I disagree with his criticism of Hannibal. Hopkins as Hannibal is an intimidating presence in all three films. He always seems to be the master of his surroundings. It doesn't matter if he's in a cell or on a crowded street: he can and will hurt you if you offend him.

The brain scene is darkly comic because the alternative, stomach-churning realism, would have distracted the audience at a crucial turn that has everything to do with Hannibal and Clarice—not Krendler, who's basically a prop.

I loved the "A Clockwork Orange" book Alex has a hell of alot of character developement and just all round a great book, the movie was also pretty good but nothing like I pictured it. Anyways people should check out the book as well since it is different from the movie and I personally like the book more.

Norman Bates just tops it for me. There is a reason you can trace so many things to that one character. It was a new thing for cinema to see someone like this not watered down and with all the psychological intricacies. What he did isnt what made him scary, it was how innocent he seemed and the thoughts that must have been driving him. Hitchcock knew exactly how to show it
