  • Great vid! I learned a lot! I am fellow naturally curly gurl too!

  • He was LEGIT and then the girl came through and was parting and combing for him that was not only amazing but it looked as if it went by quicker!

  • its so sexy then u see a guy that does hair so well

  • you did an excellent job Taren...

  • All the focusing in and out with the camera is making me nauseous!

  • love the hair rules salon! My brother used to work there and i had the opportunity to meet Dickey and the other styles ! Great salon, great people, and great products. ! (BTw.. Natural for 12months <3)

  • That girl was beautiful!

  • @cmlalfer I agree. She was gorgeous with both styles.

  • im not even half way through this vid and he is already my fave stylist out of this series

  • What flat iron did he use? Both styles are awesome! =]

  • Soooo much better than Devachun Salon!

  • Geez, he makes it look so effortless. So many great tips in this video. I am happy to see more and more hair stylists really learning about not only how to style kinkly/tightly-coiled hair but also the proper care for it.

  • He did an amazing job! Her hair looks great.

  • He his AWESOME i would put my hair in his care any day ;-) NICE the way he cares for the hair

  • enjoyed! is the blow your curls the only product he used? did he put anything before flat ironing? thanks for sharing.

  • @chaznic30 Hi! Yes-that was the only product he used prior to flat ironing it.....

  • he had somebody parting the hair for him! he runnin it! that's what im talmbout! lol

  • Wow. I loved this can't wait to try it out

  • this video is awesome!!!!!!!! the information was great!!! Thank you for sharing!!!

  • Great hair series, covering all textures. I'd love to know how much all of these styles would cost and I'm sure other are wondering the same. Maybe add the expected pricing in the info box?

  • Love the video!!!

  • Great information but a new camera man/ woman is needed!

  • I Want A Appointment With Him NOW !!!! He's a Natural Hair God ! lmbooo .

  • Wow!!! That was great! I'm scared to wash my hair daily. Its already dry and corse. Wouldnt that cause breakage on corse hair?

  • @mssmtaylor1 the breakage comes from hair being dry. if you don't want wet or co-wash daily look into the baggy method which uses your body heat to reintroduce moisture back into your hair.

  • @MtlQwn

Thank you for the tip. I have really only done the baggy method when deep conditioning my hair. After reading your comment, I decided to do the method for an hour using almond oil, a little activator spray and water. It actually worked pretty good. I'm going to do this a few times a week, maybe overnite. Thanks again!!

  • @mssmtaylor1 You're very welcome, I was having the same issue with my ends being dry, frizzy & breaking. I've been doing this for about a week over night & have seen some good improvement so I felt is was my duty to share it as a possible aid in your styling arsenal, lol.

  • @mssmtaylor1 He actually suggests co-washing daily-not shampooing. I co-wash and wear wash & go's on a regular basis and my hair is very moisturized and healthy. The importance is using a good moisturizing conditioner.

  • @mssmtaylor1 cowashing is okay...it's the sulphates you should be worried about. Sometimes I just wet my hair without any shampoo and conditioner

  • I love him

  • omg he did not just do all of that! i learnt alot

  • Not to crazy about the idea of wetting my hair everyday, especially during the winter months

  • Very Informative!!!

  • He is a great stylist because he understands the unique needs of kinkier hair - great vid :)

  • Wow! I really learned a lot from this vid! =D

  • He has done my hair! LOL

  • Luanda is so cute!

  • @GwendolynRaine Thank you!

  • By FAR the best review. Honestly IMO from what I've seen so far of the others, there were full of crap except maybe one. The styles were childlike and an all around Fail. Mr Dickey really understands what is needed for our hair. He did more with her hair than the other folks did with their models. I fully enjoyed this video and the wealth of information that was received. I'd love to get my hair done by him and Only him. :) Team Taren and Dickey!!

  • OMG MY GIRL LUANDA!!! AND DICKEY!!! I LOVE HIM!!!

  • Anthony Dickey Rocks!

  • This was perhaps the BEST of the holiday hair reviews. It was educational and the styles were cute. You could tell that the model wasn't "faking" her delight with her hair. Notice how she's touching her hair with the straightened style.... His point about moisture before heat is key. I will make sure I deep deep condition before using heat.

  • @goblueangela Thank you! I love love loved my hair!! I got nothing but rave reviews when I left the salon :-)

  • Not sure what was done differently, but I could hair both you and Dickey very clearly. Great job.

  • very very nice

  • VERY NICE!!!!!!

  • VERY NICE!!!!!!

  • I don't quite understand his point about how roller setting kinkier hair is worse and requires more heat than what he did for the last style. For type 4 hair, the flat iron should be at least 420F, plus he dome dried and then used the blow dryer beforehand; how is that better than roller setting, dome-drying and then blow drying with a concentration nozzle?

  • @bxrosie04 He didn't dome dry and then blow dry. He blow dried from wet with the comb attachment then flat ironed. 2 quick steps compared to 3 long over-manipulating steps. You might want to watch the vid again :) He explained that rollersetting doesn't typically get the hair straight enough, and that when it's time to flat iron you have to work harder to compensate for that. For him the blowdryer and comb attachment makes it easier to get the flat iron through the hair w/1 pass.

  • @lovehatebeauty2010 I agree with him on the rollersetting but if you check out one of prettydimples videos, you can rollerset, let it airdry and then flat iron. Even less heat. I've tried it on my 4b-4c hair and it works fine. I think the key is moiturising your hair

  • Very nice! 3 styles in one. Love it...

  • This man is a genius.

  • He did his thang! Love it

  • Wow, he knows his stuff. Love it.

  • he can do my hair anytime..i liked both styles!

  • The best holiday hair review. I liked both looks and her hair did look very moisturized. I totally agree with what he was saying about roller setting on tighter curl pattern. Tried it on myself and it just does not work, to much brushing trying to get it smooth. When I won't it straight, I just blow dry and flat iron.

  • He knows his stuff! I love him! He is so knowledgeable and has the skills! I need to see Dickey!!! The best of the hair holiday hair reviews by far!!!!

  • awesome!! im going to make an appointment

  • he knows black hair! how much does he charge for to straighten?

  • love it and she is beautiful!

  • OMG I love him! .. This was very informative :)

  • Awesome Video.

  • Yoooo I need that flat iron in my life!

  • I have wanted to go to his salon for YEARSSSSSSSSSSSS!

  • she is a beautiful lady....love what he did w her hair!!!!
