I'll also say that the Banshee's I rode were set up for bigger doods than me. I did ride ONE plush one, but he had everything done to it. Extended arms, swing arm and Elka's all around. Also had 60 plus HP. Fucker was rediculus. Every other one I rode without major suspension work was stiff and harsh. Gave me pump and fatigue much quicker than my bike.
I did ride the new Honda 450R. It had GOBS of torque, but the only thing is you sit high. Made me feel like the CG's were just too high for my liking. I'll admit that I swapped bikes with my bud who owned the LTR 450. It felt WAY better, but, you sit too high. I'd still take my 250R. Why? It's 23 years old and still hangs with the new bikes. If I put a 330 kit on, I honestly think it would have the best combo for sand riding.
Sure I can! I did and I'll do it again! When stock, a banshee is nothing but a stiff, harsh ride that beats you up, and it has no power. Sorry Banshee owners but that's facts. I know, I've ridden them many times, and I'll admit they pull harder than my 250R going up a hill WHEN BUILT, but I'll take my Honda through the dunes or jumps. The ONLY thing it has is shear power when built. Period.
I won't argue that with ya, but if I was to put a large bore kit, buy a pipe to match, and have it tuned properly, they would only walk away. If they miss shifted, got a bad start or didn't have a good rider I'd be gone. Some of the powervalve honda motors are out of control fast.
I will admit though, a top of the line banchee, with all the goodies is the bike to have for hill climbing or dragging. My 250R is the better bike for duning, MX and all around riding generally.

Honda is a lot more reliable, has a much higher resale value too, somethin banchee's could'ent touch.

Its not that. i had a 98 Banshee with all the shit. 4'' over swingarm TT5s port and polish and the average crap with works suspension. but my dads friend was selling his Honda 250R 1986 quad
so i bought it, put a 330 CT racing kit in it. with Elka suspension and after market A-arms and its an amazing bike. without the suspension upgrade it handled better then my Banshee.
so i sold my banshee and paid off the 250. and im happier with my 250R then i was my banshee. plus i hated hearing the fuckin kick starter rattle the whole time it was on
with the kick start you just tighten it... and the 4"over swing arm is probably why it was crappy handling... that shit sucks! thats only for drags...
naw, 4 was perfect. i did the swingarm last. did all the performance and suspension first. but it wheelied to much. so i dropped 600$ in a 4'' over. and it handled better with it especially with the work shock on the rear. but idk its just not as a comfortable ride as my 250.
what i was gunna say.. last time i went to china wall there was sandrail just cruising at the top like a dumb shit with no whip.. my cousin was going up it on a friends bike didnt see cuz he had no whip and full on t-boned the guy.. flew straight over it, cleared the whole thing.. ive never seen so many people in my group get on their bikes and ride up that hill so fast in my life.
