Primus - if they hadn't broken the law, why would they need a pardon? DUH!

Secundus - Republicans started it when Nixon appointed his new VP (Ford), resigned, and then immediately got a pardon from Ford. That was the dirty deal that started the current era of presidential dirty dealings.

1)As far as I understand it. Congress already knew Libby was not the leak but Armitage was. Yet they chose to "politically assassinate" Libby.

2) At least now they are not actually killing folks like good ole billy boy. just trying to slap him with a felony (still better than S.S. death squad).

3) Bush needs to pardon Libby, and the two border agents while he is at it.

4) Bill did all sort of shady pardons before leaving office.....

When you stop to think about it, all the White House really did was reveal the identity of a CIA operative in charge of tracking renegade nuclear weapons as a response to a professional, factually accurate statement published by her husband. Also, Libby was tried, convicted and sentenced. Clinton was not convicted and sentenced. Not the same.
