  • very nice played

  • I prefer Emmy Rossum's voice to Sarah Brightman's. Is that Phantom sacrilege?

  • I went to watch The Phantom of the Opera when I was 12... I am now 21 years old, and I'm still speechless... :) Andre Lloyd Webber is a genius.

  • @blancmerlot, you're missing the "w" in "Andrew Lloyed Webber, but yeah, he's a friggin' genius.

  • @AlecZacJustinwWife One should not spell his name incorrectly - haha - my bad! :)

  • @blancmerlot, it's cool.

  • @blancmerlot Or use double negatives. haha

  • @frog1599 Eish... I should stick to my native language and not English.. :) Greetings from South Africa **

  • @blancmerlot That's so cool :)

  • i first watched in this movie when i was seven years old, to this day it is still my favorite movie. i am fifteen now and this is exactly what i want to do. emmy rossum is truly my inspiration, her voice like an angle!! i really wish to become like her(: shes such a kind and gentle hearted person. someday i hope to meet her<3

  • I want to know why everyone hates Raul and basically wishes he was out of the picture and Christine was with Phantom the whole time. Not only would that have left a pretty dull story (No love triangle and no villain since Phantom would be the protagonist), but you have to remember that Phantom doesn't seem to truly love Christine. He says "Let it be war upon you both". You don't wish that on someone you love, even if they don't return it. Only Raul loves her unconditionally. He's just not badass

  • @XJigsaw66X I disagree. I think the Phantom's anger proves his love for her. Love comes in all different tones. It's two different reactions to the same emotion based on two different psychologies and life stories.

  • @Mirani2 As much as I love the Phantom aswell, don't forget that at the beginning he wasn't in love with Christine but just with her voice. And he does try to convince her he was is her father at some points and takes advantage of that. He does love her at the end though, but it would've been naff if they got together... think of the sequels :|

  • I Was Looking For Skrillex...

  • How can be 4 dislikes?.. They don't know about music and great voices..

  • So cute!!!!!

  • ladies and gentlemen... and that's how you sing a love song in duets.

  • my choir is doing this song :) i love it

  • the phantom deserved so much better than Christine.

  • I'm so glad so many people here share the same love for Phantom. Thanks to everyone for the views, likes, and insightful comments. Phantom forever<3

  • I will bet 50,000 of the views are me.

  • i sing this song every morning in my school bus....... :)

  • I cried through the whole movie:'/ It's so sensetivity:'/ And though I listen to Heavy Metal:'(

  • I cried 'cause the Phantom was listening while they were singing this </3

  • I wish the Phantom and Christine could have sang this son together :(

  • The phantom was a father figure to her...awkward if Christine and him ended up together.

  • @06steffyMICHELLE ITS ONLY AWKWARD BECAUSE THAT IS THE IDEAS YOU HAVE MADE UP IN YOUR MIND. A MAN CAN BE BOTH TO HIS WIFE. HUSBAND AND FATHER. THE PHANTOM WANTED HER TO BE A PART OF HIS LIFE IN THE THEATRE. MAKING A LIFE OF SOMETHING THEY BOTH LOVED. GOD TAUGHT ADAM FIRST, THEN ADAM TAUGHT HIS WIFE GOD'S REQUIREMENTS.

  • This song.. Broke my heart when I first saw it, with the phantom listening to them.

  • Damn. Her high note at the end. Jesus. I have to sing that hahahah. Oh man

  • I can't stop listening to this.

  • @imagineloveneverdies sorry i meant to vote up! D:

  • the ONLY movie that ever made me cry and i mean i will wept sobbed all of it the phantom should have got christine i mean like he loves her so dearly and all those years of noone loving him and christine understands him and he loves her and she loves him but she goes with raul which personally i think is a stupid move but such a beautiful, romantic, sad and touching movie! bravo!

  • Such a BEAUTIFUL intro! Andrew Lloyd matches the music PERFECTLY with scenery, emotion, cinematography, etc etc etc...everything! AMAZING! Love it!

  • such a beautiful song. favorite musical of all time.

  • great song...........

  • Guys, it's a fictional story.Just enjoy the incredible music

  • Love the movie, love the actors, love the song what more can you love -3 :)

  • 3 people thought they were phantom listening in on christine and raoul

  • I <3 this song!!!!

  • 3 people attempted to get Christine one of Them phantom

  • I loved Loved LOVED this song!!! If The Phantom was not a murderer and a jealous psycho, I would totally dump Raoul in a heart beat! The Phantom's voice melts my heart!

  • Don't get me wrong...I was all Team Phantom...but then at the end, I remembered how he manipulated and threatened people to get what he wanted like the owners for money, Christine's dad's death to lure her to him, killing off people or trying to when he was jealous....then I imagined how marriage would've worked=Christine chained to the Organ...and suddenly Raoul seemed like the nicest guy >.>

  • Ok seriously? Guys, she thought the phantom was the spirit of HER FATHER. So please, stop fighting about raoul and the phantom. But still, i like the phantom bettter XD his voice is so pretty, and he didnt look THAT bad with his difigured face. only his lips were weird i bet to kiss. I still wonder why he didnt marry the girl who saved him.....

  • @musiclover25162 Well, I think she knew that he wasn't an angel (deep down) but wanted to believe he was. I also think that he didn't marry the girl that saved him because he wasn't attracted to her, she didn't make his soul fly!

  • I like Raoul more than the Phantom. I said it.

I'll go hide now before I get fan-attacked. XD

  • @TheCloverGal Honestly, so do I. I think he's better for Christine, he's in love with her, the Phantom was obsessed with her more than anything. Like Raoul said to Madame Giry, the genius of the Phantom had turned into madness, and I don't think she would have survived in happiness with the Phantom the way she did with Raoul.

  • @TheCloverGal Same here. xD

  • 1 dislike? Thats the Phantom..

  • @TheHenriProductions ... I despise dislike comments. I really do. THIS one, however, is both appropriate and hysterically AMAZING. x'3 Thank you.

  • @TheHenriProductions ... I despise dislike comments. I really do. THIS one, however, is both appropriate and hysterically AMAZING. x'3 Thank you.

  • 1 dislike??? They're just mad that they couldn't get the girl. EVER.

  • I love it when the phantom sings that part at the end its so nice.

  • This should be sung by the special couple during the marriage ceremony. I love the song.

  • 0 dislikes. There is hope for the world yet.

  • @paddyoski

Hate to tell you but that's changed now.....lol

  • @paddyoski sadly now it is 4 dislike. 4 very confused lost people with no sense of music or appreciation for a great movie

  • I think Raoul and Christine belong together. I mean, it isn't Raoul's fault Christine chose him. Don't call Raoul stupid because you can't choose who you fall in love with. The heart wants what the heart wants, and no one can change that.

  • @Sakura11247 'x3 Despite the validity in that, I still find Raoul to be pretty stupid, personally. It has nothing to do with the fact that Christine chose him; it has to do with the fact he's narrow-sighted (instantly so sure "what you heard was a dream and nothing more", etc), kind of a jerk ("Two minutes, little Lotte!"), and frankly just really immature. No one's really going to argue Erik was an unstable stalker, but Raoul was just about as obsessive. If you read the book, he's even worse..

  • Ha Shame men are not not as romantic as the films.

  • the arguments about Phantom x Christine x Raoul is like twilight xD, except in a more theatrical way. I'M SO ON TEAM PHANTOM >:D >DEEP SEXY VOICE!<

team Raoul, =3=...hell no, no offence to those whose's on his team xD

  • raoul is a douche

  • Raoul is half-masquerade himself; as is Christina, and You and I. That's what is so moving and tragic about this brilliance. It was the way, yet unseen, they failed one another, still to come, hinted at but not foreseen by the lovers; and the eventual recognition of phantom indulgences within, of anger and vanity and passion: the hurt inflicted; and, at long last, the understanding, and finally forgiveness which covered all

  • this is going to be my wedding song.

  • @usnate1

Look up the history behind this before you start your ranting. :-)

  • @Lenalouwho23 It's so confusing with all the legends sorrounding the Paris Opera House!

  • I cried when the Phantom was singing this in the end.. ://

  • These are fictional characters..........................FICTIONAL Characters. People, wake up,come back to reality. Endora60, really? LOl

  • I know that everyone loves the Phantom and I'm not saying that I hate him, because I don't, but I don't hate Raoul either lol I'm totally on the fence :) The romantic side of me loves Raoul, but my rational side loves the Phantom - It's a hard place to be in lol

  • i have never had a chance to see phantom of the opera in theaters and i still like this song

  • trumpet entrance @ 4:10 = sexy.

  • @racerx276 wooo! trumpets, (im a trumpet player :) )

  • Who knew Nite Owl can sing.

  • This is one of those movies where u can have no clue what is going on, and just listen to the music, and you will know exactly what is going on, still havent seen the play, want to, but cant afford it >.<

  • @shadowLordEbil I really want to see it too! I hope you get to!!

  • This is one of those doomed romance movies that I love and hate at the same time.

  • this song is so beautiful!!!!

  • (: I absolutely love this song <3

  • If I were rich, I would rent an orchestra just to conduct this.

  • @racerx276 If I were rich I would BUY an orchestra to play this.

  • I always feel sad when you find out the phantom was listening the entire time. :(

  • I want this song to be played at my wedding. And I want it to be snowing. And the wedding will be... in the countryside in Austria.

    /shot. I'll just keep dreaming. :'D

  • i seen this movie in Choir :)

  • I love love love this movie. I guess Im weird though. I love the fact that Christine ended up with Raoul. I do feel sorry for the phantom though....I mean he did love her too...and never stopped according to the end of the movie. But I just believe if she had stayed with the phantom she never would have truely been happy.

  • The chords from 0:25 - 0:41 are beautiful. Stunning. Haunting. Mournful. And even those words are yet but a small grasp of its true description.

  • im glad she ended up with her TRUE love raoul!

  • I love the movie...but raoul cant sing

  • Amen i'd of taken the phantom over raoul any day

  • This is so beautiful, I can listen to it over and over again.

  • fave movie of all time i mean in like a maniac in phantom of the opera i have the DVD, a glow in the dark t-shirt that has a rose and the mask, the mask, the book, and soon i'll have the CD eith all of the songs

  • loved it though it's sad

  • very nice! this song gives me goosebumps because of its wonderful craft!

  • I love this movie . & i cant believe Gerald Butler is such a great singer & amazing actor . .he plays tha phantom & i know hes not singing in this song i just had to mention him .(:

  • wish someone loved me so much....

  • Most amazing movie in the world I cry every ending, it should of been the phantom with her!!! stupid raoul :(

  • @loneoakgrls Yes, that makes it all the more tragic. But the music is so deeply touching as well =)

  • Comment removed

  • @loneoakgrls O me gosh I'M NOT ALONE!!!

  • @loneoakgrls omg yes it would kinda feel like a forbidin love <33 so romantic

  • @loneoakgrls sir that is fucked up raoul was a fuckin awesome son of a bitch I'd gay fuck him and you gotta respect him the bigger man gets the puss.

  • @loneoakgrls yeah well, if it had happy ending it wouldn't be opera now would it? :-)

  • @loneoakgrls I know. I wanted to go through that tv screen. Gah, Best movie ever!

  • @loneoakgrls No. The phantom was not good for her. He obsessed over her, lol. That's not healthy. True, it's sad that he was so bullied and ostracized his entire life, but I think the movie turned out well. It was sad, though. /:

  • @kaylaxrawrrrr I completey agree.

  • @loneoakgrls Why should the Phantom end up with her? Doesn't she deserve a GOOD man, a man who loves her for more than her voice? A man who'll want her to be more than just a singer, one who'll want her for wife and companion and mother of their children? A man who'll love her through her life and mourn her death for decades? That's what she got from Raoul--lifelong adoration for many reasons from a kind and true man. That's worth a lot more than the dark brilliance she'd get from the Phantom.

  • @endora60 On one hand you are pretty right - on the other one: Why shouldn't the Phantom finally get what he deserves? He suffered from pain and sorrow such a long time. Why not making one of his wishes come true? He'd deserve a bit of love =)

But either way: The story can't end another way. Otherwise it would be a fairytale. And noone would hope for a fairytale in their lifes because they are unlikely to come true - but people hope for a little time of happiness. And that is what that is about

  • @endora60 its the principal of the thing. In the actual story Raoul abandoned her saying to himself she isnt worthy to be his wife. So she becomes infatuated with the phantom through belief that he is the angel of music. Then pretty boy turns up and we know the rest of the story. Later on Raoul becomes an abusive drunk so right choice?

  • @endora60 you do have some good points there. BUT this is how I see it: I don't think The Phantom just loved her voice at the end. I think he truly loved HER, as a person. Even if he had a strange way of showing it. I never got the right feeling about Raoul, so that might be why I didn't like him. I thought he was a week character, if only they made him a strong character who could match the Phantom. What was it like in the books? I've never read them, so I don't know. It's just how I see it :)

  • @endora60 yeah but the phantom is probably a much better f***

  • @w423350 LOL

  • @loneoakgrls god i wish i could like your comment a million times. i just raged all over facebook about this!!!!

  • @loneoakgrls Maybe go watch beauty and the beast

  • emmy rossum must be the most gorgeous girl in the world

  • emmy rossum is the angel of a man's dreams.

  • this movie always holds a special place in my heart. reminds me of my experiences with a love triangle.

  • if i were christine i'd go with the phantom.

as a perk-imagine all of the people you could scare! lol i luff youh phantom.

  • great musical, great song.

  • I love this song from the movie, and even though Christine & Raoul are in love, I still feel sorry for the Phantom. It's a wee shame that the person he loves doesn't love him back but loves another. "/ x

  • @nicoleSHIELDS1995 Actually, Christine loves them both... she just forgets everything when Phantom sings to her. She had to make a tough decision. My opinion? Dump Raoul and go for Phantom =D

  • @StarWarsObsession42 I think Phantom of the Opera is the original Twilight, the stories are very much alike

  • @ButterflyGoddess221 NEVER compare this BEAUTIFUL masterpiece to Twilight!!!

  • @StarWarsObsession42 don't get me wrong, Phantom is definitely a better story and much more elegant but there is still the beautiful girl torn between two men, one who is sexy and sensible to be with the other who is still sexy but self loathing and hides away from the day. I'm sorry but I have no doubt in my mind that Stephanie Meyer was inspired by this story.

  • @ButterflyGoddess221 oh well............... thats better when u put it tht way. i wonder if someone could email stephanie meyer and ask her xD

  • @StarWarsObsession42 I'd love that, see what she says maybe I'll try that

  • Comment removed

  • @ButterflyGoddess221 if you compare it to the movie then yes, but the book is really different. She's not in love with the phantom in the book. At first she's sort of entranced by his singing (like in the movie) but when she meets him she realizes that he is just a man...and not a very attractive one at that (he really was missing his nose and smelled terrible). So the musical is similar to Twilight, but the book isn't

  • @pearlywhites82 i agree when you say the musical is not like the book at all.. the book is amazing in its own way.. but there is no way this musical is like twilight.. its the other way around in my opinion. this musical has been around way longer than twilight has.. even before it became a movie.. sorry i was a little offended reading this is like twilight when its not

  • @nicoleSHIELDS1995 yes but it happens a lot unfortunately :(

  • @aspiringactor24 yeah, unfortunately :/ the world would be a much better place if things were simpler! :)

  • @nicoleSHIELDS1995 yes it surely would guess thts why it is life and not a fairytale unfortunately :

    (

  • @nicoleSHIELDS1995 tell me about it. lol

  • The broadway ply was much better but the movie did do an extrodinary job.I will admit.

    One of my favs =]

    10/5

  • This song is one of my favorite songs from the movie but I still feel sorry for the Phantom guy.

I feel like I want to sing along to this but I can't XD

  • x3 I can't hit the high notes very well, but I still try! It's fun =]

  • my fave from the movie.

  • love this movie ahhhhhh

  • Favorite movie of all time. Joal Shumacher did a terrific job.

  • This song is great enough to stand alone.

  • I assumed you were talking about the video as a whole. I was stating my opinion that there should not be more pictures because that would take away from the song. I think this is more of an audio than anything else. If I'm off track, then I apologize.

  • Lmao, it doesn't matter. shinysuicune and I know each other personally so it's just friend-to-friend suggestions. Buahahaha.

  • Hi, Anna. I like this song too, it's my favorite other than the overture and maybe Music of the Night. I thought Patrick Wilson was very good for this movie. The rooftop scene was amazing,

  • Cool video! I like this song.
