  • Yah its really scary that they have XP running a locomotive. Where is the ctrl-alt-delete? You will never see that software in a piece of medical equipment or on an airplane. Next time you hear the rumble of the tanker train carrying all the oil and chlorine listen carefully and see if it sounds a little fast....

  • If it doesn't start on the 1st try, how long does it take to recharge the starter air?

Is that done by a pump driven by the locomotive batteries?

  • @mdavid1955 Im not sure but it can take as long as a couple of minutes for it to start with that alarm

  • @mdavid1955 The starting reservoir can only be recharged by hooking to another locomotive and lacing up the main reservoir hoses. The starting reservoir is directly linked to the main but has a one way check valve and it's integrity is much better than the main air system which will bleed down in a short amount of time. If no other locomotive is available, you can charge it with a compressor but it takes at least 100 psi in the starting reservoir to operate the starters properly

  • Nice vid. Thanks for posting.

  • @SantaFeSam2010 The radio is mounted on the control stand above the automatic and independant brake handles

  • Wow. Is that the engine's radio in the background?
