  • @citizenjared jamie's been using vibrators to make music for a long time, they work great with guitar pickups

  • @citizenjared jamie's been using vibrators to make music for a long time, pretty funny

  • TVE???? is that television española?

  • I miss 2004 :-(

  • I like it

  • the highest quality video of caralee's bum

  • @whiteteethgayface I saw them live a few summers ago at the Tampa Skatepark and it sounded exactly like the album. they were very good.

  • @jazzercising011

I wish I could see 'em live. They'd probably be one of my favorites.

  • music made with vibrators = music for lesbians and fat chicks

  • idiots

  • Carralee is sexy. I want to stick it in her pooper.

  • Honesty goes a long way sir hahah

  • Egg vibrators in what i believe are different shape bowls or drum cymbals.

  • @mastodon

Theyre concave cymbals.. as you can see she puts em back on her kit after the song finishes.

  • when I saw them back in 05, she was definitely using vibrators during their set to make noises.

  • Jamie Stewart's vocals induce chills like no one else I know of.

  • heh. they're probably just oscillators hooked up to piezo drivers or small speakers.

  • egg zactly

  • ididnt mean it like that

    nvm

  • its chinese

  • is their name pronounced Z-eye-oo or Z-ee-oo?

  • Jamie Stewart has said on multiple occiasions its actually pronounced like "shoe-shoe"

  • @captainjeremy Yeah it's Chinese. Not quite "shoe-shoe" but more like "see-oo, see -ooo" very quickly. But Chinese pronunciations are complicated, require a little bit of study. Worth it if you got the time though!

  • shoe shoe

  • Caralee is his cousin...

  • Very wise.

  • hes gay too

  • ahhh jamie stewarts amazingg :D

  • Are there any more videos from this concert?

  • Saw them in Manchester on tuesday, they're even better live than on record

  • :D <3

  • why do you think james is retarded?

  • I have seen a lot of people with confirmed cases of Down's Syndrome. He does not look like that.

  • are you retarded?

  • You should see them -- they are fantastic live. Better than on their records.

  • Man, that was so good. <3 Loved it.

  • Amazing !

  • one of the most interesting takes on pop music ive heard in years

  • I thought the vocals at first to be interesting. But I really like them now. I think that there is alot of passion in his vocals. I like it. But, to each his own

  • saw this dude play today by himself in berklee. awesome sound.

  • wow i was reading the past comments on this song and i must ask "if its not on the top 40 or MTV you wont listen to it?"

a little too obscure? what happened to the freedom of any and all art

rock on xiu xiu i say, rock on

  • such depressing lyrics, with fun music. I love the last chord he plays. just perfect.

  • I think that Jamie Stewart has one of the most compelling voices in pop music. Best since Morrissey.

  • I love this song. I love the commitment. I think its fantastic.

  • The music's really good, but I think they should try and move in another direction with the vocal style.

  • lol i stumbled onto a pretty old debate... i used to hear people who hate radiohead complaining by saying "well that one guy released 2 hours of static back in the day, they were more experimental" ...its just like science, it's useless unless it has a practical application. how dare she use a microkorg instead of a micron

  • Fdaltrey is being idiotic. Of COURSE there are more experimental bands out there, of COURSE there are better musicians in the world (although I do think you are underestimating their technical ability). That is not why we love Xiu Xiu. We love Xiu Xiu for its social aspect, for their expression of emotion and intimacy. If you can't see the blood, sweat and tears they put into their music, then it's only your loss.

  • I prefer 'critical' over idiotic, but that is my humble opinion. You're right. There is no accounting for taste, neither mine nor yours. However, I strongly believe I have become familiar with musicians and music that is more emotional and intimate. As such, I do not rate them highly.

  • Sorry, didn't mean to go negative - I can get worked up about this issue, because they are really one of my favorite groups. And for what it's worth, I can totally understand people being turned off by them. As for me, however, I will fawn over Jamie endlessly.

  • Why does everyone find fault in everyone elses music? If you're musical in the least, you feel ripped off every time you see a show worse than you, and you feel outraged that so many impressionable people are turned on by music that blows because it is a concept to make that music for impressionable people to spend money.

  • she's pretty.......pretty song....mario and luigi would love this!

  • What you see as 'cult', I see differently (I bet you're eager to respond by saying that Charles Manson thought similarly).

  • Agreed wholeheartedly. I'm hoping to see them on tour sometime in the near future.

  • In some scenes the singer reminds me of robin williams.

  • wow the audience has no emotion, their clapped sucked, how disrespectful to Xiu Xiu.

  • Somehow I agree with fdaltrey, I don't consider Xiu Xiu an experimental band but a pop one, there's a series of improvisations video of them on "la blogoteque" and it's really boring and you get the knack that they don't really portray your "music genius" type of people and end up resembling pretentious blokes but then they have several songs which I really enjoy. Don't get me wrong I love the band but I don't think of them as an experimental band.

  • Fantastic song! Absolutely love the voice, so emotive. Of course there's no way you can compare this music to actual experimental artists like Stockhausen. IMO it's not so experimental musically but why on earth should that matter if it still sounds good? Experimental in the way some ppl use it this day just means "different" not actually experimenting that much. Lol, spoons may be an exception (maybe)... hehe.

  • love this song.

  • I apologize. Would you care to clarify, then, how exactly their methods and means of operation and artistic expression differ from other 'popular' bands? How are they 'experimental'? You do realize that your being able to cateogorize in such a self-conscious nomenclature is tantamount to their limitation of their expression.

  • I have been writing too much disparaging comments regarding xiu xiu. I apologize to those offended by my remarks.

  • I'm sorry, but their 'experimentation' simply is a cobbler's patch of what true genius is capable of. If this music appeals to you intellectually, then I suspect that you have quite a low cutoff standard for worthwhile cerebral stimuli.

  • Kid, I wouldn't exactly want the highest standard for cerebral stimuli "worthwhile" in Fdaltrey's eyes if it means I have to sit around on YouTube complaining in great, passionate detail about indie music that I don't even enjoy.

  • While you're on youtube, why don't you open your mind a little bit and search words such as 'boulez' 'aimard' 'stockhausen' or 'gesualdo' and see my side of the arguement? Hey, it's free!

  • I've become more familiar with Stockhausen, now what does that have to do with this?

  • Now, why not become VERY familiar with Stockhausen, and more familiar with Boulez?

  • They sound just like any other pop band trying to 'experiment', but failing miserably. Please listen to the music of early Stockhausen, Nono, Boulez, Elliott Carter, Milton Babbitt, Webern, Ferneyhough, etc to get a real taste of how creative music can be. Xiu Xiu are just amateur musicians.

  • in your point of view, you are correct. Why does everyone find fault in evryone elses music taste?

  • I listen to this song at an unhealthy rate.

  • god this is great

  • i think they're the best band around right now

  • Amazing performance; i love her

  • Awesome vid of Jamie.

  • Happy birthday Dennis Cooper :-)

  • in a strange way he reminds me of robin williams. but with better voices.

  • i know exactly what you mean. it's something in the way he opens his mouth, and his face.

  • Jamie Stewart is the fucking man. So good.

  • COCK MIC. LOL

    But cool vid.

  • everyone uses those..

  • Does this strike anyone else as weird how it was televised on TVE, which is the equilavent of BBC, or CBC (canada)? Very cool none the less.

  • I ♥ Xiu Xiu

  • oh, i love you xiu xiu.

  • jamie steward rocks

  • Xiu Xiu is so amazing! I love this song..it's one of my favorites.

  • one of my favorites~!!!~

  • that was awesome

  • So good. Can't wait to see them in September.
