  • Hey, let's all not worry about the gross and profane comments of others; instead, let's pray that Jon's message in this and other songs will touch their hearts in a way that nothing else has. When Zakk Wylde prays before each performance with Ozzy or his Black Label Society and crosses himself, when Jon points heavenward, it's these things that inspire us and make us want to join Jon and Zakk in passing the word that there is a Power beyond ourselves that loves us.

    Peace,

  • Fist, I've play TSO's "Beethoven's Last Night" a thousand times; it's interesting that Jon does the vocals for Mephistopheles - the Devil himself. I have a feeling that Jon has stared agony in the face and understands all too well those screams in the dark. Naming his group "Pain" was no accident. Perhaps some day his magnificent talent will lead him even further into the Light. He WILL see Chriss again....but not yet. He is needed here, for all of us who care deeply about him.

  • I think it IS about Jesus; Jon often wears a large cross necklace. But it could also be about God - by whatever name we choose to call Him; Jehovah, Allah, Krishna, Buddah, etc. As Ozzy sings, "Too many religions, but only one God." I think Jon isn't over his grief about Chriss's death, and maybe he never will be; he's looking for something to believe in and hold fast too. It used to be drugs, and now it's food. I hope he finds the peace he's been looking for.

  • jesus never believed in my people...and yet I still believe, not in jesus; in the great spirit. oh yeah, Savatage rocks!

  • Personally I think this song is about faith in general. Not necessarily religious faith, just, faith. It's a very beautiful song.

  • Thanks Jesus :)

  • I think the point is everybody needs something to believe in. I am anti-religious myself, but I still believe in more than what can be seen. I think the song itself is more powerful and meaningful that those "christian" pictures can express. I believe that everything is "God", therefore if you believe in yourself, you are in essence believing in God as well. You don't have to be religious to "believe".

  • Actually the song is pretty christian. And it's written after the death of the vocalist brother.

  • Not exactly. The guitarist died shortly after the next album was completed. The appeal of the song is that it can have a Christian connotation, though it's unlike any other religious song out there and probably shouldn't be classified as a Christian song. This is my favorite song so yea....God bless.

  • It's from the Savatage rock opera, Streets. It's about a druggie turned saint

  • Wow its great to see so many believers listen to Savatage and by the way, even if anyone thinks this song is not about Jesus, go listen to Heal My Soul and while you're at it, buy every savatage album ever made and if you dont, do it anyway or die

  • Go to hell man.. This song is not about jesus. It's about faith in general, maybe for you that would be faith in jesus. For someone else it could be faith in his/her wife/husband etc.

  • Jesus must be proud..

  • thomismetal likes jesus in his butt.

  • Alright dude i don't know if that comment about Jesus was worth spending an eternity in hell. Wow man that was pretty sacrilegious. Oh well, its your soul

  • The Final bell begins to toll. Satan waits for your soul yeaahaah!

  • Yes? And? You have a point in there somewhere, I'm sure. If it's about faith in general, which may represent faith in Christ for the maker of the video, and they make a video about said faith set to the song, how are they wrong? The same could apply to a video about Buddha, Vishnu, or a video about a beloved spouse.

  • I'm not saying anybody is wrong. But I was responding to a guy(thomismetal) who was acting like this song could only be about jesus and everybody with a different opinion was wrong. I wasn't talking to the creator of this video.

  • shut the fuck up! Idiot

  • In a concert that I see in Rome,in 2002,Jon Oliva before to sing "Alone you Breath" pointed the finger high and said "this song is dedicated to Criss that now is in the sky"...I suppose that he believe...

  • i liked both of them but i like this one much more especially at the end!!! i think the song matches with ur idea! gr8 job! ; )

  • Thx ya basha for the comment :) i am glad u liked.

  • sorry i posted 2 cause i thought the 1st 1 didn't post

  • this song is not for jesus so don't ruin it .... he meant to put it for himself .... they never believed in god listen to album streets song called st patrick and you will get what i mean

  • just because you dont belive in God does not mean he does not exist.look and you shall find but realy search for him with your heart and you will find him or rather he will.

  • 1st of all i just want to say i love this song but this video is wrong i mean savatage they never believed in god cause you can listen to a song in album streets it is called st patrics and you will know how atheist they are and in this song there were being sarcastic and they were giving these for himself i mean i was making himself the way so don't take this song and give it to jesus cause they never ment it this way ... anyways it is a nice song so don't ruin it pleas .. tc

  • ??????

  • nice video and brilliant ending ;)

  • This song is proably the very best song i have in mycollection, that has kept my head higher than any song in the world i can think of. This tells the truth of the matter at hand, that's our lives and to Believe...

  • I like the song and the clip you made. I'm not sure if Jon means this about Jesus. But if you read more songs of him he wrote more times about it. Anyway, I believe in Jesus and I like this song very much.

    grtz

  • During this afternoon I was lost in darkness, but thanks to this song and the message that brings now there's a ray of light that is healing my soul... Thanks to share this video with the world and thanks God for the Savatage.

  • amazing song and the video bravo !!!!!!!!!! :)

  • I gave this 5 stars. Never have I been so moved by a video in my life. Believe has always been one of my favorite songs period and how you managed to put together the imagery the way you did is beyond my comprehension. Thank you and thanks for not being ashamed. Even many of the people who DO believe are afraid to admit Who they believe in. God bless you. R.I.P. Criss Oliva Your music lives on forever.

  • Hey :) thank you very much for your very nice comment, and yes i am never ashamed of what Jesus did in my life, i believed in him and he made me a better person.

I would like you to watch the other clip i made about Jesus, it is nothing special but i hope you like. Thanks again bro.

  • This song is about believing in yourself.

It is written on the commentary on their official website "he song begins with Jon and the piano alone, singing a song of tragedy and triumph, and asking both himself and the listener to believe, to believe in yourself, to believe in your potential, to believe in your worth, and to believe in the future."

  • this song is what you want it to be!!!
