  • POV-Ray rocks!

  • Haha.. Jupiter was in a hurry. Spinning about 10x faster than in reality.

    But good work nevertheless :-)

  • Hey!! Where the heck is Pluto? Solar system noob!

(noob being anyone who is new to the whole discovering outerspace thing and thinks that it isn't a planet too, still, even)

  • @originalprofundo

Pluto is right behind Neptune. Pay attention before you post!

  • @electrocatalyst lol...

  • Hey!! Where the heck is Pluto? Solar system noob!

  • It is not possible to make this project by POV-RAY :) ... Ok, I believe you, very good work, it was your thesis!?!?!?

  • @chesstiger24

too small for a thesis. just one of the ordinary courseworks. i've done more jaw-dropping animations in pov-ray. unfortunately most of my projects never get finished due to lack of time.

  • @electrocatalyst

I made a simple submarine for my computer graphics lecture, you can see it at my space.

This is a simple file, I am a beginner at the pov-ray :) but you are an expert...

  • Well jupiter should be bigger than that if jupiter can fit 1000 earth's in it.

  • @Replicatorz

    read the video description

  • Awesome. The music is fantastic. Where's it from?

  • @mattymnz

all the credits are listed in the video description

  • This is Incredible!! I Love Our Solar System.. Its so ... Amazing.. and yet so Fierce and Spooky!!

  • Apart from the earth's surface being backwards, nice job =] 5*

  • you use blender 3d ?

  • nice only jupiter texture suck ... i have use that texture to but finaly i find better one

  • did you mean to put the surface of the earth on back to front?

  • really cool, I'm not completely sure if this project I'm working on will ever come to fruition, but if it did I'd want someone to do something like this in it. If you'd be interested get back to it

  • *edit* me, not it.

  • how nice!! great video!!!

  • that is pretty cool

  • this was great!!, i used maya 8 to render my planets!!

  • als ich das mal ausprobiert hab haben sich die planeten bei mir nie gedreht^^

  • Really great! But you need to flip the Earth texture map. It's not so much that the continents are mixed up, they are just flipped left to right. It's as if the surface of the earth turned inside out.

  • Amazing! Wonderful video :)

  • mixed up continents ah i see.....well if the animation is saying WOW then i say WOW

  • nice!

  • sehr

    gut

  • how did u did this???what program

  • POVray... just like the title says!

  • POVray never heard of it in my life, do you use NURBS and polygons, subdivision?

  • no, povray uses CSG's only, although it also lets you create simple vertices and faces but you'd have to code your own NURBS or polygon meshes to utilize the povray's vertex faces.

check their website for more details

  • Very cool. I think the music is kinda creepy too. haha

  • great job!

btw the continents are all mixed up on Earth ;)

  • Thats great!! Good Job!

  • ooo that was good and kinda creepy

  • NIce and creepy... you know I fear this kinnda stuff about our end in a "Rolling Earth"

  • eeerrrmmm... i don't find it creepy but thanks for the comment anyway :)
