  • This is a wonderful version of this most melodic aria and very different from the interpretation by the 'baritenor' Ilya Silchukov which I also adore. Your more manly version moved me to tears. It was strange to hear 2 different voice types and I loved both of them. You seem very professional and comfortable recording.

  • Es interesante ver sus respiraciones.

  • Very nice voice!! Great singer!

  • Hatalmas bariton!!!! Köszönöm Kalmandi Mihálynak!

  • Grande!!!

  • I prefer a lyric baritone in this role but this is still very good.

  • i just did this for my senior recital! i think it works for a lyric or a dramatic. it just depends on the interpretation of the performer.

    his voice is amazing!

  • Do you think a lyric baritone can sing this? It sounds pretty heavy...

  • @bridrice I once heard a lyric TENOR sing this beautifully, in the same key..

  • @saintsaens21 That answers my question. Thanks.

  • @saintsaens21 With piano acompaintment maby!

  • Köszönöm,hogy megismerhettem! Csodálatos baritonját hallgatni hatalmas élmény számomra!

  • Bravo. Bravissimo Michele. At last, real emotion and real voice together. My only regret is the poor quality of the recording. But - I assure you, I return to your performance often so as to hear the singing of someone with a real heart and real voice. Bravo ancora.

  • Bella Voce!!!

  • Great voice.

  • Great voice. Great artistic detail. I would have liked a tiny bit more subtle gestures.. but I'm just being picky! Bravo!

  • nice, i'm working there ;)

  • what did you do there?

  • i was one of the guys with the black suit, white Shirt and black tie - and with the Shield "Ordner" - Security in other words :)

  • better than merrill, better than warren, better than bastianini, and better than milnes could ever dream of being.

  • Let's not get carried away...it's a great voice, but not in the same category as those immortals (Milnes being the one voice I might agree with you about) I am quite certain this obviously serious artist would agree with me.

  • Okay...definitely better than Milnes. Almost assuredly better than Bastianini who was overrated anyway. Probably better than Warren, who overdarkened and covered yet still had an incredible voice. Maybe not better than Merrill but definitely could make an argument.

  • Well i wouldnt put this voice in the same category as Milnes, not because he isnt as good, but simply because he is a different Fach, atleast in my opinion. It sounds like he is much more dramatic than Milnes, and although i love Warren i think your right, he would over darken alot, but that was just the nature of his beast, haha. Bravo Kalmandi, wonderful rendition! Having sung this i know that it is trickier than it looks!

  • An excellent baritone; better than what we've been hearing from the Met. BUT:"Better than WARREN"?!?!?! Ha Ha Ha - non e possibile; non esiste mai!!!

  • Excellent

  • Excellent so clean and neat, very good

  • Very impressive.

  • Wonderful! Such a pity that I have missed the Budapest performance.

  • he's now in Vienna playin' "Edgar" at the Rossauer Kaserne - 18th 20th 22nd and 24th of July

  • I know, I am singing there , too! :-)
