Is this a better bike than a wr250r yes i have ridden both the wr250x is fun but does not have the nuts that the drz400 has handling is about the same i was not really impressed with the suspension of either but i am a big dude 6'2" 260lbs so the drz was a bit better thw wr is a great beginner bike or something that your girl would look awesome on while yuo are on the drz

@m0tyrider My best advice would be to take everything slow. Put in as much mileage as you can to get used to the bike before you try to ride too crazy. HAHA! It will come to you eventually.

@kenny1020304050 HAHA! My best advice would be practice a lot, but take it slow. Start by being smooth and applying the brake slowly until u feel the rear wheel come up a little. start small and get the wheel higher as you get more comfortable.... I hope this helps, it's hard to explain...

@zth1994 1 tooth down front sprocket is all I do to mine other than pipes sometimes, but I just got an 09 and I am not doing a pipe this time, only from sprocket.

I'd say if your tall, like me then supermoto is the way to go. i road my friends cbr and it was super crammed, and then i hopped onto my friends KTM620 and it felt perfect. i am 6,3 and 200LBS

your gonna be better off with a v strom or something along those lines. These bikes have high clearance where you gotta stand on your tippy toes while stopped or lean the bike. suspensions is really soft for off-road, but prob not so much for a heavier person.

This bike kills a WR250X in every aspect. They have amazing low end torque and great manuverability, and awesome street performance. Throw some knobbies on one and you will have a great trail rider also.

hey guys i have a 2001 drz400e (offroad) that i converted to street via baja kit. i love my bike :))) it has both sprkets changed for speed and only can cruise 55 or 60 ... also i have a yosi rs3 and i rejetted the carb and took the insert out of the air box. my dad has a dr650 and he cant near about touch my bike up to about 80:) hes workin on his though . cant stand bein slower than me

How is the gas mileage?

How about maintenance? Easy? Not a ton like an R6?

get an extra set of rims and tires for dirt. gas mileage will be better than ur r6. maintenance is prob 10x easier. 1 cyl, only four valves to adjust, 1 carb to maintain, u don't even have to balance it like a multiple cyl engine! panels are dirtbike plastics and easy to come off. i heard this thing is a tank. its easy to wheelie and stoppie because of great torque and large suspension travel.

bad ass. its pretty high tech too and a bit quicker than my zzr250 stock. its got TI valves, fuel injection great suspension and tires. i would get it if i had the money. but then again i wouldn't cause i don't think u can double ride on it and i like having girls on my bike :) lol

it is possible to double up on the wr it has rear passenger pegs on it its just a matter of how big you are and how big the girls is.

i have an 09 drz and its ok for hwy use at 70 if you punch it it wil go but after about 75 why it starts to go up slower but you could possibly get a different sprocket size in the front or rear to give it more top end that might help it, but hwy use aside it is an incredible bike!

hey man! nice vid, I got a 2005 drz sm not too long ago, and just been practicing my wheelies myself. ive got the power wheel down pat, and can go 1st through 5th, but still not comfortable slipping the clutch haha. does the pipe provide a little more power, and is it noticable when your hitting the throttle?

Yes the slip on pipe will make a very noticeable difference in your bikes power on the bottom and top end!

Very good starter bike! I don't know exactly what it revs up to because this bike doesn't have a tachometer. Most supermotos don't have a tach on them. It has plenty of gear in first and second though!

this is a bomb first bike i bought one at the start of last summer an 05 and just loved it first tops out at around 25 second at about 40 to 45 but that is really pushing it. and it has plenty of power i can get her up in a wheelie in third and the wheelies top out about 65. i am acually going to sell it because i want fuel injection. this bike will studer a bit before it takes off when the gas is really thrown on

sweet vid man but i prefer the lightweight, offroad setup klx250 over the heavier, more awkward, more street oriented setup of the the drz 400 and other bigger cc bikes...the klx250 is also got decent pop for a 250 and its still stock...i imagine if bored out to 300 it would be probably just as fast the drz...for some reason they only make the lower cc bikes like hte 250 offroad setup AND street legal...the bigger ones are ALWAYS geared for mainly street purposes....
