You can see the tow that connected hin to the trike wrapped around him.

I believe to remember (the whole thing was on TV a while ago) that the rope broke or the pilot of the trike disconnected it.

Maybe that shock was enough to make the glider dance like that - maybe it freaks out easyer in such thin air.

At 2min' 40" that was definitely Everest South West Face (been there)

That was / is a phenomenal logistical achievement to coordinate the logistics, weather & human element to get this video. One of the greatest achievements I've seen.....including the tug pilot!

I'll correct you. He died, but not in South America but in Italy, before his fly here in Argentina, over the Aconcagua Mountain. In a little town in Italy the people decided to celebrate this success, and he went there in an aeroplane that crashed
