  • i was reading your other posts and didnt see the ques pop up if your rec on a mini DV cam how do you get that great sound ?cause i have a mini dvd player and when i play on electric it really doesnt sound pleasant... by the way love the artist's work and dug the work you did on video.

  • Hi Lenny,

I used a Beachtek Adapter with the Camera: which has Stereo Balanced XLR Inputs and then a Sony Lav MIC a few feet from the AMP.

The Important thing is that almost anything is better than the Camera Mic!

Yeah Joe Diehl is a Monster and a really Humble Nice Guy as well.

  • Dude, that's the tone from Nick Drake's song Time Has Told Me on the blues guitar channel?

Look it up on YouTube. That sound is amazing.

  • cheap guitar with unmatchable sound!! Nothing like the lipstick pickups!

  • Sounds sweet...First guitar was a 57ish Danny Silvertone...would give my right arm to have it back....but, then it might be hard to play it...LOL

  • great blues.. nice hands

  • I love this! I've always had a love for Dano's....and cheap guitars in general!

    Sounds great!

  • do u notice when ever they play a set that is badd ass the picture is blured or obstruced and when this guy plays and it sound not that good its alright so what is he hiding behid the other ones? diff guitar? that he tryin to say is this one?

  • Goldensierralife...thanks for the response.I didn't think it came stock.I bet that guy was glad to get it.I've got some pretty decent stuff, but I know I would love it too.Well...you and yours be blessed.Maybe we'll cross each others path again!

  • At time of 6:15,where did the pick guard come from? Also in the sixties, a black falcon style guitar was sold by sears(silvertone)...even had a bigsby tailpiece if memory serves me right. Our guitar player used flat wound strings. That thing really chorded easy.I've got a strat, but I sure would like to have one for fun.

  • Howdy,

Interesting Info and History. I had The Piick Gaurd made by Subway Guitars in Berkeley- The Guitar sold

on eBay to an Italian who was ecstatic- unlike some of the " Cool" American eBayers.

  • Listen to the sound of this. For only a single p/u instrument, the tone is phenomenal. Very impressive.

  • Joe Diehl kicks ass!!! find some one better!!

  • sooo nice

  • its not real!!!!!

  • if u look at it the right way then it looks sorta like a mix between a gibson LP and a fender telecaster

  • im pretty sure this is the same guitar used in the black keys music video "just got to be"

  • ur playing is amazing. May I ask what song that is? Or if you wrote it yourself?

  • nice sound, nice chops - tasty

  • I recently received one of these, although it doesn't sound nearly as nice. Once it's cleaned up, though, I hope I can bring out that same classic blues. I've got the copper colored one. What model number is that? In all other ways it looks almost exactly like this guitar.

  • Congratulations! Great player, beautiful Danelectro.

  • hey larry, how do you make these vids? what kind of software do i need to get or what do i do? Its great! so is your playing! I am a young blues player who wants to make a vid. can you help a young brother out? thanks man! - wolf

  • Hi Wolf,

Thanks for the Warm Words. Joe Diehl is The Player- check out his website. Search for Joe Diehl Music. I use a small MiniDV Camera and then Input it , Digitaly, into My Macintosh and use Final Cut Pro Software. There are a lot of affordable ways to Go: even iMovie, which comes with Macs is pretty powerful. I just happen to use Final Cut Pro since I use it proffessionaly anyway.
