I am wanting to do mostly carrots, cucumbers, apples, tomatoes and add small amounts of kale, spinach, parsley and other greens into my recipes. I also want to do fruits of all kinds. what would you recommend. I'm scared to get the L'Equip XL due to the fact it doesn't do greens well... but, I know that i will use more of the other ingredients... yet, still want to do some greens. advice?
The Lequip 215XL would be fine for you, as you intend to juice only a small percentage of leafy greens. It will STILL juice them, but just not as effectively as other juicers. Each juicer has its pros and cons.. Just like each pair of shoes. Pick the juicer that will best fit your needs, like you will pick the shoe that best matches your outfit..
The omega 8004 and 8006 juice wheatgrass well. The Omega VRT will juice wheatgrass when mixxed with other fruits and vegetables. I do have a video on this at
this is my first time shopping for a juicer. i spent hours and hours reading and watching videos. i came to the conclusion that i want a life saving masticating juicer but i don't want to spend $1,500 to $2,500. I don't want a low end juicer either. I am looking at a twin gear masticating machine. are they better than the auger machines for getting the most out of the food? for the mid-cost units, which do you recommend for the most nutrition and best health benefits?
Hi John! Thank u for taking the time to create this informational video! It was very helpful. Just wanted to ask you if you knew anything about the Jack LaLanne stainless steel juicer and what are your thoughts about it?
The stainless steel jack lalanne is just like the plastic version. It is more upscale, but still has the main disadvantage of the short warranty. The yield is about the same.
It would take an AWEFUL lot of carrot juice to make someone fat. That being said, in most peoples diets, there are probably many other foods that are being eaten that are probably making people fat (ie: processed foods, and overconsumption of animal products) that I would be concerned with and not carrot juice.
Awesome explanation, thank you. We are ordering one of the Omega's this week. Can't wait to get it. I love my Juice Man Jr but it doesn't do kale so we are switching. And the ability to make sorbet from frozen fruit is cool.
Hi, I haven't seen any videos on a Kuvings Multipurpose Juicer (not the silent one). What is your opinion on the Kuvings NJE-3570 Multi-purpose Juice Extractor - Silver? I will be juicing lots of greens and root veggies.
On the Kuvings multipurose- Its basically like a Samson juicer, but has a much shorter warranty, plus I have had some customer service issues with Kuvings, so I can not recommend that model. I would recommend the Omega 8003 8004 8005 8006 or the Samson 9001 9002 9003 9004 9005 9006 models instead,
Hi John - I have the VRT350 and love it. But I have a question about cleaning. The screen, auger and bowl are getting coated with a hard dry residue from the veggies and fruits. I can't scrub it off with a brush and it is building up. Some of the fine holes on my screen are now getting clogged with this residue. Do you have any suggestions for dissolving this stuff off? Should I use bleach or ammonia or something? Thanks.
This is the best juicer review video I have seen on youtube Man you really know your stuff and your style of delivery about the subject flows nicely. Keep up the good work man. I look forward to sifting through your massive collection on juicing and blending uploads
Hi John, thanks for all the videos and comparisons & advice! Since we live in The Netherlands we had to get our 8004 from UK Juicers - machine works beyond expectations!
Great product.! Thanks again. Best recommendation I've seen far ages!
The Omega VRT can make sorbet; but I do not recommend it. It is designed as a juicer. If you choose to make sorbet you MUST pre-cut all your frozen produce before freezing and feed in small pieces otherwise you may damage the juicer. You must also remove the yellow pulp flap.
Great videos, thanks. I am new to juicing and am leaning toward the Omega as a jumping point to see if I am a "juicer." I like the whole cold juicing idea. I see that there is some savings in the 8003/8005 over the 8004/8006- would you recommend buying up for the upgraded auger or starting a bit cheaper with the 8003 to feel-out the whole "juice way?" Again, great videos, full of info- Thanks-
I personally recommend the 8004 or 8006 over the 8003 and 8005. Why? 5 extra years on the warranty and upgraded parts. See the first half of this video:
Hi John, love your site, and youtube page. I currently own an older model Green Star dual auger juicer, but find the veg prep and clean up times to be annoying enough that I end up not using it much. From your reviews, I'm thinking about buying a BMJ330 or vRT350HD. I mostly want to make 75% cucumber/celery, 25% kale(or collards)/apple/carrot/lemon/etc. Noise isn't that important to me. Would you recommend the 330 or 350? Thanks!
John ok i been checking your videos for last month and i have saved about 300 if i wait another month i could save maybe another 50-100 ok so i am here to ask you i am stuck i like the Omega VRT350HD, i been looking at the Samson 9006 and Omega 8006. personally i want to juice wheatgrass and all kinds of fruits and veggies even aloe if i can juice it. i want to just find the best options for me. thanks for any advice i know i want something that is quiet also living in a apartment. thanks
All the machines you mention are about all the same in terms of quietness. That being said, please watch the latest video where I compare the vertical to horizontal style single auger machines:
each juicer yields more or less depending on the item being juiced and the extraction method. Some extraction methods are more effective at juicing certain types of produce. I have produced over 200 videos that show me juicing various produce items in different juicers so you can get a sense of the yields.
Hi John I do have a question about the warranty. I just got the Omega 8004 a few days ago . The box says full 15 year warranty but my owners manual and mail in warranty card says 10 year warranty on parts and labor and a 10$ service charge after the first year from date of purchase . Any idea what is going on with this warranty . I love the omega 8004 but the warranty paperwork does make me worry.
There is a simple typo on the warranty card. According to the box it says 15 years. On Omega's web site site it states 15 years. I have notified the mfg about this, and it still has not gotten changed... On the service charge fee, that is "standard" verbage in the warranty paperwork. If they charge it or not is another story... I havent heard of too many people gettting charged that fee...
so, on the video about cleaning (watch?v=2q50XbF0Db0, very helpful, btw) you say 350 is your favorite model, and yet you don't sell the 350. why not?
i put in 2 calls to omega, left messages for 2 different people, haven't heard back and it's been 4 days.
as responsive as you are via youtube (thank you), the warranty is omega's domain.
10 years is a huge plus, but if i can't reach them now, what about later. confidence in a company is key. the product seems impressive, but omega? frustrating.
We offer the Omega VRT350. we call it the Omega VRT350HD.. Why? It's very simple. The Omega VRT350 contains the upgraded 8x harder HD screen. I refer to the Omega VRT350 as the Omegfa VRT350HD. They are ONE in the same machine. Some people choose to call it the VRT350 and some the VRT 350HD.
Hi John, I love your videos!! you are awesome!!! your videos are awesome!!! I have learned so much from you.....I have ordered the OMEGA 8004....and I have subscribed to your channel....Thank you sooo much!!

5. Its not difficult. We just need a chance. This is the first I have heard of your questions.

Hi John - thanks for all of your great videos. I'm looking at the Omega Nutrition Center online, and I see that there's a price difference between the 2004 and 2006 models, although they are the same unit.
1) Does the chrome cost more based on cosmetics? There's no functional difference between the two, is there?
2) Is it actual chrome, or silver colored plastic?
3) What is the functional difference between 2003 and the 2004/2006?
First off, Im wondering where everyone always comes up with the models 2004 and 2006? Those are not valid omega juicers. It is 8004 and 8006. The 8006 is chrome plated plastic. No functional difference. Its cosmetic only.. that being said the accent parts are black, and they tend to show the stains less than white. no "functional" difference between the 8003/8005 and 8004/8006 they only difference are the material the auger is made from and some cosmetic changes and +5 yr warranty.
@rawfoods I don't know why I remembered it as 2004/2006, but I did, and I guess I am not alone! Is the auger difference you mention anything to consider or would that be a minimal change in the decision making process? Also, I noticed many people online complaining that the auger and screen are not aligned correctly, causing plastic shards to shear off during the juicing process. Have you heard of this? And if so, has this been re-engineered/corrected? Thank you!
The only difference on the auger between the 8003/8005 and 8004/8006 is the material the auger is made. The actual auger is identical. The 8004/8006 is made from a 8x harder material. On the plastic, please see my video at watch?v=KduUyiU6WOc for further information on that subject.

I have a Breville 510XL. Had it for 3 weeks. Juiced with it just about every day. Motor burned out last night. Just orded a Hurom Slow Juicer which is essentially the same as the VRT330 HD minus the nice warranty. I think the masticulating juicers are the way to go. Plus you can make wheatgrass juice and all sorts of cool nut butters and etc.

interested in a vert 350hd BUT can't reach anyone at your site or omega with my questions.
i want to confirm that the auger and screen are made of ge ultem. omega spec sheet says auger is "extremely hard" and doesn't even mention the screen.
your site doesn't list the 350hd model (just 330) and omega's site calls it 350, not 350hd.
is there a video on how to clean the vert (not deep clean).
and if i can't reach anyone now - what if i need a warranty repair??
this shouldn't be so difficult, eh?
