The funny thing is, right when the song 'kicked' in, my little brother was running and fell to the ground. I was laughing because it was the perfect moment to fall. Bahaha
I set this as my friend's alarm, and she didn't know it. Needless to say, when she woke up the next morning, the look on my face was priceless when she calmly looked at me and said, "I just got kicked."
@reservoirdog93 Oh trust me, I wish I was one of those individuals who actually had extraordinary parents who would passed down a great legacy of music. But thanks to Nolan, I'd say I'm heading for a great taste. I just LOVE this woman's voice! And the sounds of the orchestra make it more stimulating!
literally cannot sleep anymore without waking up and analysing my dreams, not to mention whenever i slip or fall and wake suddenly, instantly whispering to myself..... "the kick"...
I love this!!!! I don't find it scary at all, I think it's really breathtakingly entertaining...anyone who thinks it's scary, I say...grow a pair!!! Lol!!
"No, I regret nothing." I'm learning about Edith Piaf in french class, and the only thing I knew about her was this song from Inception. She was truely a wonderful singer, and it makes me really happy to learn that Mal was played by the same actress who played Edith in La Vie en Rose. it's funny how things work like that.
@WilliamABoi It's not the full song but it's on the track " Waiting For A Train " , It's just a lil short part of her like from the beginning and then back to the movies score
Holy Crap. I've been trying to lucid dream (the ability to control your dreams like in incepion) and this worked. It is a very good mental cue. I find it works best if you set your alarm clock up to a headset, and set the alarm for about midnight. What happened in the dream? Crazy stuff. Walls melted, gravity shifted, explosions everywhere. After watching Inception, this song gets stuck in the back of your mind as a cue, and when played it wakes your mind up... Step 5 is Lucidity.
Why is this song selected for the main theme in the film? The argument of Marion Cotillard is interesting. So Nolan wants to have kind of "actress in actress" beside his dream in dream plot.
@littlemissargument Right, so it seems to me that someone wants to start an argument. I came on here to listen to the great piece of music above, NOT to be rediculed and insulted by implying my lack of intelligence, or the message I'm sending out. I really think you must have an anger problem. please take it out on someone elsewhere, not on this great video.
@littlemissargument you get a thumbs down as well for stating the obvious, that zimmer was considering taking it out of the score because of the connection. lol
Perfect choice for the kick song. Just lovely. Now it is my "kick" song (waking alarm). I just cut out the intro straight to Edith's voice because those trumpets would scare the hell out of me during my waking moments!
This score really reflects a dream - even when it goes slightly louder at 0:45 and 1:06, sometimes I'll just wake up and if I relax and try to go back to sleep a noise in my head suddenyl gets louder and I jerk awake again O_o
u freak out wen u hear this after u hav seen inception, the besty bit was when they were in the 3rd level of dreaming and they all hear it echo in the mountains, epic movie
I was listing to the full song with this in it, and the 'Kick' song began to play, and I FREAKED out, I was like I'M DREAMNG?! and I couldn't find out where it was coming from, until I paused the song. Most epic and dumb moment I've had. :D
I love it how this song is in the film because as we all know Marion Cotillard who plays Mal, Leo's wife, played Edith Piaf in La Vie en rose and won the Oscar for Best Actress.
@leeallen01 ye appaz chris nolan almost took out the song for that reason but Hans Zimmer convinced him to keep it in thank god, wot else song would they hav used lol its so good
@leeallen01 In France this son really pissed of some people, even if Nolan told (and I believe him) that this is just a big coincidence. I personnaly really enjoyed this music in the movie, especially when we hear it in the dream, because it is played really slowly and there this famous "VRRUUUMM !!!" that's terrifying !!
