Great tutorial. I was glad I read the comment and found out you were crocheting around the middle loop, until that point I was going crazy trying to get tiny stitches into the loops. I would love to see more tutorials just like this, I am with the others, slow motion hand videos are for someone else! Thanks again.
@beenawesome1 I used DMC Cotton Perle with the smallest hook size that worked for my thread so that I could get really tight stitches. It was either a size 9 or 10 hook.
Thanks Gwen! I love the Lace Scallop Trim #2. You have a great way of explaining the directions and I like the drawn directions during the naration! :) :)
Love the way this crochet is presented with animated symbols. Can I apply your video style to my knitting videos do you think? I enclose my How to Knit a Lace Scarf video tutorial after this comment to see what you think.
@TheCastingCouchUK I don't see why you couldn't do something similar with knitting. You can use Doceri to describe anything you can write or draw, and you can even draw over photographs. The trick is figuring out how to draw the knit stitches. Once you've figured that out, you just have to write it out. Good luck. I hope you'll show me what you make!
Thank you so much :) Check out my profile pic . I made a bracelet and a necklace.... I have also made different colors with this.... May I sell these items??
@livelifecreateatfb I'm glad you enjoyed it. I tried to look at your pic, but could only see it as a tiny thumbnail. Yes, you may sell items you make with this tutorial, but please give me credit by posting my name a link back to this video. Thank you.
@doceriTeam Thanks of course you will get the credit for this. I have put together a slide for the bracelet and necklace so you can see them better. will be posting a video repy.. thanks again.
@Rinachiyya You can pause the video and take screen shots and then print those. As for whether I have a video that shows how to do it, that's what this is. I didn't make a separate a video of my hands showing how I make the stitches. I figured that you could very easily find how to make the stitches in almost any crochet book and a 1000 places on the internet. So I didn't want to repeat what others had already done. I wanted to offer something new and different.
Love it! I'm a huge fan of international symbols. It's rare to come across this style in video form. I appreciate that you don't coddle the viewer.
Thanks for not making me suffer through another slow-mo stitch nightmare. If you can't follow along the pattern is too advanced for your level, simple as that. A welcome change of pace literally and figuratively.
@cmarkuli2 Thank you for your kind comments. I too am a real lover of symbols, and I'm glad to hear that you share this love with me. Please check out the other videos on our channel. There are currently two others on crochet, and others still using different symbol systems. Thank you as well for responding to the beginners. Variety is the spice of life.
@MPkanaki There are tons of videos and drawings on the internet and probably at your local library that show how to do the basic crochet stitches. Every book on crochet I have ever read shows these basic stitches. Just do a search for "single crochet" or "double crochet" and so forth, to learn how to make these stitches. I didn't show the beginner lessons because I wanted to offer something different from what is so commonly offered. Thank you for your comments -gwen
I loved this way of teaching. I guess Im more of a visual learner....always good to learn new and exciting ways to crochet!! Thank you so much for your time in doing this tutorial. I am most definitely going to make this. THANKS!!!
@yarnitcreationsgal I used DMC Cotton Perle with the smallest hook size that worked for my thread so that I could get really tight stitches. It was either a size 9 or 10 hook.
I am by no means "experienced" but I loved this! It was super easy to follow and it worked out just like you said it would. I also liked the diagram style of teaching. It was extremely helpful to have a visual. Thank you for the beautiful new bracelet!
@amandaboutte I'm glad you liked it. Judging on the comments, this method of teaching isn't for everybody, but based on the votes, I seem about 7 times as many people like it as don't. I imagine that those who didn't like it are mostly beginners, but there are SOOOO MANY tutorials out there for absolute beginners; I wanted to offer something different. Thank you for your feedback, and enjoy your new bracelet! If you're on Ravelry, I hope you will consider posting it there. -gwen

This video is so confusing. How am I supposed to fit 11 stitches into 7 chains?
alysavatt 2 months ago
@alysavatt Don't crochet into the chain. Instead, crochet around the whole chain.
