@rlee1976 - the music of the variation is by Riccardo Drigo, & was originally written for Marius Petipa's 1892 revival of "La Sylphide". I suspect that Drigo re-used melodies from his own forgotten operas, as many of them are "singable", like the melody of an aria. :)
don't get me wrong it hink lopatikina dances very well, but i was left feeling ver unimpressed at her interpretation of this variation. She also looked rather skeletal in this clip and slmost as if her tutu was too big for her.
So so feminine and lovely. Best interpretation I've seen on YouTube.

She really puts her heart and soul into this. She has such control! It's as if she dances with her heart and it takes no effort at all.
