  • This song is very good. Wonder they did not put it in the original 1972 album. The Brazilian rock band from 70's: Rita Lee & Tutti Frutti has a music very similar to this: "Agora só falta você" from 1975. It's worth checking

  • This was a latterday gift I never expected from the Stones at this point in time. Keith's souful riffing, Charlie's crashing cymbols on the accent minor 7 chord, Taylor recapturing that magic. Most of all, Jagger is singing like he means it, like he's telling someone something really important, like an admittance that he messed up and regrets it for life. Beautiful. This is the Stones.

  • BUEN VIDEO , SALUDOS DESDE URUGUAY !!!

  • Stones einfach Stones....Klasse,was soll man sonst schreiben ?

  • these vocals and 98% of the instruments are from 1972... not new.

  • @sandwah9 Vocals from somewhere 20fucking08, buried convenient low in the mix. Sir Michael might fool you,but not this piece of shit.☠.

  • a great song. have you ever been so absorbed in someone that you love them beyond reality?

  • turd on the run? casino boogie a bad song? you should be replaced!!

  • I don't know why they didn't put this on the original, there are a lot of bad songs it could have replaced, such as Turd on the Run, Ventilator Blues, Casino Boogie, etc. I think overall Exile is overrated but it has some great gems like Rocks Off, Sweet Virginia, Let It Loose, and Soul Survivor.

  • Great song with excellent gritty Cockscker Blues era footage

  • AWESOME!!

  • I thought you needed my lovin'

but its my heart that you stole...

  • 7 people love to eat shit.

  • i can understand why it wasn't released back in the day, because it sounds very much like "tumbling dice" (and that is the better of the 2 songs) -- on its own though, it's a pretty wicked tune ;)

  • if rock mattered and had radio outlets this would be a huge hit......I thought you wanted my lovin but its my heart that you stole!!!....I thought you wanted my money but you plundered my soul....fanatastic!!!

  • love this song, something special about it.

  • Thanks for sharing!

  • STONES RULE!!

  • @stonerockermen What the hell is the point of trashing one great band in place of another? Why can't we just enjoy both and be happy that there's that much more good music out there and not seclude ourselves to less then we could have?

  • Songwriting is a lost art and they got in and out in 4:05 seconds and left us a message...

  • Sounds like Keith walking around barefoot @ nellcote early morning before a fix and some cereal.

  • great song

  • @stonerockermen come on!! The Stones rock, of course... but let's not be offensive to the beatles!! They're both great and sooo different...

  • @stonerockermen AGREED THE BEATLES ARE NOTHING TO RAVE ABOUT THE ROLLING STONES ARE THE BEST

  • Its without doubt one of their best songs. I love it.

  • One word decribes this band. PERFECT.

  • Wonderfull Song♥ That's the best Rock 'n' Roll Band

  • @stonerockermen Whoa there, Chief. Don't be coming in here to put down the Beatles. If you want to do that, go to the "I Am The Walrus" video, and complain there. Stones. Beatles. What's not to love?

  • Great song "The Rolling Stones"

  • Wow, this video is mesmerizing! Awesome sound track of the Stones... but the visuals of this video are totally amazing! This must have taken hundreds, if thousands of man-hours to assemble and edit. I gotta learn how to do that! Awesome job! Rock on!

  • is this song new from the rolling stones ???

  • @naselli8 outtake from 1971 exile on mail st. released 2010

  • After Exile the rolling stones should do a deluxe edition of goats head soup putting on the first disc the original album with two bonus tracks "Criss Cross Man" and "Separately" and on the second disc the live album "Brussels Affair 1973" which has a perfect sound because it's a Fm Broadcast. For example U2 did this with "The Joshua Tree" including bonus tracks and the complete "Live In Paris 1987". I hope the stones read my advice it would be amazing

  • fairwell tour next year, boo hoo get yer tickets im gonna see em as much as poss, greatest band in history

  • the best rock band in the world!

  • A bomb could have exploded beside my house in the past 4minutes and 5 seconds and I wouldn't have noticed. I don't think i've ever seen or heard anything like this ever. The very first time I heard this song I loved it, something like that doesn't come along every day - Absolutely amazing! <3 The Rolling Stones

  • @Tsubakiee You´re absolutely right! I´m looking for a Stones compilation material for my parent´s 30 wedding anniversary and this song goes right in! They both grew up with the Stones and I´m sure they´re gonna love it! Can´t wait to be the DJ at the party :-)

  • I love Mick Taylor's smooth guitar on this.

  • this is one of my favorites, even if it is a reject track...

  • Great song..too bad they didn't take time to make a real video. This one is terrible.

  • i love exile more than anything

  • What a GREAT tune!!

  • 100,000th view :o

  • Ironic.

Muddy Waters, Big Mama Thorton, Chuck Berry, Billy Preston and TOO many others could sing "plundered my soul" right back at Mick & Keith.

" I thought you wanted my lovin' but it's my SONGS that you stole..."

  • I t must be the Stones to get a 70s song on top 10 in 2010... THAT is a revolution (no pun intended with the Beatles) hehehe

  • a real gem , the Boys are back on the top

  • Even as an outtake, it has a better melody, vibe etc than what you'd typically hear on a Stones album these days.....come on Keef, where's this country album you promised us years ago?....ok, not promised, but still....can't wait forever.....hang on, I hear a song!!

  • Wow! The Greatest Rock'n'Roll Band in the World, places a hit in the Top 25 Rock Charts for the 6th consecutive decade!!!

  • I get the feeling that a lot of people who like this song would have a different opinion if it were released a new song on a new studio album.

  • the rolloing stones back yeah!

  • Heat Of Stone (L)

  • the only band that truly gets me moving. this is much better than most of the songs on goat's head!

  • Just LOVE IT!!!

  • Great song, but AGAIN Mick & Keith didn't give Mick Taylor a credit, this time by letting him out of the pictures in the video clip. Haven't they learn anything the last 40 years? Are those two still too proud by giving other people some credits as well? Shame on them.

  • @hjheavenly

You can spot him at 2:23. Better than nothing.

  • BEST. SONG. ON. RADIO. TODAY!

  • GREAT TO SEE THAT BILL & MICK T. WERE FOR THESE ' NEW ' SONGS !

  • Sad that the best new Stones stuff in 35 years was done 35 years ago!

  • dawn this song is like wauuuuu lol it really inspire me to do write more songs is simple magic , genius drop dead with the lyrics and music mick taylor owns !

  • I love Exile on Main Street, but beside Tumbling Dice this may now be the second best song on the album. Wonder why it was left off the original album release, GREAT song. Thank you Rolling Stones.

  • The irony in this is that Mick J said Exile was overrated! That is because it really is Keith's album. He shines on this gem. Mick sings like a man possesed but this album came out to luke warm reviews. The follow up Goats Head Soup sold much more and had a huge hit with 'Angie". Keith barely played on THAT album. He was wasted. Now Exile is #1 again 40 years later? Best album they ever made period!!

  • Can't get this song outta my head.

  • Great song, like it very much!

  • Best Stones song in 30 years! Yes Mick's vocal is new (his timbre is lower than it was 40 years ago, it's obvious it's a new vocal), but he still sounds great! Really, the 10 "new" songs make the 2nd disc the best "new" Stones song in 30 years! I can't recall the last time I listened to a "new" Stones record over & over w/ such enjoyment!

  • pure Stones. I'm just 20, so this remastered versions are great for me, so i can get those old albums without much effort! Just getting Tommy took me months! and it was so expensive (i had to get it from the states!). But it was also lovely!.

  • why would any fan moan? aren't we just glad to hear this? isn't life better for having heard it rather then it never ever surfacing save for a dog-eared demo when they're all much, much older and so are we?

  • Great song. Typical Stones, the sound I like best.

  • The new verion of exile is excellent, new songs and old, don't let the critics fool ya, great album 10 stars!

  • love the stones

  • Wait is this a track from exile period or a re-recorded track from exile period? cause Jagger's voice sounds closer to that of the last 2 decades or so

  • @louiskazooie

this is a remake the stones recorded for the new release with wyman and taylor returning as guests to record their tracks thats why it sounds more like the current stones sound

  • I don't think differing opinions are welcome on Rolling Stones boards. :) Jagger's voice is really annoying on this song. But still, he's God to me!

  • Mick Taylor, Master guitarist. With greatest rock and roll band of all time.

This is the Stones as they ought to be remembered; emperors while they still had the clothes, hollow men before the tappers' hammers, princes of darkness before the lights came up.

  • i love ronnie wood, but mick taylor gave stones much more those times.

    It's a pity he left.

  • @tdJagger Mick Taylor was in a different league than Ronnie, but Ronnie came up with the beat for Hey Negrita, and for that alone he will forever be cool.

  • ugh - crappy vocals - what a turnoff - as if the stones 2010 could improve on the stones 1972 - what a ridiculous conceit - offer both the original and new and improved and put it to a vote - as if anyone would want one note of tumbling dice reworked - as if mick is as sexy today as he was in '72.

  • @kitchawan You might think the vocals "crappy" but what I hear is Mick singing with abandon as he did in those days with little thought of vocal preservation. I think it's a good job considering most people couldn't come close 40 years later.

  • sounds like a new vocal to me and that isn't good. .......either it is the real deal from `72 or not. I will stick to my original double LP.

  • @taariqtaariq I totally agree, his voice doesnt sound like it did in 72. It sounds more like his voice in "Don't Stop".

  • the lyric is actually "I THOUGHT YOU WANTED MY MONEY/ but you plundered my soul"

  • This is the classic feel of the Stones that hooked me years ago. I'm totally addicted to this song. Reminds me of the old days after an all night bash and the crazy, wired, early morning feeling with nothin' left to lose.

  • @rippenstein66 ." I'm totally addicted to this song@ - well done! so do i!!! can't stop listening it. and i don't give a shit when he did it - in72 or 2010.

  • awesome!

  • @beggar81

Totally agree, he sounds a bit more mannered and less natchural these days. Teh backing singers sound new, too

  • Brilliant, as I expected. Even the forgotten tracks from that glorious album are better than 99% of most bands best efforts. Stunning.

  • The Stones are the best, with Taylor indeed...

  • Excellent video and great new song!

  • very good

  • I know Mick and Keith are the Stones, but jeez, maybe just ONE shot of Mick Taylor? It's been 35 years and they're still pissed off at him? Time to get over it boys. They were nice enough to put one or two of Bill Wyman in, I guess 30 years in the band qualifies you for that.

    Great song, though.

  • Is it me, or does this video bring new hopes in seeing some of that rare '72 footage surface in the near footage? Not a whole lot of live footage appeared in the CS Blues movie, but it looks like Franks got a lot in the can that could be released? I have a feeling CS Blues will be released soon.

  • Looks like they also plundered Robert Frank's film archives - Thanks alot, Glimmer Twins! When do we get to see "C*cksucker Blues" on Blu-Ray?

  • Wow! Sounds great, I know it was redone but Mick is still the man at 60!! I also just found "I think Im going mad", that is a great song as well!!

  • @MNIGRO116

    he's actually 67 years old.

  • Sounds great no matter what was done with the song and vocals, Mick still sounds great for a 60 year old man, still the greatest front man ever!!

  • Really great video. Hopefully at least VH-1 will run it alot.

  • Mick taylor and Mick Jagger overdubs

  • This is a two chord song A to Bminor . Great lyrics though . The opening sounds more like the Faces than the Stones . Did they overdub a Ronnie guitar ?

  • Why is everyone talking about 28 years years ago??? It's 38 years. Exile was recorder in 1972!!!

  • @Unabomber2 Some of the "Exile "tracks go as far back as 69! Loving Cup was played at Hyde park for Brian's "Sendoff" There were a few like "Sweet Virginia" that were from really early on too. Zeppelin did the same thing with Physical Graffitti and Housses of the Holy. Who cares when the song was written. A great song is a great song and this is a GREAT song!

  • Wow, I didn't think much of this song a few days ago, but now I really feel the groove and heat (just like an Exile song should).

  • Hope they will have tour soon!

  • Maybe they left this awesome song off because it sounds like "Most likely you go your way and I'll go mine" by Bob Dylan off of 1966's Blonde on Blonde.

  • cant believe this didn't make the cut. great groove and superb lyrics. When they were good they were the best!

  • Best thing they've released in 28 years. 28 years since this was recorded. They should have chucked the towel in on their recording career in the 70's as they have been hopeless since then. x

  • @escociagirl This is the best thing they've recorded in 28 years (since 1982)? Since then, they've recorded "Undercover of the Night", "One Hit", "Slipping Away", "Love Is Strong", "You Got Me Rocking", "Saint of Me", and plenty of others that I'd say are at least on the same level as this one. I get the sense that this song is probably half-new anyway.

  • @202pdiddy Hi there, thanks for your response. I made a keystroke error of course in stating 28 when in fact I think you knew I meant 38. I'll give you one or two of those clutching at straws tracks you mentioned since 72 but sometimes even a blind squirrel finds a nut. I've been listening to the re-mastered Exile since I procured it & is a joy to behold. Wish more people my age would find this stuff..

  • @escociagirl You meant 38? WTF? If you think this song is the best thing the Stones have recorded in the past 38 years, you don't know the Stones catalog.

  • Stones 4ever!

  • This Stones video is a masterpiece? Absolutely brillant concept incorporating the original "Exile" album artwork with moving pictures. If this doesn't win video of the year at the VMA's, I'll rush the stage and rip the astronaut statue right out of Lady Gaga's hands.

  • @Tynorman10 Better get you plane ticket then.. because its not winning. Good music cant win anymore.

  • @Tynorman10 I'm holding you to that! I wonder what Mick, Keith and the boys think when they see how young they looked! Just a great video!

  • @Tynorman10 This video and this song is better than anything that will be released this year but do you really think Mtv or VH1 have played this video even once? I highly doubt it. It's a shame too because this song is amazing.

  • @Tynorman10 i agree totally

  • Fucking AMAZING!!!

  • If you can write, record / produce tracks like this out of your tree on smack and booze, sign me up!!! How was this track ever left off the album???

Mick Taylor - give him a personal trainer and a wild card back into the Stones - his playing is beautiful!!!

  • Their unreleased material and obscurities like this are better than most rock bands released shit.

  • his voice sounds like it does now... is it possible they superimposed his voice and some new riffs? and it was not 28 yrs ago... try 38 !!! amazing how time flies...

  • @GCOUNDOU It is exactly what they did. Jagger admitted that himself in a recent interview.

  • nice riffs!

  • beautiful

  • Rolling Stones in business for 47 + years....I think Mick finally got Satisfaction

  • Since they've seen fit to use clips from Cocksucker Blues, hows aboot an official release hmmm :)??? ***taps foot and looks at watch, ala Sonic The Hedgehog***

  • Love this tune!! Just bought the 45!!

  • I don't think he's saying that in every verse ! "Thought" and "Fucked" seem to be interchangeable... as is "Needed and "Anita" so mysterious...Takin' lessons from the Beatles...HA!

  • @Charles195th Takin lessons from the beatles.LOL. mick jagger has always slurred words-that is his style and has made him the greatest frontman in rock!

  • Classic Stones. It's great that all these years later, this wonderful chapter in Rock n Roll is getting the accolades it deserves. Yeah, they never sounded as soulful as they did when Mick Taylor was in the band, but it was his choice to leave. That's history. Long live all of them.

  • amazing times

  • "Stones In Exile" to air on BBC 2 on May 23rd!

  • Great stuff, only goes to show what Ive always known...

Rock'n'Roll became flesh and dwelt among us- the Rolling Stones.

  • Hearing this song is like meeting a long lost old friend.Beautiful but sad. Blown chances and wasted opportunities. The Stones know all about it,but they're still here.Make a grown man cry.

  • YES!

    Finally out!

    The new/old Stones from 1972.

There's no substitute for quality :-)

  • Incredible.

I CANNOT stop listening to this tune or watching this video.

    Soundtrack to summer '10

    Thank you Rolling Stones!!

  • yes your totally right! soundtrack to summer 10!!!!

  • awesome vid btw, one of the best stones videos i've seen

  • Pity about the vocal, should have left it original. But thats my opinion.

The Falsetto vocal up the back is unnecessay.

I hope all the "new" Tracks don't have an updated vocal.

  • @demonsbutterfly the original recordings where not complete, they didnt had a choice..... anyway, mick's voice still sounds great!!!! and I think the backing vocals are great, very stone-ish during that time, not so much now....... Anyway, i cant believe they left this song out of the original album, it is JUST GREAT!!!!!!!!!! i really cant wait to listen to the rest of the re-edited album............

  • @santy300 Each to their own mate, i think Micks voice is Rather ordinary these days-He doesn't have the Lung Capacity anymore-not his fault he is getting on.

As i said i hope the rest of the unreleased stuff is not updated.

MJ never liked the sound of "Exile" i did-and i want to hear 1971 nellcotte. Not 2010.

  • @demonsbutterfly have you seen the live performance of Gimme Shelter that Mick did last year with U2 and Fergie at the Rocknroll hall of fame? HIs voice sounds great in that one and its on youtube.

  • @goonchistaw whatever

  • I don't give a shit if the backing track is almost 40 years old...this is the best song and video these guys have put out since " Tattoo You".

  • is this a 2010 vocal from Mick J?

  • Quintessential "Exile on Main Street" Stones. Love it.

  • This gives me chills, it is right out of their classic and best period (so far...) - those horns and Mick T's lead lines are spectacular! Release more gems soon, lads!

  • In the film "Performance" Mick fucked nice keith's girlfriend, Anita Pallenberg. Because of this "i fucked your woman for money , but you plundered my soul!"

    brother is brother !

  • @deletethepussyofhism I think the lyrics is actually "I thought you wanted my money, but you plundered my soul..."

  • @deletethepussyofhism while mick definitely took anita and there was no small amount of bitterness, the lyric is "i thought you wanted my money/but you plundered my soul" get it?

  • @deletethepussyofhism He's saying "I thought you wanted my money BUT you plundered my soul."

  • Nellcote son of STONES !

  • "i fucked your woman for money , but you plundered my soul!"

    great track

    straight from exile

    nice to hear mick T.

  • such a great song, such a great video! wow wow

  • Video really captures the spirit of Exile; probably go great with Hip Shake, Tumblin' Dice, Torn & Frayed or Let It Loose.

  • Nice footage on this official video. So here it is: Over the past couple of days, I listened to this song maybe three or four times. I liked it straight away, yet I silently questioned whether or not it has the same magical power of the original "Exile". I woke up this morning with "Plundered" stuck in my brain, and my question was answered.

  • This song was released to coincide with the so-called Record Shop Day ( Record Store Day, in English) which aims to highlight the importance of small music stores that survive to big business and piracy. "Plundered My Soul" which has only a thousand copies, was recorded 28 years ago during the preparation of the double album "Exile On Main Street", but was scorned. Listen to Mick taylor on guitar.

  • Mick Taylor has been so missed in The Stones. One can only imagine how much great music we misssed when he quit. Ronnie's a nice guy and all but he just doen't cut it as a lead guitarist. I'd love to see Mick Taylor back in the group.....That's what they've been missing for a very long time now.

  • @tonyspanish More like 10,000 copies if you check eBay. Great stuff though and best wishes to all Stones fans

  • Amazing...5 STARS !!

  • meh. i love the stones, always have, favorite band, etc etc. but even i have to say this kinda sucks in my opinion. it sounds like they're all playing a different song to me

  • makes whining and sadness turn into positive... fantastic ~exile on the streets

  • yeah.. Ace is a hard act to follow... shall I say... impossible as... pretending that a flower will never blossom in the sunshine, and never close up when it rains

thank yew keef186.. for this ***** petal

  • Ever notice how all the best music comes from the "pre-digital" age?

    Thanks for posting this.

  • Exile times were the best. This is awsome song with great cooooool vocal ( even if it's new). Nobody's even close to them. God it's almost 20 years of my lfe with Stones and god damn this is soundtrack to my life (as pekoe67 wrote). They don't make music like this anymore. I Love this video i love lyrics i love stones. It's all about rock n roll is about.
