These guys are progressive metal. Don't call them hardcore punk or progressive rock. They are way to complicated for punk and they're too thrashy and have too much complicated guitar riffs for rock. If you have ever heard rock, pop or punk you'd know these guys don't fit into that genre. It's called progressive metal because its metal that uses complicated riffs that change time signatures.

Like every instrument in this band, the timing is rather complicated and hard to follow, and the vocals aren't AT ALL different. His voice itself is absolutely incredible! It actually takes some competence and focus to appreciate this band. Get used to technicality fellows, because these guys know it...
