Hobie kayaks are the BEST! Great for fishing, sailing, and just a great relaxing time out on the water. Even room for a dog (or two small dogs) in the back! Check out the video Poodle Dog on Hobie Kayak.
A really good demonstration of the mirage drive. What I like about these kayaks is how versatile and user friendly they are. A lot of older paddlers give up the sport as they age and get arthritis of their shoulders. Now they can get back on the water!

your an idiot, its still for pussies thinking its some new innovation. Ever heard of a fucking paddle boat? Same concept, and rutters are for complete retards, if there is one that is, I just see, two gay paddle fins. hahah your fag peddler, hahah
Yep i'm a retard, how about you me go head to head, in a head wind and against the tide, I can leave any paddler for dust in any condition, and I'm 50, you keep on paddling , just get outa the way when you see a Hobie coming........lol
Why would you ever respond to a comment in such a manner. You think you may have made a good response, but the only thing you did is show to the world how uneducated and rude you are. I am not tied to the company at all, I'm am just a kayak expert (know more than the average person). And that average person is you. If you spent two minutes researching the concept of the Hobie Mirage Drive and the concept of Rudders, you would see that they are in place to make kayaking a better experience. lol
I completely agree with asostrom...way to show your true colors. Hobie Kayaks are amazing and to say they are for pussies just shows how much you know about kayaks, nothing!
I love the speed. It's almost like biking verses walking. A paddle boat's speed is horrid, and the manpower to get from point a to point b is crazy. It looks quite amazing!
The Outback is the most popular one, although my favorite is the Revolution. It's close to being just as stable and the Hull shape is closer to the Ocean Kayak Prowler Trident.
You don't need a paddle. I recommend going to their web site and reading up on it before you make any more comments on it. Kayak fishing is the number one growing category in the kayak industry and Hobie is the number one fishing kayak brand due to the Mirage Drive.
Best thing since sliced bread!

Unless you have tried or own a Hobie, you have no idea how cool the Mirage Drive is!
I am so pleased I bought a Hobie instead of a paddle yak!!

Nope... no paddle required. Top selling sit-on-top in the US now.
