The PS2 RE4 also supports true widescreen over the GameCube version. Wii version has it as well. Also, the Wii and PC versions support multiple controllers. You can't destroy the torches in the PS2 version though. Overall, I think the Wii version is the complete package and the finest version. I personally prefer the PS2 version because I just like controlling it with the DualShock 2 controller. But I know for sure that RE4 HD hits, it will probably be the best and another RE4 addition for me.
And between PS2 and GameCube, the PS2 uses FMV for cutscenes while the GameCube uses the in-game graphics. For example, if you wearing special outfits in PS2, when a cutscene hits it will show Leon/Ashley in their default outfits. Whereas the GameCube version shows your special outfits. But I can't wait for the HD remake.

I have RE4 for GC, PS2, PC, Wii and iPad. I love this game. I pick the PS2 out of all the versions. It has the best controls (default) for me and it has every extras included. I think the iPad version is the worst, what a waste of my money......
The gamecube and ps2 are kind of the same but they worked longer on the ps2 one and you can play assignment ada and separate ways on the ps2 version and gc is easier for mercenaries.ps2 is hard like real hard in mercenaries.

The PC version has almost no contrast with colors and lighting, but it's still cool to see all of the creepy things before they attack you. And I heard the RE4 patch for PC made it look more like the PS2/Gamecube/Wii versions lol
The gamecube version was the best if you had just an SDTV that wasn't widescreen, but the PS2 version on a widescreen TV in progressive scan looked great, even though the cube version had more effects.
My favorite would be the Wii version with a gamecube controller and component cables.
It has Widescreen, progressive scan, the extra content, and the best graphics between all the versions.
You can notice that in PC the textures are better but the lightning just screws it up and the SHIT OF THE PC VERSION is YOU CANT MOVE THE CAMERA WITH THE MOUSE OMFG its just sad. But if you download the mouse ctrl patch you can use it. Still I got Geforce 8400 gs and cant set more resolution than 1024x768 AND I HAVE A widecreen that allows 1360x768

PC is the best the textures and lighting effects of the gamecube/Wii version running on PC hardware is an amazing improvement, also given the fact u can view in 1920X1080 res. The patch is amazing. The largest addition is Separate Ways, a minigame which revolves around Ada Wong's involvement in Resident Evil 4 and her connection to Albert Wesker. GC versions doesn't have this. Big downfall. and the only downfall for PC is PS2/PC cutscenes. Beyond that there are mods for XBOX controllers 4 PC
The biggest downfall for the GC version is it has that crappy letterboxing. So if you would plan on playing it on a next gen hi def set, then you'd be in trouble.
in a way the pc version is kinda the best, (don't worry im not a PC troll, im a console gamer and don't really like PC Gaming) with lots of patchs and mods it can be very fun, like getting different character models and weapons.
You didn't mentiond that if you don't want to play with the Wii controller, than the GC is best :) But if you like Wii, then Wii version is the best chiose.
@Zenka1992 With the Wii version you have the option to use a Classic Controller... I like the Classic Controller more than I like the GC controller . I should have mentioned that, though.
@tcope1231 Isn't there an option in the Options menu? Cause I have played REmake Archives and REZero Archives with the normal Gamecube controller, then they don't require sensors.
@kbrocks100 PC never had great graphics? I'm not a genius when it comes to PC graphics, but I'm running a computer with a 2.8GHz processor, 1.25GB of ram and a 512mb graphics card. It pumps out graphics at a close to xbox 360 level.
PS2 vs GC, essentially the GC should have better graphics, and everything, but it never did. The power of the GC was never fully utilized. Capcom and Nintendo games look great, but everything else looks worse than PS2.
PS2 vs Wii There are PS2 games that look better than the Wii, and the Wii is running almost 3 times that of the PS2. I'll keep it short, a GPU is expensive to develop for at the time.

I played RE 4 on PC and to compare it to PS 2 and GC its the worst graffical version released , PS 2 and GC are waaay to more realistic than PC , but it should be opposite. In any way the game is really good but the fun during game is waaay better on PS 2 or GC.

Well, with the v1.1 patch, cdiddy7 bloom v2.2 mod and the enb series mod, the graphics of Resident Evil 4 for PC looks better than all its console versions, I must say!!! So if you don't have any consoles but only a PC and feel depressed because you can't play such awesome game as good as the console versions, than don't worry because the mentioned mods and patches will help you enjoy a REAL, CREEPY, HORROR ADVENTURE in the world of RESIDENT EVIL 4 !!!!!!

The PC version has almost no contrast with colors and lighting, but it's still cool to see all of the creepy things before they attack you. And I heard the RE4 patch for PC made it look more like the PS2/Gamecube/Wii versions lol

The lighting is a little better and brighter on the gamecube. However I think the detail on the ps2 version is better. But they are both good.

The gamecube version was the best if you had just an SDTV that wasn't widescreen, but the PS2 version on a widescreen TV in progressive scan looked great, even though the cube version had more effects.
My favorite would be the Wii version with a gamecube controller and component cables.
It has Widescreen, progressive scan, the extra content, and the best graphics between all the versions.

You can notice that in PC the textures are better but the lightning just screws it up and the SHIT OF THE PC VERSION is YOU CANT MOVE THE CAMERA WITH THE MOUSE OMFG its just sad. But if you download the mouse ctrl patch you can use it. Still I got Geforce 8400 gs and cant set more resolution than 1024x768 AND I HAVE A widecreen that allows 1360x768

PC is the best the textures and lighting effects of the gamecube/Wii version running on PC hardware is an amazing improvement, also given the fact u can view in 1920X1080 res. The patch is amazing. The largest addition is Separate Ways, a minigame which revolves around Ada Wong's involvement in Resident Evil 4 and her connection to Albert Wesker. GC versions doesn't have this. Big downfall. and the only downfall for PC is PS2/PC cutscenes. Beyond that there are mods for XBOX controllers 4 PC

The biggest downfall for the GC version is it has that crappy letterboxing. So if you would plan on playing it on a next gen hi def set, then you'd be in trouble.

PC - visually and mechanically the worst
PS2 - visually better than the PC, but lacking in mechanics and a few textures, and graphic styling.
GC - Best mechanics and graphics, including sprites, textures, etc.
Wii - best mechanics, little to no change in graphics from GC.
Overall best: Wii. Incorporates PS2 and GC content, with a PS2 quality Separate Ways, and you CAN tell.

@kbrocks100 PC never had great graphics? I'm not a genius when it comes to PC graphics, but I'm running a computer with a 2.8GHz processor, 1.25GB of ram and a 512mb graphics card. It pumps out graphics at a close to xbox 360 level.
PS2- CPU runs @ 299MHz
GC - CPU runs @ 486MHz Display runs at 162 MHz
Wii - CPU runs @ 729MHz/GPU @ 243MHz
360 - CPU runs @ 3.2 Ghz

PS2 vs GC, essentially the GC should have better graphics, and everything, but it never did. The power of the GC was never fully utilized. Capcom and Nintendo games look great, but everything else looks worse than PS2.
PS2 vs Wii There are PS2 games that look better than the Wii, and the Wii is running almost 3 times that of the PS2. I'll keep it short, a GPU is expensive to develop for at the time.

first we did get the ps2 version. but guess what? we can run it at a hi def resolution with anti aliasing and all the same effects that the gamecube had.
second, the north american version was already patched before it was released. it was the euro copy which had all the lighting effects missing. so you fail.

I used to prefer playing nearly everything on PC over consoles (apart from fighters, good luck trying to pull off a Messatsu GouHadou on a keyboard), but the support there nowadays is lackluster, plagued with incompetent developers who think it's okay to release a game and patch it later for the masses, using a slightly higher resolution and P2P servers for PC ports of console games, hell, some studios refuse to pledge support at all due to rampant PIRACY.

Get it for the wii emulator on pc and play it or play the gamecube version on the dolphin will emulator, that also looks much better on pc.
Don't play the pc port play the console versions emulated on pc for better than console results!
In the end pc + emulator + higher resolution = pc wins in the end!
