  • People, if you change it to windows xp (service pack2) and It says that you have to do D2vidtst or something like that, then just do the same thing what he did in the end of the video. Just type -window. Hopefully you understand what I mean, if not, ask me for better explanation :)

  • @AmnesiaEdits Me neither, had to reinstall the game.

  • EVERYONE I HAVE A MUCH BETTER FIX TO THISPROBLEM!! Watch my video it will help you out a lot more than this, ive watched this guys vid and most of the stuff he tells you to do is unessasary shit! go to my channel and find diablo 2 color fix!

  • Thank you !

  • I FUCKING LOVE U TY lol

  • Ok, so I did all that D2 Shortcut, Properties ,etc etc. It does the same thing as before : The Program Compatibility Assistant opens and says I have to check for solutions online then I check for solutions I gotta contact blizz (cba.), SO I run the program and guess what, black screen with a white line on the top left corner of the screen =.=... Wth am I supposed to do?xD

  • @sonycasda Having Exact same problem.

  • Gyuz u wanna play Diablo 2 in fullscreen mode? Try bringing up a task manager window and go in to processes tab. There just kill explorer.exe. Then go start new appliacation diablo 2.exe from where u installed it. U don't have to type -window in target. Just make sure u have right compatible mode (winXP or less). Works fine for me. Enjoy!:)

  • 2 problems with me doing this

1st: Bringing up the screen resolution dosn't work for me..

2nd: with -window it cuts out the cinematic scenes - the story and experience of the story in the game..

  • Thank YOU *----*

  • how do u fix it where u can play on full screen insteaad of a little window

  • hahah lol, this was one awsome fix. Thx alot m8

  • ANOTHER FIX if this doesnt work-

go to personalization settings and select high contrast black... THEN leave the resolution screen up while running the game. this works for me

  • This Is such a simple fix you will slap yourself

Left click Diablo 2 shortcut> Properties> compatibility; then put on windows Xp (service pack 2), check Disable video composition APPLY

Then (this is the important part) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

    Go to Start>All programs>Diablo2>Video Test

after you run the video test it will work

  • @melmel1990 doesn't work for me :(

  • @melmel1990 You sir, deserve a long, well earned blow job xD

  • @melmel1990 i did like this i press diablo 2 shorcut than press right click press troubleshoot than did that xp service pack 2 than start the game and evrey thing was k :D but i had a problem i cant start the game antil i did this :D

  • @melmel1990 you are the reason why the internet exists.THANK YOU

  • All I did was run the video test (D2VidTst.exe) and set the video mode to Direct3d instead of DirectDraw. I didn't have to change anything else and it works every time on Win7 64bit.

  • @melmel1990 THANKS BRODAH :D!!!!

  • @melmel1990 Thanks, worked perfectly.

  • @melmel1990 thanks man, totally worked! full screen too!!

  • @melmel1990 YEAHHH !

  • @melmel1990 can disable video composition be disable desktop composition?

  • @chopinater Yeah sorry; it is Disable Desktop Composition. I'm Not sure if the those steps are necessary, that is just what I did, but i know for sure it doesn't work unless you Run the video test.

  • @melmel1990 I still get "unhandled exception: access_violation (c0000005)"

  • @TheSebas71 if ur getting an error like that, you might want to try reinstalling the game, thats n ot a graphics problem.I also havea better fix then thisvideo, so you sould check out my video as it may help you out

  • @TheDJayCafe i tried evrything cant make it work

  • @TheSebas71 got the same i tried mostly evrything last time remain is edit the entire game script ....

  • @melmel1990 THANK YOU sooo much.

  • @melmel1990 what if you have service pack 1?

  • I love you for this, man!

  • Just sayin, people who don't understand why there are compatibility issues this is why. The games were created to work with the operating system that was in use at the time. Its not that there is any problem with windows 7.

  • It worked!

  • HEY MINE IS JUST DIABLO 2 NOT LORD OF DESTRUCTION WILL THIS STILL WORK?

  • @MultiJb1000 yes

  • wow thanks! this is amazing!! your'e so awesome!! XD

  • How can i even get it ti run on win 7? When i try to load it from my play disc, it gives me an error and closes. Help?

  • @penguingangsta

What error was it? I had an error and fixed it

  • @XJproto Hi! i installed the game today and i have this error : " Diablo II - Unhandled Exception: Access Violation {c000005} " Any fix? P.S. Win 7 32 bit

  • @StripWomen That was the error I had

I un-installed and re-installed the game, and installed the patch manually by downloading it from a mirror site, rather than loading the game up and making the game download and install it itself. People were having issues with Diablo II's auto patching

Blizzard's battle.net support page for Diablo II has the links to download their patches manually, I'll PM you the links to that

Also make sure you video drivers and Direct X are up to date

  • thx dude that really worked u r the best

  • Thank you! This totally worked, thanks again.

  • worked perfect man thanks

  • issue it probably will help by killing Explorer process in Task Manager and then run the game. You do that like that: run diablo 2 -> hit CRTL + TAB key -> in windows hit CTRL + ALT + DELETE -> run Task Manager -> select Processes -> Select Explorer.exe -> hit End Task -> hit CTRL + TAB to select Diablo 2 and play. After exiting the game run Explorer.exe file in Task manager so you get all Icons backon the desktop. This works guaranteed. How can people play games in windowed mode etc. Rather not

  • No Windowed mode and I don't know what this guy on the video is doing. I have standard laptop with no extra graphic card and it runs OK. You can also probably aply NoCD patches on the internet even if they are not meant for Patch v1.13c. Probably NoCD Patch v1.09 works just fine if replaced by patched EXE file v1.13c. Backup EXE file first before overwiting. I am pretty sure that this method works on 90% of PC's if not all. And some kids make things like shown in the video. If you have color...

  • Diablo 2 works fine on Windows 7 64bit and I suppose 32bit the same. I installed it from image discs. I chose full installation 1,5GB. I had problems with installation with Power ISO, therefore I installed it rather with MagicISO ( no problems with it whatsoever ). After installation find the latest Patch v 1.13c on official Blizzard site for Windows systems and install it. After that mount or insert PLAY disc into DVD ROM and run Diablo 2 shortcut on your desktop. It runs in full screen mode...

  • wtf, it works :O

  • WOW IT RLLY WORKS THNX ALOT :D

  • Thnx!!!

  • nice its works

  • thanks sooo much. now i can finaly play it with out all the different colors!

  • window really works o.O n1 ty

  • thanks man that realy work

  • This is how I fixed my Diablo II LoD 1.13c in Windows 7:

    Extreme lag in-game:

    1.For both Game.exe & Diablo II.exe:

Right click -> Properties -> Compatibility

Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows XP (Service Pack 2)

    Disable desktop composition

    2.Run D2VidTst.exe and choose DirectDraw 2D

    Bugged colours:

When you start Diablo II, alt-tab out of it and run Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) find in the Processes tab explorer.exe -> End Process. File-New Task-explorer.exe to start it again

  • It actually worked. Thank you so much!

  • Thank You so much for this. Also I did both. Put it in window mode and leave the screen rez window open and now it runs beautifully.
