  • i bought one for my 6th gen classic today and discovered that the radio has no rds on this type of ipod (160 gb) and the remote has problems starting-up the ipod when pushing the play button after a while of "sleeping" (a while like a minute or so). i have to push the button several times to start-up. i wonder if is not that much compatible or i do something wrong.

  • humm, sonds like it might be defective or something

  • i doubt that, because all the buttons are responsive. i wonder if it is an issue of compatibility. also, comparing the data cable and a charge-only cable from belkin, wich plug into the ipod quite easy, the remote cable has to be pushed a bit harder. not that is any risk in that, but just as a note.

i'll play around with it some more these days and see if i get the hang of it or not.

  • @alooper21

Hey, im considering getting one for the same ipod type,

did the remote work when you were playing songs off your ipod?

  • shafman, i wonder if it is an issue or i don't know the philosophy behynd the way it works. i think the second statement is best. the buttons and radio are all functional. the issues appear when i pause the player. after a while i have to click the play button sevberal times to start the music. i asume the player enters stand-by mode, because a long push starts it, however not every time. i still have to see the way it works. final note: the remote does it's job, i'll just have to figure out how

  • another thing is that apple seems to have pulled them off the shelves or stopped producing them, because i had a hard time finding one, and when i found it it was the last and waited for a buyer more than a year. so if apple did pulled them off it is either because they had faults, or they didn't saled too good in my area (and i don't understand why not, since i find it alot easier to skip tracks from the remote instead of taking the player out of my poket then out of it's case).

  • oh, and something that i just remembered: i had one issue once when the volume sounded louder than the maximum. it was back to normal after connecting it to the computer, though, but abnother user here on youtube had the same issue. not like is a bad thing, i like it loud, though it sounded a bit distorted. but still, thought you might want to know...

  • dam this music is making me sleepy:O

  • to bad radios dont come built in with the i pod like the zune

  • how dose it works

  • It's a FM receiver + remote. You only need to attach it to the dock port of a compatible iPod.

  • it looks like the old shuffle. :D

  • Yeah, just a little bit bigger!

  • can i use the controls with my ipod touch 1 gen?

  • I haven't tested it with any iPod touch, but I'd say it doesn't work

  • yes, i have one on mine touch

  • So how's it working?? I'm looking for something like this, but most of them have long cords which is the problem. Well it's not a big deal.

  • it works nice with everything but iphones and ipod touches, as far as i know.. the cord is a lil bit long, though

  • Ahh thanks for the heads up, was planning on using it for an ipod touch =/.

  • Now you can, if you download iPhone OS3 for ipod touch or iphone. it's 9.95$. It works now with ipod accesory.

  • Apple didn't build the radio directly into the ipod so they could make more money selling ipod radio remotes.

  • "But nothing is" haha true ;p

  • :-)

  • daam too bad you need this to listen radio :S

Can you listen radio without this on a 4rth gen ipod nano?

  • I don't think so, sorry.

  • 49$ in the apple store, great unboxing man...the only one of its kind!

  • Thank you man!

  • how much is it?

  • The whistling from the beginning is from Kill Bill.

  • does that work with ipod touch

    i hope so

  • i'm pretty sure it does not work with the ipod touch

  • would this work with the new 80gb 6th generation ipods???

  • yes it does

  • nice rings. ever smash anyones face in?

  • no yet.

this ring was my father's uncle's ring. it has 70 years, more or less.

  • I agree with Winsucker, this is a very well put together video. I have the new 80GB Classic and i was thinking of buying a shuffle for jogging/excersise ONLY, since the classic does get bothersome. Especially when wanting to change the song or make a volume adjustment. THIS radio remote would be perfect, but it's $50.00 US... the same price as actually getting a 1GB shuffle. I wouldn't really mind having 2 iPods, but that was the reason why i got a 80GB classic, can anybody help me decide what?

  • i'd get a shuffle.

    get both if you can!

  • Thanks for your feedback :)

    I'll take that in consideration

  • Nicely putted together (video i mean).

    5 stars from me!

    (gr8ings from Slovenia-btw(EU-lol))

  • hey, thank you so much!

    more videos to come.

    why don't you subscribe?

  • make one without music

  • a white shuffle? why? it's so nice in colors.

would you like me to make a video without music, with me speaking?

  • yeah

  • well, I'm so shy.. maybe I'll make a video with me speaking... stay tuned

  • oh aight kool

  • what? i cannot understand "aight kool" (i'm italian)

  • aight means ok and cool means awsome

  • i could imagine that "kool" stood for "cool", but aight sounded totally new for me! ;-)

  • oh thats alright

  • they should have made the shuffle in this color 2

  • hei can you please tell me whether we can change the remote it dies when it is in warranty and can we set it rite when it not in warranty if it breaks down

  • i can't

  • stop askin for things go find out on ur own

  • Whats the song called??

  • Twisted Nerve, by Bernard Herrmann,

    Song Two, by Blur.

I always indicate the songs I use in my videos.

Just have the patience to watch 'em till the end.

  • I really liked the opening track choice, as for the unit itself, if the radio stations in Chicago didn't have the insane number of commercials that they do I'd gladly pick one up... nowadays I just use the iRadio app on my iPhone whenever near wi-fi spots... commercial-free music stations FTW! :-)

  • i use the radio remote just as a remote... i'm not that interested in radios...

can u give me your iPhone?

    u know, my birthday....

  • this is my second radio. the first one almost died after a year of honorable service.

  • i have this

    it's pretty sweet

    cords a bit long though
