The 8444 is a big loco so hard to figure out how close to get for the shot. We used to chase her quite often in the early 80s. Wish she was coming to Michigan for Train Festival 2009.
Can see where you want to see her again... this the first time I've seen her, and the last time I seen a living steam was in 91 and that was a Durango and Silverton #481, which is a narrow gauge loco, much smaller than the 488,lucked out to see it this time... i have some stills that my aunt took of this passing and also some in Roseville CA, when I get home I will post some....
