@Amoki86 I have to disagree that science and faith don not mix. In fact, they do. What many people fail to realize is that science actually proves God's existance. The scientific community has stated, for example. has stated that the cell is too complex to have been an accident. It must have come to be by an outside entity. God allows us to gain knowledge through scientific study on His time schedule.
@WJDII Science is a collection of natural laws that are tested and repeatable; a scientific theory a resultant hypothesis based on observations which may not be tested but explain observations. Faith is stepping into the unknown with mere conviction that your right move will be reciprocated. Defining these are important, for the modern theory of evolution (evolve-ment of man from primates etc.) is based on known flawed scientific assumptions, and to hold it inerrant requires faith.

Yes - for I have faith that Creation exhibits the qualities of God, and my faith comes through hearing the message of Christ (Romans 1:20; 10:17). But yet onus of science require the ability to be tested and repeatable - and if you cannot, it isn't science. Mere men, without spiritual eyes and ears, are blind to the Creator by their own sin.

@Amoki86 Josephus was born in 37 CE. He was not alive when Jesus supposedly died. He wrote EXTENSIVELY about every detail of Jewish life, yet for some reason he only wrote 12 lines about the Messiah? You would think the Son of God would be worthy of a at least a full page? A large majority of scholars recognize this mention of Jesus as a forgery. Research it.
But even if Jesus did exist and people wrote about him, that doesn't prove he rose from the dead or was the son of a god.

But it confirmed the existence of a crucified Jesus who also promised that he was God who would resurrect to redeem us, and answer those who seek. It reduces everything to a zero-sum game- he is either a loony or the Son of God. Are you trying to deny him, or are you knocking? He answered my knock and my prayers - those are my affirmation that God exists. He will do the same for those who seek in spirit and in truth.

@Amoki86 Thank you for looking it up. Now that we've at least established that Judaism, Islam and Christianity all worship the god of Abraham we can start to see how everything unfolds. Every different prophet, Moses, Jesus, Muhammad, all had different ideas about who Yahweh was and what he wanted.

Catholic Church "invented" the Trinity in 330AD? Son, the Roman Catholic Church didn't exist until 380AD, while the catholic church existed... after Pentecost, and Trinitarian has always been favoured over other doctrines e.g Arianism. Cyprian (died 220AD) and Tertulian (died 258 AD) both had quoted it.

Even merged His laws with their traditions into Judaism during the 490 years of silence and exile. But God persisted - and Jesus was born, crucified as sacrifice of atonement, then risen. For while you acknowledge that YHWH was "war-like" with His justice and finite mercy, he is also loving, patient, and trustworthy.

@TylerOmega No, you didn't get it straight. Our God is a Triune God - 3 bodies (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) that is One. God established a covenant with Israel that - in exchange for giving and blessing Canaan, The Israelites shall follow God's law, and through obedience Israel is made holy, be a light and the rest of the world will know Him (Isaiah 49). God seek a relationship and partnership with Man, as he does today. When Israel refused to obey, He took it upon Himself to do it.

@TylerOmega As for Christianity - I no longer "hear it" from someone else. If my pastor teaches dogma, he loses his job. Christianity preaches a living God who desires a relationship with you, who wants you to walk with Him humbly (Micah6:8) -I have found this true. His Word is active and living, as I study it the Holy Spirit illuminates me. When I pray righteously, He responds, and sometimes answers them "deus ex machina".

You're creation story was originally told by the Babylonians in the Enuma Elish. The Hebrew people adapted this story as their own during their exile to Babylon. The OT is filled with great stories, some true...some not. It's important to know the difference.

The Bible implied when The Fall happened; but before mortality on Adam the world could have existed for millions of years. The Hebrew word used in Gen 5:3 is "Chayah" - to have life, to continue remain alive. Prior to mortality, Adam was immortal - something that last forever does not "remain alive". But guess you're too busy denying God to notice yeah?

@thehumanzaredead I was thinking the other day about how far America has gone away from God. It literally brought tears to my eyes to see how many people sin everyday & follow Satan. God is great! This song reminds me of one of my favorite images of Jesus: the slain lamb from Revelation, the only one worthy to open the seals. When I'm hurt or discouraged, I imagine seeing this lamb, looking like the actor who portrayed Jesus in "The Passion of the Christ, offering me encouragement to keep going, taking me by the hand and walking with me. Joy and beauty in pain and trials. Thank you Jesus.

The whole point of Deuteronomy, when it was "discovered", was to enforce monotheism and give King Josiah, an excuse to destroy the pagan temples and eliminate the priests who had power over the people. Of course he couldn't do that unless there was scripture mandating it...and then all of a sudden...he found a scroll which perfectly aligned with his political agenda.

Yahweh mercilessly cut down the Canaanites after giving them 4 generations to repent - they didn't. They did horrid things for their gods -eg self-mutilation (Baal) & child sacrifice (Molech). Yahweh also cut down Israelites after they did the same - as promised in Deuteronomy. YHWH isn't war-like at all - he is merciful, slow to anger, AND JUST.

The scientific community has stated, for example. has stated that the cell is too complex to have been an accident. It must have come to be by an outside entity. Faith is stepping into the unknown with mere conviction that your right move will be reciprocated. Defining these are important, for the modern theory of evolution (evolve-ment of man from primates etc.) is based on known flawed scientific assumptions, and to hold it inerrant requires faith.

Science are "facts" that do not allow for personal interpretation outside the (testable and repeatable) data. It allows for neither a faith in Creation, nor a faith in Modern theory of evolution; it is neutral.

@Amoki86 Josephus was born in 37 CE. He was not alive when Jesus supposedly died. He wrote EXTENSIVELY about every detail of Jewish life, yet for some reason he only wrote 12 lines about the Messiah? You would think the Son of God would be worthy of a at least a full page? A large majority of scholars recognize this mention of Jesus as a forgery. Research it.
But even if Jesus did exist and people wrote about him, that doesn't prove he rose from the dead or was the son of a god.

But it confirmed the existence of a crucified Jesus who also promised that he was God who would resurrect to redeem us, and answer those who seek. @Amoki86 Thank you for looking it up. Now that we've at least established that Judaism, Islam and Christianity all worship the god of Abraham we can start to see how everything unfolds. Every different prophet, Moses, Jesus, Muhammad, all had different ideas about who Yahweh was and what he wanted.
Of course since Yahweh isn't real they were really projecting their own thoughts onto Him.
Allah is simply Arabic for "God", in Hebrew it's "Eloah". Feel free to look that up.

The Christian triune God is consistent throughout. We all claim to worship the God of Abram, yet cannot agree what God of Abram is.
Allah the moon god was worshipped far before the crescent, far before Mohammad got his revelations. Mohammad adopted multiple pagan practices (Ihram, Black stone, Ramadhan).

Catholic Church "invented" the Trinity in 330AD? Son, the Roman Catholic Church didn't exist until 380AD, while the catholic church existed... after Pentecost, and Trinitarian has always been favoured over other doctrines e.g Arianism. Cyprian (died 220AD) and Tertulian (died 258 AD) both had quoted it.

God established a covenant with Israel that - in exchange for giving and blessing Canaan, The Israelites shall follow God's law, and through obedience Israel is made holy, be a light and the rest of the world will know Him (Isaiah 49). God seek a relationship and partnership with Man, as he does today. When Israel refused to obey, He took it upon Himself to do it.

My college professors, science newsletters, authors, etc. I try to learn as much as I can about the world around me...of course the only way to learn those things is to ask "someone else" who is more knowledgeable than I am.

@TylerOmega As for Christianity - I no longer "hear it" from someone else. If my pastor teaches dogma, he loses his job. Christianity preaches a living God who desires a relationship with you, who wants you to walk with Him humbly (Micah6:8) -I have found this true. His Word is active and living, as I study it the Holy Spirit illuminates me. When I pray righteously, He responds, and sometimes answers them "deus ex machina".
God promised that those who seek, find. What's stopping you?

You're creation story was originally told by the Babylonians in the Enuma Elish. The Hebrew people adapted this story as their own during their exile to Babylon. The OT is filled with great stories, some true...some not. It's important to know the difference.

The Bible implied when The Fall happened; but before mortality on Adam the world could have existed for millions of years. The Hebrew word used in Gen 5:3 is "Chayah" - to have life, to continue remain alive. Prior to mortality, Adam was immortal - something that last forever does not "remain alive". But guess you're too busy denying God to notice yeah?

I listen to this song all the time on my itouch and in my truck. It's a great song but I got a little used to it. Then I saw this video for the first time.. and my eyes puddled up and I got goosebumps. I have a tough physical evening job with no brothers or sisters around, I suffer with sleep depravity, and I am in a difficult relationship with someone who isn't quite on the "christian" level I wish she was on... yet when I listen to a song like this, it re-assures me deeply.

This song reminds me of one of my favorite images of Jesus: the slain lamb from Revelation, the only one worthy to open the seals. When I'm hurt or discouraged, I imagine seeing this lamb, looking like the actor who portrayed Jesus in "The Passion of the Christ, offering me encouragement to keep going, taking me by the hand and walking with me. Joy and beauty in pain and trials. Thank you Jesus.

Well other than the fact that we aren't talking about the Hebrew and Greek words for "virgin", I will humor you. Matthews gospel interprets the Hebrew word "almah" in Is. 7:14 with parthenos, , which is an accurate, and truly doesn't strictly mean virgin every time. However, it is qualified by the phrase that Mary never knew a man, so it really doesn't hinge on the word.
and yes a Jew wouldn't believe Christ to be God, but it is true that Dt.6:4 doesn't rule the concept out

@zach158 Good answer. But there's another problem. The whole point of Deuteronomy, when it was "discovered", was to enforce monotheism and give King Josiah, an excuse to destroy the pagan temples and eliminate the priests who had power over the people. Of course he couldn't do that unless there was scripture mandating it...and then all of a sudden...he found a scroll which perfectly aligned with his political agenda.
You may find evidence of your trinity in the bible, but not here.

im a firefighter and 2 weeks ago i almost feel out of the firetruck becuase the door didnt shut right. and i was realy close to it but i had a feeling that somthing was pushing on the door from the outside i don't know how i know but i just know. so if u say he isn't real i feel for you becuase i was close to death and i lived. i wear my cross 24/7 and i havent taken it off in months. i love the big guy hes done so manythigs that im finaly understanding.

@vtfan222 So the big guy saved your life, but that same day, let 20,000 children starve to death. He must really think you're special. Lot's of things happen that we can't understand but that doesn't mean a god stepped in and helped you out. Especially considering all the bad things that happen everyday that your god could care less about.

To those that doubt the existance of God, I say this much. I was not supposed to be born. Then I wasn't supposed to live through my first night. Every time I surpassed a deadline it was changed. The doctors eventually gave up on setting my expiration date. They said I would never walk, talk, or amount to anything. They were very wrong. To the Conservative Christians, brush up on Matt. 2:36-40. I am a Gay Christan that will be going into a life of Ministry with the Lord as my guide, not man.

@TylerOmega God is love tyler... :) he doesn't send ppl to hell he wants u to come with him but he doesn't choose for u... u have the choice of everlasting life.... the devil had his choice but he wanted more so God kicked him out and he was on his own so he made a place called the lake of fire... Or the screams of the 42 children he sent bears to slaughter in Second Kings 2:24. Is this how a "god of love" behaves. Not by my moral standards. Why does your "god of love" command the murder and rape of thousands of people in the old testament, for example Judges 21:10-24?

Imagine you had a spider infestation in your home. And you decided to kill them all. If you see hundreds of spider eggs, would you withhold from killing them because "they're innocent little babies!" No.
Now I know this sounds a lot like hatred, but God still loved them, but he knew they weren't going to turn to him. And they were only harming the Christians.
