One of my favourite films of all time and I think arguably the best intro to a film ever - other competitors - Once Upon A Time in the West, the Steve Buscemi speech from Desperado, and Star Wars. You're a bit tough on Quentin - Kill Bill had its moments even if it wasn't as good a film (or films) overall. I don't have high hopes for his next film. I think Quentin needs to have kids or have some bad shit happen to him - reset his moral compass.
