@tkoutdoors1 Thanks for the comment. I think he could see us and wasn't quite sure what we were. We didn't move a muscle. If you listen close the wind picked up and the corn leaves started rustling, maybe even a stalk fell, not quite sure but he definitely didn't feel comfortable with the situation!! We could have taken him at a couple different moments but he just didn't meet our criteria!! Good luck in the outdoors!!

@bullrowels Thanks for the comment!! We are using a Sony SR200 for this video. For the money it has been a great camera however we are looking to upgrade this fall. Hoping to go HD!!

his sniffer was working double time. I love to watch these things to. Sometimes it's just as much fun to watch them do what they do as it is putting one on the ground.

Ya it was awesome having him come in so close. His sniffer was working so hard cause the wind direction was coming from us directly to him....We had tinks and scent wicks every 3-5' in front of us for cover scent and it seemed to have worked!!

Nice footage of a REAL buck, not those farm buck in a closed fence that are 315360 years old with 150+ scores... where i hunt, that is a buck to shoot (possibly unfortunate) but thats the way it is.

Thanks for the comment!! This is a buck that many people would be proud to harvest. We have raised our standards on what kind of deer to shoot. It makes you feel good about letting deer like this walk to hopefully see him again next year. You can learn a lot from the animals by watching them grow from year to year.

Thanks Chris....We are using a simple Sony SR-200, if the lighting it good it turns out some great footage, but in low light, even though it is 1 lux, it gets rough.

That was pro camera work. I have never seen anyone else get that close to a deer and get that close of a shot!

Thanks charlie!! I should have shown a view back toward the corn to show what the deer was seeing....Our camo apparently worked but it wasn't even close to matching the color or pattern of a corn field.

ha that was some great footage man. i got a 12 pointer this year split g2s about 18 in wide. But great footage of that little buck its always fun to watch em come in like that even if they aint shooters

Thanks for the great comment....It was great to be there. I've been hoping to get a harvest on camera but so far no luck. It isn't always about the kill its getting out and enjoying the great outdoors.

We have been working on letting the 1.5 yr old bucks walk. It takes some discipline but it is paying off. This is the third year we have been letting 1.5's walk and we have seen a bunch of big bucks this year!! :)

Close!! We figured him to be about 15 yrds. It is pretty sweet to have deer that close when you are on the ground with them.
