  • Guilty as charged, I was one of the die hards that made that march. The mounted Union Officer saluted us after wards telling us that we made history. Wish more guys would have showed up, but understand why they didn't. I salute everybody that did...puzzled about the Stars and Bars color bearer though...

  • @TheLakota1890 the "freeman"? not uncommon hard to keep track of cause the CSA didnt keep track till 64 I believe. Their home states being invaded too. If i recall the richmond howizers had some at Bull run as well but i'd have to source that to be sure.

  • @DrKorn5 Um..are you referring to my color bearer comment? The one on foot was a "woman of color". A woman? and of color? Caught me off guard, leading the Confederates...just wondered what that was about.

  • @TheLakota1890 Oh sorry I didnt realize it was a woman. Yeah that is a bit outta the norm isnt it? I didnt make it to the parade being a New Englander the temperature at 7am was already too damn hot.

  • Only a very few of us made that parade. Very difficult, but glad I did.

  • no way i would have marched in it WAY TO HOT lol

  • @2006nationalchamps Yeah, it was a scorcher all right. I give props to these men and women, who came out and did this in the heat for the sake of the 150th anniversary.

  • @2006nationalchamps That was really hot. I had a full canteen before the parade and it was empty by the time we got back to camp.
