I kind of forgot about this band over the years. Then I started thinking about bands I used to listen to back in the day and could remember listening to this great band with some simple but good name while kicking back at bars on Long Island. For the longest time I could not remember their name and then one day it just popped in my head. It's great to be able to check it out on youtube and listen to the music and drift back to the good old days!
These guys showed me a different side of music..I saw this band "live" in Memphis, in the rain in an outdoor venue... On our first date, with my now wife of sixteen years... they were diggin the crowd and we were diggin them.. Simply fantastic.
ahh My favorite song! Don't know why this hit the group of friends I had back then so hard but this album was def fun to sit around and enjoy a buzz 2! Great memories!
Long live the studio lounge and hello to those that get that been a while!
love this band! went to one of their concerts in springfield mo. met them after concert, got autographs and they signed one of their drumsticks then ate lasagna with them. this band will live on with their true fans
I admit, I have mixed feelings about the sucess of this band.
I whole-heartedly feel that this band deserved more exposure & success than they were ever given.
But on the selfish side, I am glad that this band lives in a cult status and underground state.
Maybe I'm wording it wrong, but all I mean is that I'm glad that this group lives on in true-hearted circles and never experienced a radio exposure burn out.
As a 90s child, I only heard this for the first time in '05 (during my first deployment to Iraq). At this time I also saw a pirated copy of Clerks II (summer '06 halfway through deployment). For as great as the 1979 Pumpkins scene is in that movie, I guess the timing of my introduction to both this song and that film always made me feel that this song is the only song that would have been more appropriate. Love this song.
Wow... A blast from my past, grew up on this stuff... I miss it too! Thank you Anna! I was thinking of the band and had to go throw a whole bunch of names to recognize theirs. This song kept popping in my head, meant to download this album again but it had been so long ago I owned it, I had forgot the name Sponge. Going to now find all of their albums!
Definitaly one of the best songs. Incredible album. THank you so much for putting this up I cant find most of the songs from Rotting Pinata on Youtube.
