hi! hey have you seen Mabakken channel? is very good! however ,it may be dangerous because of the security measurements ! but i do have intellectual curiosity!
Hello NurdRage!!I think this is a very good idea. I'm from Spani and I have also a science channel called Cluster. The only problem: It's in spanish. You can take a look if you want. Thanks for all!!
I think it's a very good thing you are doing!; Promoting small science / chemistry channels ;) I will appreciate if you would take a look at my channel / chemistry videos. More is coming (still in HD :)
The sad thing is, most youtubers looking at chemistry/physics related videos are looking at explosives and other destructive experiments. I'm one of them, but I'm also interested in the science of the experiment, it's so much fun.
There used to be a large number of very nice chemistry videos posted on "Science Tube". They were done in Germany, at a German university. They were still on line until maybe 6 months ago. The site now seems to be dismantled and is selling a few things...can't tell - but it used to be a really wonderful resource. We are so happy that NurdRage exists now...but very sorry Science Tube seems to have disappeared into cyberspace!
Great Idea! Maybe the community would also grow if the "scientists" make more cool stuff which more people can do at home with some household chemicals!
great idea, and thanks for the invitation to your "channel branding box" - i'll gladly accept it! :)
one thing though, how did you add that box to your channel? call me stupid, but i cant find my way around all this clicky-colorful mess of chaotically distributed settings here on youtube.
It's only available to YouTube Partners, regular users aren't able to get it.
However there is a hack that lets non-partners use it. But i'm not certain if using the hack abuses the terms of service and may result in account suspension. If you want to know anyway i can message you.
As for the box, i'll add you in momentarily, my only request is that you too also create promotional video for other science channels :)
darn, lol. well, glad to hear it wasnt my fault for not finding that option, then, at least. ;)
too bad though, as i would've liked to create a box for it like you did. meh. the only way to do it would be to UNSUBSCRIBE to all non-scientific channels, and then put "my subscriptions" up on my channel again.
i wouldnt know how to do a video about it without it being utterly boring, e.g. "channel about chemistry experiments" "name" "link to channel", repeat. i know i wouldnt watch that, lol.
what was your idea of a "promotional video", though?
anyway, i think the only reasonable way is having a LIST of channels OR a list with example videos from other science channels (playlist). hmm.
right, i edited my subscriptions to show on my channel page right below the videos and only contain scientific channels as "promotion", too.
i'd like to add a note about that where i currently put all the ☣ and ☢ symbols, but i honestly cannot find that editbox anymore (it's no longer under "profile setup" nor "edit channel" dialog). if anybody can help me finding the edit box, thanks A LOT in advance. i really hate the changes youtube made, i cannot find a thing anymore here. -_-
my idea of a promotional video is naming a channel, saying what is interesting about them, what they do, commenting on their style or quality, discussing a little bit of their history (if you know it) and then finally linking them. Kind of like a product review.
ah, i understand, just one channel - i thought you meant more like an "all around" link, sorry about that. you know, same as people who know me would find you because of my "subscribers" list, and vice versa because of your "more real science" list.
anyway, wont be easy, but as i actually personally know two people who have a science channel here on youtube, i think i could do it. i'll give it a try.
ps: what about making a youtube group where those - and only those - promotional videos get posted to, so we have quick and easy access to the list of science channel reviews?
Hey man, I appreciate the work you've been putting into developing this science demonstration outreach project on YouTube. I've been inspired by it, and I hope that we can work together in the future. As a recent new-comer to YouTube, I'm just starting to get together my materials and resources. No videos yet though. My concept is to build a global online network community for young aspiring scientists through promoting these kinds of experimental videos.
I know i'm posting way too many comments, but I have another question.
Is there a limit to how many videos we can respond with, 'cause I have lost's of experiments I want to show you. I saw what you said about posting experiments that havent been done before. My next two videos are very original, I have not put them on yet but as far as I know, they cannot be found anywhere on YouTube.
bro! is a great iniciative, however with all this fear of knowlege getting to the wrong hands or being watch as someone with dangerous knowlege ,I'm personally affraid to show anything ;I know that intelectual curiosity is the best spark to any new advancement . I'm kind a scare!
Continuing the my previous message, I realise many people don't have the required materials for many experiments.
You can always suggest me videos you'd like to see. I have a lot of chemicals, including rare ones, such as phosphorus, hydrazine, many metal salts, even KCN (wich I am gonna use to show you the flame of cyanogen burning), just suggest an experiment, and i will see if I can do it on video.
Also, i'd suggest the variety of experiments is changed. About 50% of all experiment videos are a sum of a few reaction, such as manganese heptoxide, decomposition of hydrogen peroxide, KMnO4+glycerin, etc. I think we have enough of these videos, so it would be nice if try to put on videos wich are not yet are hardly are on YouTube.
Great plan, I hope everything works out well. Maybe if I get some ideas/time/money (funny how all three of those are tight right now) I'll work on something :)
I hear that. I have one video of theoretical chemistry that I did long ago, but I have yet to do experimental chemistry. I wish to join your ranks and will try to start some newer ones. I'll begin by just analyzing pure substances, then move onto the mixing of them.
Please take a look at my videos. I do all my experiments at home.
It's currently very cold, but I have many upcoming videos, including combustion of cyanogen, demonstration of ICl vapour and the decomposition of HgO.
I would, but I don't have a million dollars to spend on science stuff. And if I did, it would probably go in to making experimental weapons, like a PVC grenade launcher, or a thermite grenade.
Plus i don't know much about science. im only a freshmen.
yep....more!...more!...we are dumber than a sack of anvils....like those browns gas and energy guys also.....and dont forget our magnet heads.......but theres totally NOT enough chem dudes....cant wait to see more...................................have fun capt.k.f

this is separate from an intellectual/ conceptualist/ theoretician in that an experimentalist takes the next step to test a theory.
It's also separate from a mere DIYer in that an experimentalist's goal isn't necessarily trying to save money, they just want to see the theory in action.

I agree with many here that periodicvideos does some great videos. Also, I think it is important to note a math channel like MathTV. Can't do chemistry is you don't understand math.
i'm working on making an experimental physics video but me being a poor white 12 yr. old in texas i cant get my hands on 100 pounds of 10-pound-force rare earth super magnets and an electrical turbine
you sound like mortal kombat voice guy just not that evil, in cheistry in a test i spelled lithium wrong, and aluminum, i got a 98% highest marks are fun :)
Bionerd23 has a lot of good videos on basic radiation sciences and experiments. I have learned quite a bit from her and it certainly inspired me to study various sciences on my own in greater detail.
unfortuantly the channel Cforchemistry is not very good. the experiments themselves are okay but he uses copyright music in all his videos. i don't think we should promote someone who does illegal things like that. plus he's just doing to become a partner, no real purpose except for money.
Well, not to be selfish, but I post videos of the element samples in my collection. Demonstration or not, at least I show the world the puzzle pieces of the universe... I'm also going to start posing videos with tecnical information about each of the elements.
MyLittleChemistryLab only got five videos, but they are quite good quality, and he explain the experiments they show...
Anyway, I agree that the science related channels need support! Keep it up!!!
I'm doing a video series about the most important chemical processes to history. I've already finished my fermentation documentary, next up, the haber process.
