Why there are only a minuscule/small amount of cool republicans? The money is with the "religious right" and they give money to politicians who share or pretend to share there beliefs. Republican politicians believe that in order to progress they must pander to this sector. But they don't and they will only realize this when electorate shuns this side. BTW don't make it an either or paradigm. Its not republican Christian right or republican extreme libertarian there is plenty of center ground.

His answer of Nixon reading the bed time story was funny, but the answer for a current politician was "I guess someone from Nigeria would be fun."
There are many layers in that response. First one is, that it wasn't funny. It was thoughtful. The other thing was that you could tell he wanted to say Obama, but he couldn't bring himself to.
I know he's a hardcore Republican. That party has epic failed this country. He must feel like shit.
