NO...Actually, Eddie was playin eruption in various forms all through out the club years. When they cut it in the studio, they did several takes and then pasted the successful parts together for the final version that is on the record.
They way I see it, I've been listening to him for 14 years. He is the reason why I picked up a guitar in the first place. I see him as I do my vocal idol Chris Cornell. They may not be able to do it quit as well as they used to but whats important is that we neglect the imperfections we hear at their present ages, and remember, cherish their past and legacy. Saw them at Mohegan Sun in CT. Better than ever! Eddie, Dave and Alex put 18-year olds to shame with their physique. Vocals and sound better than ever! Wolfgang rocked. It was awesome to see the interaction between Eddie and his son. They all had a blast on stage, and so did we! Michael who? It was phenominal. I'm going again when they come to the Garden in NYC!!

This is on par w/ any show I've seen Except for hes older and cant run around as crazy...its the same guy. I don't see your point....did he miss notes??? ya. He always has. Are there more seamless players??? always have been. He wrote more guitar masterpieces than any of em. Live guitar is raw. Power. Ed is the king...and hes back.
i've seen him play six times, twice in two days, sorry i offended ya, but he was on during the balance tour.. i'm quite aware of how long he has been around, he's also been methed out, that shit eats you inside out, and it's showing, watch the namm show last year when he demoed his sinature fender guitar, prove his performance hasn't decreased and i'll shut up.

Let's not forget, Eddie wrote the music he is playing. How do we know it is "off". He professed himself to hardly ever playing the exact same notes the same way twice. If we think he is off, he is probably just mixing it up.

tape rolled and that's what we have... he even transcribed it for guitar player magazine complete with the "accidentals"...
