it's a bizarre situation...

the embargo and travel ban imposed on cuba by the US serves as a good excuse for fidel's regime grip on power. and fidel's regime is a great tool for US politicians to manipulate fanatic Cuban voters in the electorally strategic state of Florida.

It's interesting to watch what is goind to happen when both, the embargo and the regime, fade away.

Hilary talks of a "community of nations" - Cuba's links with Europe are strengthening and they have an active role in the United Nations.

It is the US that is outside of this "community of nations" - just look at their foreign policies in Latin America and the Middle East.

What annoys me most is those Latinos in the US who are willing to trade in the dignity of their fellow Cubans for their battered prides.

Brilliant statement Paulo. The US is the one that doesn't pay attention to World organizations and their decisions when it comes to their vigilante foreign policy. And those Cubans in USA are the ones that were rich in the Old Cuba that were against the idea of sharing their wealth with the majority poor Cubans.

Cuba has also been a much bigger champion for freedom in the 3rd world than the so called land of the free. Unless you want to count the US bring "freedom" to Iraq.(that was a joke)
