Thank you for the video. Lost treasure for Lao people. My Dad told me that Muay Lao does existed long time ago. Masters in the old generations knows Muay Lao but they refused to teach because they worried that practitioners will using it in negative ways. So Muay Lao died with the Masters. Muay Lao and Muay Khmer does look similar but Muay Lao uses magics. Peace.

That style is similar to the Shan style Lai Tai. One of the original Tai martial arts but then with so much Viet influence it could be influenced form them also.

i can't help but to jump in this conversation. Muay Lao incorporates dance with fighting style similar to traditional Muay Thai but more deadly. How do i know? My grandfather knocked his opponent with one punch using Muay Lao about 50+ years. He refused to teach anyone since it's so deadly.

How can you tell if this martial arts is bad or not by just watching this clip of their "dance"...Remember back in the 60's people used to laugh at the Thai Boxer when they did their Wai Kru Ram Muay dance b4 a fight, and look what happend after..=} the thai boxer sure didnt fight like he did in his little pre-fight dance. Are you involved in martial arts because this is obviously a choreographed dance/fight. And I'm sure this style is called Muay Lao, similar, if not the same to Muay Thai. The style actually started out in Cambodia, I believe and a majority of Indochinese countries have their own name for the style.

and muay laos. Some old lao guy fought with taekwando

Modern day Muay Lao is solid and strong.

The Laotians fight just like the Thais but a bit more graceful. The only difference between Muay Thai and Muay Lao is the Wai Kru and the music during the fight.

In Laos the music playing during the fight they use the kaen. To all the Muay Lao fans you guys should be proud. Lao is a powerhouse in Muay Thai/Lao in South East Asia.

Muay Lai Lao was almost made standard in the Lao People's Army training manual but the lack of qualify instructors put a stop to that. Instead Judo and Soviet hand to hand combat training maintain in the field manual. In my opinion, Judo is inferior to our Lao Martial Arts.
