that was use in that movie named sintel it was really good if any one hasent seen it you can see here on youtube just tip in blender movie and you will get it
for many of the sculptings, i use Sculptris (open source sculpting software created by a member of Pixologic creater of zbrush). after sculpting, i bring it into blender and retopologize it and copy the normal maps. works like magic
@HereticsGen yes..... but it will be laggy depending on your poly count and the power of your computer. also if you leave the multires active it wont work... you need to click the apply button for animations.... for drapons i suggest you use bone animations
wait you can do high res sculpting in blender too? I don't have much 3d experience(I'm primarily a programmer and 2d artist) and I have been considering getting into blender.
@theNewCodingFrontier - Yes, the scuplting tool is much improved. In fact, I'm finding Blender to be a lot more intuitive to model things with than ALL the other 3D modeling packages that I've ever used. Definately give Blender 2.5 a try.
