  • it works best with just cheap plain white toothpaste. Dont use gel

  • And i use this stuff on my teeth ????!!!!

  • @tym2pla7 we all do.

  • is that for real???

  • @gaivoron Yes read all the comments of people that have tried it with success!

  • On one hand its awesome because I don't have a lot of money. On the hand I'm scared because I just burshed my teeth

  • @Infiniteobserver27 lol teeth are fine. its what gets rid of the nasty stuff off your teeth. I've only heard about this and decided to try it out and yeah it works

  • I used gasoline

  • @kvn916 Did it work? i heard gasoline is sometimes a little too harsh on the plastic.

  • @jmoyet it worked but it came right back after 2 - 3 months...Gasoline worked the best and quickest for me. But before i tried gasoline 2 years ago I had it sanded and buffed out which took to long and didnt last too long as well.

Oxidation is so common on 6th gen civic!!!

  • @kvn916 Thats one of the reasons i like my cb7. glass headlights

  • @jmoyet Nice! is it a manual? mods?

  • @kvn916 I have videos of it. its pretty much bone stock. theres a video of the old subwoofer speakers i had but i already replaced them.

  • and yeah its manual

  • doesn't work your lights will turn yellow try 3m works great

  • this worxxx i tried it thumbs way up ...

  • awesome! now im going to scrub the hell out of my dogs ass so when she drops ass it dont stink or look like shit!

  • :O

    holy shit.

  • wait what did i say?

  • Thanks!

  • minty fresh lol

  • @vtwinbriggs101 You made me laugh so hard your too much

  • @nikkippppppp wait what did i say i forget

  • good job

  • This is really really helpful.. thank you

  • Lemon juice and baking soda works pretty well too; just don't use a 'greeny meany' scotch brite pad like I did. I got a lot of the yellow haze off but the lens was so scratched it defeated the purpose:(

  • i used colgate total on my friends car and it worked for her old escort and restore it great just doing the same method! thanks for the video

  • what are the pros and cons about using toothpaste to restore your headlights?

  • Do the headlights need to be cleaned or dry beforehand?

  • i wander if it depends on the brand you use.

  • How long does this last? I used one of those sandpaper kits and they looked good for maybe a week. I also have a jetta which seems to get more haze than any other car I have seen.

  • what toothpaste did you use

  • @zippy869 any will do as long as its not a Gel toothpaste.

  • FAKE, watch the video around 1:34. He was not cleaning all the way to the edges of the lens, then all of a sudden the entire lens is clean.

  • @blarivee lol i clean my silver and gold chains with toothpaste and the results are fantastic, i wasnt too surprised when i seen the title. Why dont u try it first before u throw a blind judgement?

  • Yup, I noticed that too. I think it's faked and he replaced the lens/headlight housing.

  • @richardwernst Do it for yourself and see the results no faking here

  • UNBELIEVABLE!!! I saw this video a few minutes ago. I went and tried it on my car and IT WORKS! Thank you so much for posting this video!

  • dude I'm all over this my Toyota has much yellowing on it I will post pics on youtube when I try it I was going to buy the stuff from walmart /As-Seen-on-TV-Fast-Brite-2pk/16939704

  • Sounds like your having sex

  • Thanks for this info......your the best bro!

  • I tried the Toothpaste method on my 2005 Toyota and it worked very well. I was so happy. One of my neighbors has a Dodge Neon and her headlamp lens were very dull and yellow. I asked her if I could clean them w/ the Toothpaste. It was kind of funny because she purchased the car used and she thought the headlamps came that way. I cleaned one of the lamps and she was delighted at the results. Her lamps had far more oxidation than mine and she was so happy. Yes, the toothpaste works!!!

  • @mycatstoki wow thats great! good story. and yeah its also a night time driving safety issue if your headlights are dull. it will only let a dim light out on the road compared to a clean headlight lens. Glad you helped out your neighbor.

  • @jmoyet Thanks for the compliment ! I thank you for posting this money saving, and Safety Measure. You're video is the best of all the Toothpaste/Headlamp demonstrations. Enjoy your day. Oh, one last thought...now the price of toothpaste will go up because of this discovery....LOL :-)

  • @mycatstoki lmao! Your welcome.

  • Don't have a drill or sander. don't have the time. Saw this commercial FAST BRITE. Read the reviews and people dogging it saying this or that and also people saying that they are professionals until I saw something that stuck out from the rest. I used toothpaste and a rag for 10 minutes and washed off and it worked. So I said to myself, hmm why not. I went down to my car from my hotel room with my shirt and the hotel toothpaste and a pitcher of water and it worked. Then I saw this video

  • if the toothpaste gets on the paint will it take the paint off

  • Worked amazingly! =D Super happy!

  • now that would be the 2nd yellow thing that toothpaste can remove besides the yellow on my teeth

    great! =))

  • woooo

thanks man. i just did it on my 02 mustang and shit went poof like a mad mofo. I used a blue chemical that my dad bought but that shit didnt work. with the toothpaste just took five minutes.

  • If your wheels are real filthy and wheel cleaner dont work use the toilet bowl cleaner the works and you will be amazed people believe me

  • does it works on dashboard?

  • Just did it looks amazing took like 5 minutes

  • Quick question: can I use any tooth paste or should i use a whitening one? how about baking soda?

  • This was so simple yet worked amazingly well. I just replaced the headlight bulbs and decided to try this to clean off the yellowish haze on the plastic housing. Screw buying stuff at the store, this did the trick perfectly. Thanks for sharing!

  • thank you ...it worked! glad i saw your post!

  • !!! Make sure you tape off any painted areas! That toothpaste will mar your clearcoat.

  • waah thanks! my headlights look like mad crap! hahah

  • We use this stuff on our teeth, wow. It really does work though, I was surprised.

  • Tooth paste is now the new duct tape.

  • get a tripod you asshole

  • im sooooo going to try that. My headlights look like shit. i will take pics of before and after too.

  • @snoflke26 Cool! Let me know of your results.

  • lol, you ok? you seem to be breathing pretty heavily D:

  • I've used bug spray. Spray it on and leave it a couple of minutes.. then rub off. Dont know if this would damage the lens in the long run

  • brakefluid also works and faster

  • @kalel31er Make a video of it I would really like to see that! I would do it but I don't have a car to test that on. my car has glass headlights.

  • @jmoyet MY CO WORKER TOLD ME ABOUT IT AND IT WORKED.. SO I WILL DEFINITELY WILL MAKE A VID

  • @jmoyet brake fluid will eat your paint off.. just sayin

  • @kalel31er it eats your paint too

  • wow!! great post! just tried it worked wonders!! looks like a brand new headlight!

  • Just tried this, it worked wonders. I used sensodyne toothpaste, just whatever was on my shelf and not being used, I'm sure all of them work the same..

  • After applying the toothpaste how long shoud i wait to rinse it? shoud i use hot or cold water? or does it not matter? thank you :)

  • @greenmaker25 It doesnt matter if you use hot or cold water there is no waiting time for letting it sit. as soon as your done scrubbing you can rinse it off.

  • @greenmaker25 The little "crystals" in the toothpaste polish off the yellow hazed part revealing a new surface. There's no waiting time involved and it doesn't matter if you use hot or cold water.

  • what kind of toothpaste do i use??

  • curious question, does the toothpaste remove the protective uv coating on the healights? i know with restoration kits that's a downside to them with all the sand paper and such which requires more frequent cleaning, and i'd rather not have to buy some sort of coating spray to put on it.

  • i tried this on my brothers headlights of his van and it worked they look like new i used ultrabrite i got from walmart for $1.00 and i was thinking if it could do that to plastic there aint no way in hell im using that on my teeth.

  • Got an ADVISERY Note on my M.0.T. today to renew my headlights because of yellowing and dullness.. I tried the toothpaste trick just now, and the lights are like new.. Thanks very much for the posting (^_^)

  • Yes it works! I think its cause, when scrubbing away oxidization, the toothpaste acts as a regular rubbing compound, just cheaper.

  • wow it works! it really works! thumbs up if u liked that part!

  • worked perfectly on ma 2004 altis that got extremely yellow! just put ur arms in it! u will love the results! thanx for this video! used colgate =]

  • Can I floss the car as well? I had a lot of problems entering the car to the bathroom!

  • It worked great! I can't believe it and I was about to pay Wal-Mart 30 bucks to do this for me. Great vid!

  • LMAO WOW who knew?

  • so i tried it on my Z headlights... and they look amazing. it really worked, i was absolutely shocked. I've been wanting to do this for months, and i just did it in 10 minutes.

  • HOLY SHIT! goin to my bathroom then heading out to my car now

  • Press 1 then 8 to see before and after of the headlights

  • @SIMSKIEE Might need to seek through the video first

  • i heard piss works just fine

  • @JRLOC488 yeah me too . . . funny that . . . .

  • Can i use Any toothpaste?

  • Toothpaste is nothing but a mild abrasive and works on a lot of things. Use it to clean CD's also. I tried it and it works great and only costs around $2.00 compared to a $20.00 or more kit.

These companies for auto detailing and especially AUDOPHILES overpriced crap..pay out the nose if you got it. For me, I would rather pay just 2 bucks.

My brother in-law paid $40,000 for his mercedies and his maintenance bills are unbelievable. I have a Carolla and it get's me from point A to B.

  • Works great i used COLGATE maxfresh cool mint worked awesome first scrub on the head light LET IT DRY then wipe it off the take a wet rag to the headlight then DONE !!! Plus i used the 20 doller restoration kit at walmart last summer and you had to wet sand twice and apply the chemicals twice for each headlight !!!

  • sweet

  • hey but what product do u use?

  • any compound that doesnt eat at plastic and has a polishing feature will work. Toothpaste, some wax, car polish.. anything to remove top layer of discoloration.

  • I use toothpaste on my grill too;D

    hehe

  • that is some clean theeths..

  • Does it works on tailights too?

  • @straydsoul of course.. its all the same plastic.

  • and my cars breath is better too!!!! amazing!!

  • Just did this. It really works! But you should apply more than one coating for a greater effect.

  • its all right ,, but does it give you horsepower?

  • @TheJohnnygallardo nope just minty breath ;D

  • Just did this, it does work really well!

  • just tried this on my aunts ford focus like 15 min ago, really works guys!!!

  • should i get whitening toothpaste or the regular one (8?

  • Sand paper 1000 and a can of clear cote, between the both about 6 dollars. Soak the sand paper in water and sand out the plastic covers for about a minute each. After you let it dry out you cote it with that clear spray and you won't believe the results.

  • Wow, I just bought a 99 Civic...I'm def trying this!

  • im going to try this out lol

  • Now i can use my toothpaste more den just brushing teeth. ima try this after im done brushing my teeth.

  • im gonna try it on my integra. just four circle lights so it shouldnt take long

  • @EdgarBajayras Let us know of the results.

  • @jmoyet it really made a difference! probably not as much as if i bought something at the store! but for toothpaste, it did great. thanks!

  • @jmoyet it works i tried it on my eclpise thanks i dont have a buffer but it looks better then before

  • @EdgarBajayras I got the same problem on my teg too

  • toothpaste will clean the oxidation alright but i think you need to spray some sealant on otherwise it will oxidize again pretty soon... ;)

  • Im going to try that!!

  • can i buy your magic toothpaste hahaha

  • I use Crest with fluoride...less chance of getting cavities!

  • @flipwiggins lol

  • Toothpaste: isn't just for teeth anymore!

  • i think that toothpaste is not just a soft liquid like water, it contains materials and minerals that are little rough that work like sanding paper as you rub it on a surface...

  • i did it to my Honda & it really really works!!

  • OMG it really works!

  • Comment removed

  • wow so your lights are clean and they have minty fresh breath kick ass!!

  • @WheeLMaN3008 yeah. bugs are gonna love them

  • do you have a tripod? or assistant to hold the camera?

  • The headlight has to be really oxidized or yellowed. I tried this with my silverado headlight where I had a little yellowing, and after doing it twice there was no difference. So its really only noticible on a really dirty headlight.

  • It seems like you wipe three times and the whole bottom left is completely clean. 1:31

    ???

  • It didnt work on my car for some reason, but good tip though.

  • toothpaste is abrasive its the same thing as using buffing compound

  • Not gonna last. Been doing it for 5 years.

  • thats cool and all but who thought of using toothpaste

  • Wool pads are super for this, in conjuction with a buffer and compound of course. Great vid.

  • ur head light is now minty fresh ! :D

  • muy bueno amigo god work

  • it works because tooth paste is made out of rocks.

  • @ImSuchaGamer No it works because it's an abrasive. Any type of cleaner that has an abrasive compound in it works like a charm.

  • nice job..you can also use the soft scrub cleanser..the type made for cleaning smooth top ovens..i just did it on my son's 99 accord....huge difference.. cost 5 bucks for a bottle.. autozone had some 3m shit for 25 bucks..

  • My '96 van had yellow clouded headlamp lenses putting out low light for years. Washing just didn't work. Just today, I used some Colgate Total on a wet chamois 'magic cloth'. I propped up the hood to keep off the paint. The lenses got crystal clear after only a minute or so of polishing. I couldn't believe it at first. But, it makes sense when you realize that the creamy style toothpastes have a fine polishing abrasive in them that doesn't leave visible scratches. Thanks for the tip!

  • very very nice, very ingenious idea. i am thinking to try on my car, thanks dude for the tip.

  • looks like aqua fresh, after you do that, just get blue magic lens restore, 1200 or 1400 grit sand paper. Then ur all set. But that tooth past look like it did wonders, Im gonna go try that out. WOW IT WORKS, but im still gonna invest in some windex and try and see if winshield fluid works?!!

  • looks like aqua fresh, after you do that, just get blue magic lens restore, 1200 or 1400 grit sand paper. Then ur all set. But that tooth past look like it did wonders, Im gonna go try that out

  • Who was the first person that looked at hazy headlights and thought, toothpaste would clear that right up. Got any tips for jock itch? LOL

  • @mgrande11 vagisil?

  • @mgrande11 put some toothpaste on your junk

  • yeah liquid sandpaper!

  • BTW, Did you know that toothpaste includes sand? :)

  • And if this does not work on your car try listerine!! Lmao!

  • smells great!

  • Nice man! thumb up!

  • Aquafresh!!! hahaha xD!!! nice I'll try it

  • an electric toothbrush with an old brush head would perfectly complement this process :) I'll try this on my nasty headlights. Thank you

  • Brand New Tip people!!! Before u put the toothpaste for better results use Colgate White Dental Floss!!!

  • Thanks for the video, just saved me $60 +/- on getting new assemblies. I just did it on my 99 Nissan Sentra with Arm & Hammer toothpaste (has baking soda in it as well) and my headlamps looks better many times over.

  • Your headlights will smell minty fresh too! I might be trying this in the future lol.

  • @studebacon as soon as you wash the car it goes away, i recommend going to auto zone and purchasing the turtlewax headlight resoration kit for $9.74 and following its process, takes no more than 40 min and you will have restored headlights for 4 years plus, because it removes the UVdestroyed layer of platic, buffs, and seals it.

  • I used Novus scratch remover #3 (for heavy scratches) and it removed the oxidation and it got rid of the yellow and made my lights a bit brighter. I was going to replace both lenses and now I don't need to. Thanks for the tip!

  • nice work....... i thought it was cat in my home.......... just going to feed them

  • i just did this, it actually worked great!

  • andddd ... now its minty fresh ;)

  • it is cause the toothpaste has abrasives in it (just like any rubbing compound) which is how it cleans your teeth

  • So can I Use any toothpaste on my Headlight's??
