  • Thank you

  • i have no physical connection to the land where this type of music is played, but i enjoy it with all of my heart !!!

  • This simple bluegrass harmony is typical of "country folk"....which is what makes it "special"....no "high-falutin'" pretense here!

  • Anyone notice Foghorn Leghorn in the background?

  • @TheBasenjiman Yep.....ain't he cool!!

  • Was this song written by Gillian Welch? or is it a old gospel song from the book of hymns ?

  • It was written by Gillian Welch from what I can gather.

  • Thats what I had thought.. But was surprised to see Dailey & Vincent perform it.. But I can see why as it is such a great gospel song.. The mandolin in this version of the song sounds so sweet like honey.. Thank you Cathead77

  • When they performed this song at the KenLake Bluegrass festival in 2008, the room was silent for a minute after then the song and then everyone just stood and started clapping. The applause lasted for several minutes. It was a very moving experience. I look forward to seeing them perform Sunday afternoon in Camden, TN in the park. I was there last year at this festival and will be there this year as well. Thanks for the video.

  • Love it! My kind of music. :-)

  • simply awesome. when I first heard that song I thought it was ancient. I was surprised to hear it was recent. with versions like this I think people will be singing it 100 years from now.

  • incredible performance. great audio and video quality, too. I even LOVE the Foghorn Leghorn painting on the wall behind the guys.

  • Isn't this just a fantastic performance! I read where when they sang this at the IBMA awards ceremony this last year that it was the only performance that received a standing ovation. The harmonies are just incredible. And, they both have terrific personalities and are so appreciative of all the success they've had since starting out on their own. If you haven't already, check out the Elizabeth video on here with Jimmy Fortune and D&V, it's astounding.

  • Jamie Dailey sounds so much like Ricky! No wonder Daren Vincent harmonizes with him so well!

  • Jamie is a hometown friend of mine, and we are all so proud of him!! Go Jamie!!

  • love love love this song!!! and dailey and vincent!!!

  • this song brings tears to my eyes everytime i hear it... Can't image the pain that Jesus must have felt.... What love HE had for us.... I love HIM very much......

  • without the visuals, one could think this tune was performed in 1949 by the Stanley Brothers--just missing the banjo

  • very true brother..very true

  • Is that Foghorn Leghorn behind them?

  • Yes it is.

  • as the name says he must be a true HICK and knows nothing about harmony and powerful singing cause this arrangement and vocals ROCKS!!!!!!

  • I am both a hick and a vocal arranger, and I agree with you.

  • One of their best ever ... !!!!

  • I suppose they could have arranged it to suit your tastes but chose to please the other 99........lol. Thanks for watching I really appreciate your input.
