me, I get made fun of all the time. I'm a walking anomaly. I take it all the time. But I've never been in a situation where a grown man still does the "squinty eye" thing. It's pathetic and sad. I love irreverence and political incorrectness, but for example, I wouldn't stoop so low as to paint my face black to "make fun" of blacks; I'd think of something more original than THAT. LOL.
@cartwheeled i respect that dude. Yes, including me we're all a lil racist. But that was rude for the waiter to do that right behind my back like that. I hope he's a waiter til he dies, lol.
@cindyshealed Those were flashbacks, i think. They had already met before in the parking lot. And when she turned up to try and save him he just remembered all of that. And he got stabbed, I think.
@cindyshealed He gets stabbed by hoodlums and she attempts to save him because she is a paramedic. Yes, he has seen her before but when she remembers her it is too late and he dies. You should check it out, it is quite touching.

I loved this film - It was like having the most wonderful delicious 20 course dinner and La Même Histoire (also translated "The Same Story") was the perfect desert to end the evening with. I was so full, I had a good cry and took a nap!
There's a new movie coming out that is sort of a sequel to this but it takes place in New York, not Paris! It's called New York, I love You. Go look up the trailer, it looks really good. :)
OMG ! I cry also at the end of the movie; the song just ties the whole movie together and it reminds me of the times I've gone to Paris.... so nostalgic. I miss Paris so so much :(
I'm a little bit confused. So there are two version of this song, French (la meme histoire) and English (we're all in the dance). Does anyone know about this end credit version? Because I've been looking for this version but couldn't find it. Any help please. Thanks.
I got this version, I got it from Limewire, just go there and search "la meme histoire", it's the exact same version french and english. Beautiful song btw.
Probably my best scene was when Gena Rowlands and Juliet Binoche are fixated at eachother.. and Gena just raises her glass and smiles as if to say "I understand".. amazing..
i find it quite sad that they didn't show at the end what's going on with the two guys (the story from gus vansant, with marianne faithfull, gaspard ulliel etc.). it hadn't really a good ending ... but great film anyway :) i'm looking forward to new york i love you :)
that was a pretty humurous scene, i would have liked to found out what was going to happen when he finally did learn what he was saying, or if their love was beyond words and both felt the connection?
lovee this songs..and yea.its true it has so many mixed emotions..is like..it makes u thing that love exist...for sure...but where is it?..it is so perfect? it just a dream?..ehmm so on..
