Great video as always. 5911ryan has a great channel. He has a great way if snaring coyotes. I would check it out if you have never seen anyone use a power snare before.
I hate to say it, but to many natives are brought into a life of poverty and alcohol. Its not their fault, its sad more then anything. This leads to a life of crime. Puts a bad name on your people. Though i know more then a few good fellas that love living the way of the land.
Me...Im white as snow. But my heart is with mother nature....
Hey mate great vids love watching them. Got a question for ya, do you dye your soft catch traps and if so could you make a vid on that. Mate keep up the great vids

Great videos man! I really enjoy watching all your videos ...I watched all of them so Keep the Videos coming ! They are great! I also trap. Just started, Its pretty awesome! By the way your living my dream there log cabin No one to worry about or nothing, no responsibilities ! And best of all you trap!
thewildnorth ,just found your channel , just like to say its a1 ,as a hunter and outdoorsman myself i shoot alot of red fox , deer ,small game and waterfowl i also work for landowers shooting varmints,as here in wales uk we dont get nothing for our red fox pelts do you get any red fox in your area atb steve
andrew relax bro... dont go crazy do what you can when you can...everything seems so hectic ..do it at your pace.dont make any special trips anywhere....post what you can when you can... and how about a little mor andrew ?i havent heard you say fuck shit bastard ... lol relax bro....
dave360 i am a fellow hunter trapper. you cant be any further from the truth .an animal will come to a call easer than he will go in a snare or foot hold trap.you dont now how much time goes into disguising your traps dyeing them waxing them boiling them...and location is everything the distance from a animals nose to foot location ..all animals are different .they are slower with there left leg so try to set up for a left foot catch .Look at the lynx foot in the trap not much room for err.
What you do is an art, and you do it good. Great to see ya back I check my subscription box each day. Your an inspiration to me. Keep up the good work. Lol maybe someday ill be helping you on the trap line like your cuz. Because you helped me a lot on my trap line, from watching your videos.
hey man i dont know but i think traping is a little "cold" if you will. im a hunter my self but i jus think that being able to call ina deer or turkey has some sport to it were traping is just luck.
@dave360dave luck has nothing to do with it.trapping takes time and experience and you must know were to find the animals.you cant just set a trap anywere and expect a wholverine to go into your trap. once you set a trap thats not just it that trap has to be tended every other day it took me years to learn what i know now wen i was younger and less experienced i would catch 10 lynx a aseason same amount of traps set now i catch 40 a season it is hard work trapping the animal is the easy part.
@dave360dave these animals are smart if you get a miss on a set you must study the tracks and figure out why you missed the animal and learn from it.trapping under the ice your blind wen you set this trap you cant see the trap or were ur setting it it is actually a lot of work.i wont even get started on the weather a lot of people would die if they ran my line wen it is -30 and the whiteouts are horrible cant see 2 feet in front of you. it takes time effort patience and experience.
@dave360dave I would like to point out he isn't trapping for "sport".
This is utilizing natures resources in a way that puts bread on the table and clothes on your back.
Although enjoyable He is not doing it for the entertainment or "fun" value nor is he pursuing "game".
....."sport" is an invention of the upper classes...you may be a hunter by the modern definition but what your watching is video of a Hunter in the truest purest sense. A subsistence Hunter...
@jsmallwood2007 Thanks for that. It's also a strong part of our heritage and the heritage of our nation. Not a sport, but a way of life. A meager living that is for a tough breed. I have a whole new respect for Trappers after being on the land with Andrew. I never realized how much work was involved in the skinning and fleshing of the hides to get them prepped for auction. I forgot the work our grandfather put into the hides when I used to watch him skin and flesh the animals at his house.
@bfxp63 oh he is doing good he likes skinning thats a good thing he does the mink and weasels and i tought him to skin lynx hes done a couple hes not scared to get his hands dirty

Bees wax is supposed to be good for snares when it's cold so they don't freeze and break apparently.
ShannonMcNab 1 month ago
@ShannonMcNab Paraffin wax works great, as well. It is odorless where beeswax is not.
