  • I like it with the skin off too, but the restaurant I go to serves it with the skin. Since they're not open on the weekend I'm going to try to make it myself tomorrow. Thanks for the video, it was really helpful!

  • @godsheals90

    Thank you!

Add some jalapeno if you want some spice in there.

  • I like how you timed the bite with the crescendo !! word!

  • @YoLninYo

    Wow, thank you for that!

  • I'm starving now.

  • Argh! Soo hungry now :( making this tomorrow

  • @roothair1

If you would like some spice, just throw in a jalapeno or two, thanks!

  • I am going to make it now!

    Thank you

  • @lsophial

    Thank you for watching!

  • Are u sponsered by ziploc

  • @TDoTxBEASTMODEx

The only sponsor that I have is YouTube/Google.

I have never been paid by any other company.

  • oh, instead of using drum sticks using skinless chicken breast

  • @meeboot

The chicken breasts will not take as long to cook, and I love the jalapenos you are adding!

  • hey, freit im cooking it again this time being creative by adding chopped JALAPENO PEPPERS. chopped green onions plus yellow and red peppers as i did before.

  • medium chicken?

  • nxt tym wen u do a Jamaican curry, ensure dat u cut up d chicken in smaller pieces, then it wld look more authentic. gud job tho :)

  • lol at the ending..my mouth was watering! im subbing..been looking for this recipe for hours! thanks!

  • Comment removed

  • ummmm..yummy..luv chicken curry....but I cook it my own way.

  • @ freit

yeah, man last night it trun out much better with yellow an red peppers. maybe next time u make a vid u can include them in ur recipe.

by the way TUMERIC AN CURRY POWDER IS 8.69 A BOTTLE here in washington

  • this time around im adding yellow pepper and red pepper i found on another youtube video

  • @meeboot

Oh the addition of yellow & red peppers does sound really good.

I am happy that you really like this recipe, thank you so much :)

  • i'd tried this and im on my 4th try each time it get better and better thanks freitasex your the MAN!!

  • what does the lime and lemon do when cleaning the chicken

  • @ladie2005bug Well here, nothing. In Jamaica the chicken can contain bacteria. Using the lemon and lime helped to kill it off.

  • amazon and grace foods has the proper curry powders my friend.if you dont live in an area where Jamaican spices are readily available then the $5-$7in shipping is worth it. oh by the way cutting each leg into 3rds makes the pot a little easier to handle and distributes the curry inside the chicken a little better. happy cooking

  • i love your cooking style so simple but I know it's good! keep it up!

  • Do you want to know what else I've noticed about cooking this dish. Everyone has a different way of cooking it. So to all those haters that that rated this a a dislike. i know what you really meant was dis i like LOL

  • looks great !!! When i tried making my first Jamaican curry dish it did not come out to good. I guess i used too much curry powder. In moments i was in the bathroom.I will follow your directions next time ;)

  • @OhSoReal07 maybe the curry wasn't cooked properly. What you can do is burn the curry in the oil first instead of mixing it with the chicken.

  • You are not afraid to try different dishes from other cultures. You rock!!!!

  • @pandamadness1

    Well thank you very much!

  • @1prettysoul

Thank you for your nice and kind comment :)

  • Were those really green beans? Looked more like collard greens. In any case, I'm hungry now. Thanks! ;o)

  • @GrapeLola

Yes, I like my green beans cooked to death, lol.

  • mmmm...this looks absolutely delicious!

thank u soo much!... my stomache's going crazy!

  • @chocolatechip213

  • good job

  • i am Jamaican and i must say u did a very good job :)

  • @shillary1

    Thank you!

  • that is too watery its need to be a lil more thick

  • why showing us u eating the food??

  • Looks tasty!

  • Why put the lemon and lime and then wash it .... ? besides that looks mighty fine :)

  • @RippedBox

Actually I am washing it in the lemon and lime, thanks!

  • @RippedBox whenever you cook raw chicken you need to use either lemon/lime or vinegar to wash the impurities away from it. now doing that is how people get food poisoning

  • It may not be authemtiv Jamaican, but I can tell thats delicious Freit! The lazy Jamaicans need to get off their asses and show us all how to make if they keep complaining here! Show us fools! :)))

  • I don't know whether it is Jamaican or not but it look delicious !! :)))) Yummmmmyyyyy

  • I'm sorry but that don't look that hot. Man a carrot and a red pepper would help u out a lot. Grace Spicy Curry Powder is from Jamaica its not really that spicy. Try this:

1 Red Onion, 1 white onion, 3 Carrots, Grace Curry Powder, Tumeric, Parsley Salt, Pepper, 1 Habanero pepper or Jamaican hot pepper, 1 red Bell Pepper, 2-3 Garlic Cloves

My friend shes Jamaican and she pretty much puts the Grace on the Chicken, pours a bunch of Adobo and a bell pepper it looks alot better than what u made.

  • This looks nasty!

  • sorry to say but that's not how you cook a Jamaican curry chicken.

  • I KNOW JJKESCO THAT IS NOT HOW YOU MAKE CURRY CHICKEN. US JAMACINS NEED TO TEACH HOW TO MAKE IT . IM SUCH A TRUE JAMAICAN I SHOULD SLAP THE CRACK OUT OF U AHEY MAHN TRIE THAT

  • im a jamacian / candian/american YEAH BABY DUBY DUBY DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!

  • this is the worst curry chicken i ever saw........you need to be schooled by the true curry gods

  • cool

  • If he couldnt find the Jamaican Curry Powder? Just go to a Caribbean Store, they sell all of that

  • @aidonia45

I finally found some at the asian grocery store, the town I like in is small.

There are no caribbean stores here in this town.

  • Check you out! You did a good job.

  • @jeanh32

    thanks!

  • very nice presentation and mixture

  • i am getting hungry :d

  • @Basskicker93

    Sorry about that :(

  • its not Cur-rey... its Curry... NOT A HATER, but thats how its spoken. You did a great job. I think amercians should eat more Roti and Curry, or some Peppa-Pot....

  • @aidonia45 str8!!

  • Wow. Are you married? :P

  • @SundaeGirl2109

If you have lots of money, I am single!

  • @freitasex

Loool! Depends on your definition of "lots" ^_^

  • indian curry fra jamaica is de bess! wey unuh a say! lol

wa kind a tumeric him a put ina it, we dont use dat?

  • sugah inna curry chicken? lol i fuss mi a hear dat.

  • thats a good try..... i love the way how you washed the chicken with the lime. but question..... where is the yam, banana and dumplin?? just pulling your leg......

  • Lol @ "Awl man, I need to let this cool off for a minute"

  • Listen, I am a Jamaican and I thought you did a ggood job. You probably just need to add some thyme to the recipe and let the sauce thicken a little. You made me a believer when you washed the chicken with lime/lemon. That is a very Jamaican thing to do. Plus, you put chopped potatoes in it.

  • @zippyspring, I forgot to add that you would also need some scallions.

  • @zippyspring

Your suggestions are greatly appreciated, thank you!

  • @zippyspring how do i make the sauce thicker?

  • @TooFacedGlamour, You can add a little bit of cornstarch to the pot or you can add a little bit of flour. If you are using the flour I would take about a teaspoon of flour (or less depending on the amount of liquid you have in the pot) and then put the flour in a cup. Then add a little bit of liquid from the pot and mix with the flour. When the flour is completely dissolved you can put it into the pot. This way you won't get lumps. Hope this helps.

  • @zippyspring Thank you very much!! :)

  • dude please let me live by your house i pay your hire every thing

  • @kapadokyaa12

Good idea, but you are very far away :(

  • I made this the other night it turned out great!

  • @mark19gl

    Excellent and thank you!

  • we just throw the seasoning straight pon the chicken and season it no bag..no scotch bonnet pepper tho ?,the chicken usually gets cut up way smaller tho.

    but nice !

  • @shakarak2008 yo low di mon nuh. yuh nuh si seh di mon a do him ting...lol.

  • "Ah man, I need to let this cool down for a minute", great tutorial, I'll be making this dish tonight.

  • Not too bad...needed a tad more salt....actually I tore the chicken off the bones and jus mixed it with the rice along with a little more salt...YUMMY

  • I am Jamaican and although I don't make it quite that way, I enjoyed the video. That's what cooking is all about...you take a dish and put your own spin out it.

  • @deigot

I finally found a place that sells scotch bonnets, and I love to put one in it.

Thank you for your nice comment :)

  • it looks good to me , I use to make chicken like that all the time with curry, the thing i found out , the left overs taste alot better the next day then the righ of the pot .

  • scallion, thyme, onion, garlic, pepper, carrot, potato, black pepper, salt, oil, chicken season. cut chicken in 1 inch or 25 mm, stir fry all then add water simmer. good to go. to make brown stew same just remove curry and add browning. Memorabilia restaurant n beach bar, Montego Bay Jamaica West Indies. 1876-5852733

  • @1prettysoul

    Thank you very much :)

  • it looks good but this isnt jamaican curry. you're missing some ingredients and the ginger is a little strange to me. and umm i was not aware that jamaica has curry lol so "jamaican curry" isnt necessary any will do as long as its west indian.

  • looks good, not sure about chicken + potatoes though, and then you got the rice to, to much white >.<

  • You definitely get an "A" for effort. It looked like it would taste good. But as a Jamaican, I only want to say that this is not how we usually prepare it (curry powder aside). This is more like how they do it in Southern Asia (I have South Asian friends that have cooked it for me). But again, I really like your efforts.

  • There's a 3-pack of Jamaican Curry Powder online right now (Amazon) for $8.99

  • you can get Grace jamaican curry powder in the international/kosher section at Giant

  • you can get grace curry powder at Giant in the international/kosher section

  • it looks good

  • I suppose this is his variation of what he thinks or calls ‘Jamaican Curry Chicken’, but what happened to the Thyme, Scallion and Scotch Bonnet (WTF Sugar? Oh man, it’s so worth buying actual Jamaican Curry. Any form of Curry substitutions is almost blasphemous. Cut up the chicken into smaller pieces for more flavour and shorter cooking time. One more thing, not all Jamaicans cook the chicken with the skin on, that’s merely a personal preference.

  • Man, that looks awesome. I have tried to make Jamaican Curry Chicken before, but it was completely different! I need to try this.

  • @ApeMonk7

If you do try it, please let me know what you think, thanks!

  • lol..lol..lol..lol..lol..man u go get a raas running belly.the only thing u got rite was d washing...all now u nuh season d bloodclaat chicken u waah guh a prison bout jamaican curry....

  • jamaican curry is very different than indian curry right?

  • I AM JAMAICAN AND THIS IS NOT HOW YOU MAKE TRADITIONAL CURRY CHICKEN!!

  • wow u like it saucyyyy=)) on your rice *)

  • next time, try trinidad curry chicken....better than the jamaican version

  • and why are you jamaicans talking about this man not making the jamaican curry properly his version is probably better tasting than the original.

p.s every chief likes to add in their own style. so don't hate.

  • man you are making me hungry and im watching this at 4am in the morning.. i want that now :(

  • @dkingjimmy

    I apologize :(

  • who teach you to cook this meal?...bcuz thats not how u cook jamaican curried man!!!

  • @muplayaz I DONT KNOW WHAT HE SAY HE COOKING BUT DAT IS NOT THE WAY WE JAMAICAN COOK CURRY CHICKEN. BROWN THE CHICKEN? THIS IS NOT BROWN STEW CHICKEN! SUGAR IN CURRY CHICKEN? LAWD A MERCY!

  • Okay Im Jamaican. And I Have No Idea What Your Doing.. Not To Be Rude.. Cut The Ginger.. In The Curry That Isnt Really A Jamaican Dish.. No Need To Marinate The Chicken In A Bag Just Do It All In A Bowl, Also Cut The Sugar.. All You Need Is : Garlic Powder,Onion Powder, Salt Pepper, Curry Powder, And A Lil Jerk Just To Add Spice.. And Cook ...Man.. You Shoulda Did Your Research And Another Tip Is To Cut The Legs In Half.. Cooks Faster And More Presentable.
