AWWWWWWWWWWWWWW I love this show!!!! I used to watch it all the time when I was a kid on friday nights, my mom would make us watch andy griffith, i love lucy, laverne and shirley etc etc
What is the opening hum called? I heard the same exact tune waiting in line at [of all places] to renew my driver license and I can't remember its name except the opening of this show!
How long has it been since anyone's heard "Sinners Lose All Their Guilty Stains"? I remember singing that occasionally as a kid in church, many years ago.
"The last appearance of Floyd the Barber on The Andy Griffith Show was in the final episode of the seventh season. Howard McNear's health worsened and he wasn't able to return to the show for season 8, and he died less than a year later."-WIKI
Does anybody know the name of the episode where Helen calls Thelma Lou childish and they argue then Andy agree's with Helen and him and Barney argue? Haven't seen it in a while.
Bobby Gribble hates Emma Lawrence...can't you just see them waaaay back in school, with him tuggin' her pigtails and name-callin', hiding her pencils, making fun and everything...ooooh, she'll get even with him now!
andy touting obamas health care plan? thats news to me! if andy is supporting it he really dissapointed me! how can anyone in their right mind support anything obama does.he was born in kenya ask his grandmother!
Classic episode! Love Floyd in this one. It is a shame tv shows aren't like this anymore. So glad we have memories of these wonderful actors! RIP Don Knotts and Howard Mcnair.

Lord Jesus Christ still loves and saves from sins. His gift of eternal salvation is free because He already purchased it with His blood.

Funny you should say that. Todays religious people are the problem. So called Christian leaders lie to go to war for profit and kill inocent people.
Andy is what some call a flaming liberal. I think that is what you like about him.

I love the fact that it starts with a Christian song. Most shows wouldn't.

Floyd looks, acts, and has the same demeanor as my late grandfather. I love his charactor. He is so funny without even trying to be.

I love how they always joked about how Barney couldn't sing but on this episode he is harmonizing with Andy pretty well.

In Season 1 & 2, hair cuts were $1.00. Season 5, here - $1.75. What was the minumum wage in 1962?

Be thankful they didn't put The Three Stooges in this episode and called it. "The Case Of The Poke In The Eyes".
This is the closest thing to physical comedy you saw on "The Andy Griffith Show". I love this episode!

@MoodyHyadd It is a great way to unwind after work, good call.
I always think of Mayberry in the way "A Stop at Willoughby" was portrayed in The Twilight Zone.
Watch that episode & you'll understand.
Mayberry has always been my Willoughby.
P.S. Rod Serling cited this as his favorite story from the first season of the series, I agree
