  • Those front idlers look tiny. The pins & bushings look good, wear-wise. Probably a recent turn. Track links look paper-thin though. No bother, as much as this old gal gets used. Hell, it didn't even get used in this video! Since it's a 4T series, I'll bet that there's some olive green paint under all that Hi-Way Yellow. Maybe some Navy Gray. Nice old tractor. Nice vid!

  • @localcrew You went way over my head to begin with, very technical, you totally lost me.. ha ha

I have no idea about what makes these babies run, I just enjoyed filming it and admiring her good looks too I might add. I dare if she could speak, she could tell us an amazing tale or two, if only eh..?

Still Im with you, its great to see and hear them running in this modern age, long may she continue to Purr like the CAT she is.

    Thanks for watching :-)

  • @localcrew the ag tractors used small idlers for easier turning, didnt need to support a blade like the later tractors.

  • Хорошая работа, и в плане реставрации и съемки !

  • i was there what i amazing 3 days it was! you local to retford then?

  • @barnettboys13 Didn't go this year, but hopefully next year. No Im not local to Gamston.

  • @Bevoin1970 ahh hope to see you next year but this year was great!

  • i was there what i amazing 3 days it was!

  • I used to have one just like this tractor. My Uncle rebuilt evrything on it in the 70's and then I ended up with it in 1983. I used it farming but for what we did it was a little underpowered and would crack a head once in a while. Your tractor looks superb. Great attention to detail. I see you have one lifetime top roller on the right track, but I suppose those old rollers are getting hard to find.

  • Sadly it isn't my machine, how I wished it was. Q is what is a one lifetime top roller ?

  • Another excellent vid, that D7 must of had a fortune spent on it, it looks brand new. I noticed a starting handle hole in the front panel, I suppose that's when it's really cold and the donkey engine even needs assistants. I wouldn't fancy swinging that on a handle, how to break your arm in one easy lesson! Well done Paul, 5*

  • Don't be a chicken ha ha..... that's what makes life fun, will I start this machine or will it be the A&E :-)) He who dares !

  • Thanks for the info re camcorder Paul, it's certainly a magnificent piece of kit, and the quality really is superb. I use a Panasonic MiniDV camcorder that I purchased for £60 on EBay, and one day I may be able to get an upgrade to HD..one day....!!!!!!!.....Bob

  • Keep watching QVC Bob, you never know, go on treat yourself

    3 easy payments.. ha ha

  • I may do that Paul, thanks once again...Bob

  • She is like new.

    excellent job of restoration!

    nice video to see :-)

    Ciao,

  • Thank you, yes she is like new, I wish she was mine !!! ha ha

    Thanks for watching :-)

    Ciao.

  • What an amazingly detailed look at that Caterpillar Paul, superbly shot and the detail in just HQ is superb. I may have asked before Paul, but what camera do you use..it's one of the best quality images I've seen on YouTube...5* Bob

  • Wow!! thanks Bob, I use a HD Panasonic bought on a whim from QVC about £300. Mrs P told me to treat myself :-) I can certainly recommend it, it's a HDC-SD20 Full HD. I have found it, seems better to upload as a normal film putting the HQ tag in, the film opens up in a large frame by default, looks great I think. It's all free hand and I always enhance the colour and sound should it need doing. I don't have specific software only what's on the PC, & I don't save in HD when editing now, just HQ
