Yes, some old Italian violins sound very good (especially with moderate bow pressure), but they are not as dominant or flexible as the Strad / Guarneri / Vuillaume variations. Nice playing!
They are belonged to Mr.Peter Prier. He let Brian to play them in their shop kindly. Wish Brian can have them in one day. Mr.Prier has three Vuillaume. Brian played all. Their sound so good and detail. I love them so much. - Brian's mom
@zippystn I'm a cellist, and I played a Vuillaume cello; they're also very beautiful! I hope your son can one day have a vuillaume violin; he's VERY talented!
Thank you for these very interesting comparisons. The sound quality might be poor but you can still hear differences between the instruments. I tried many instruments as well some were to good to be played properly by me but I can feel the sound under my fingers when I hear you playing the Tononi for example on g-string compared to g-string on the Stainer. Very interesting indeed.
Soooo cool! I wish I could test violins someday...

It's sound so nice. But I like Vuillaume more. It is bright and detail.
