last year in 7th grade my teacher was talkin bout the civil war and he said "a lot of southerners will tell you [OVERLY EXAGGERATED SOUTHERN VOICE], "It was state rights", but it was really slavery". this man has a picture of obama on his wall. ENOUGH SAID!
As somebody whose Southern roots go back to the beginning and who has more Confederate privates for ancestors than anybody in the SCV, I find these attempts to rewrite history really sad. The real Southern "legacy" is a thin veneer of chivalry covering generations of poverty, illiteracy, malnutrition, disease and violence. There's a lot more to this song that's pretty nasty that Waylon had the good manners to omit, if anybody cares to Google "Unreconstructed Rebel".
If another civil war happened it would be ugly. Not many in the North can shoot a gun and the ones that can would join the south. We all know how Southern boys grew up with guns and the Grace of God. God Bless
To all them Yankees out there commenting the north only won because they had more men and more weapons but the south had better fighting men that's why we killed more yanks than they did rednecks
Nice video...very stirring. As a member of the SCV, I am very happy to see others that refuse to give in to the current postmodern destruction of true history for the sake of "political correctness." We must uphold the tradition, the pride, and the honour of the South against the onslaught of those that General Lee referred to as "those people." DEO VINDICE!
"Six hundred thousand Americans died in a senseless civil war. No, he [Abraham Lincoln] shouldn't have gone, gone to war. He did this just to enhance and get rid of the original intent of the republic. I mean, it was the — that iron, iron fist. " - Ron Paul
And I believe they also seceded cause the yankees weren't playing fair your a good man I can care less if your a Southern man or a Yankee your a good man
We had a few men who went to fight for the Confederacy from what was then the Territiory of Nebraska. Actually i think the commander of the 1st Nebraska Militia, and a few of his men defected to the Confederacy.
I cant tell the difference between Wayne Jennings and Johnny Rebel. All I know that when you see the Confederate Flag, theirs not a "brotha" in sight. I dont hate whites at all, actually my grandfather is Irish, I like to comment on youtube to amuse myself
@TheFordboys Hey fordboys, I'm from ga. and i know how deep and dark the woods are.I guess this HUMANSAREBENEATHME is all talk and no ass. My great grandaddy was the only one of five brothers who made it back from the war of northern aggression. So , if that sob wants to back up his talk I will be glad to give you my address and dirt road we could meet. I know , just a dream.
@50TNCSA You AMERICA HATING HICKBILLY BITCH...you should be picked up for sedition & treason, after your trial,we can use your greasy hillbilly remains to fill potholes....
DIXIE FLAG=GOOD TOILET PAPER & SARAH PALIN LUVS GLEN RICE'S BIG BLACK COCK
@HUMANSAREBENEATHME i will GIVE MY LIFE FREELY FOR THE US im just stating a fact the US supported slavery from 1776 to 1863 if dont like history go to iran i heard they like rewriting history
@HUMANSAREBENEATHME i would use the yankee flag used in the civil war to whipe my ass BUT...ya cant use a piece of shit to clean another piece of shit.
i really wished that people were more educated to know that the biggest reason was taxation and supplies is why the south formed thier own gov....i suppose slavery would be a distant 3rd, but there is more to the reason why than what we are taught.
Let me start by saying this, I'm Areican by birth, conservitive by choice, AND SOUTHERN BY THE GRACE OF GOD.CUT ME AND I'LL BLEED STARS AND BARS. Y'all call it what it was "The War for Southern Independence. @ eagle207 boy come down here and you'll be shown why the war lasted as long as it did. You'd best study all of the history before you run your mouth. Lincon made us fire the first shot.

mrtacomandude, the Yankees called it the Battle of Bull Run. The town (actually just a railroad crossing) was Manassas Junction and the Confederates called the battles; 1st and 2nd Manassas. But history is one thing, song-writing another.
The song says - "At a little Creek, called Bull Run, we took their starry rag".
"At a railroad crossing called Manassas Junction" would NOT have worked.

@PerryPaula In the end the flag of the Grand Ole Republic rose and the traitor's rag on a stick died. The whole damn war was an exercise in futility orchestrated by a minority who thought they could rule their little southern fiefdoms like feudal lords forever and the cowards took their stupidity out on the least responsible for their failure, the former slaves.
@881Warrior My class ring bears a eagle on each side of the stone. I'm a loyal citizen of the USA, are you?
Why don't you try reading what your own damn Confederate ancestors wrote about, and why they said they left the union. You revisionists are damning yourselves with your own lies.
@cade1078 your wrong its the other way around the south named most battles by the nearest town or junction and the yanks named it after the river. I know what im talking about im a southern History minor and my family fought for the confederacy.
@cade1078 No, The battle was named after Bull Run for the river close by. It was given this name BY the Union Army. The south named it after a town nearby known as Manassas. That is why you come down south and will never hear Bull and Run in the same sentence. I find it funny though that they were the ones running once the confederates started pushing them back. I guess that is what happens when you get fresh recruits and put them in a battle.
very clever . Damned str8 . I am on a mission 2 bring our southern youth back 2 their roots cuz i c so many going astray. This whole hip epidemic . So i mix my banjo with a rym an a real talk message . C what u think. The voice of the working man
@Buckthe3rd the first step to do that is to talk like a proper gentleman, as if you actually live in the south. You actually sound like a democrat. Also, don't say real talk.
Gotta' love the childish and foolish behavior of RPHB and his troll army of one. Flagging someone's comment, as if nobody can click on show. What's he trying to hide? Oh.wait, I know.... that would be facts. Stonewall's all over him like a cheap suit and it fits RPHB perfectly
@FastPonyGT I'm not gonna act like RPHB didn't get me a bit, too. I can admit my mistakes, and I don't need the ilk of people like Robert Grooms to justify my Southern pride -- neither does anyone else. He can troll our videos til Kingdom come, but he doesn't realize that these songs were written under much greater persecution than his whiny, message board accusations. Southern culture has withstood bigger and badder demons, let him post til he gets arthritis.
@StonewallJackson86 Lol, and like your posts, you couldn't be more truthful. Keep fighting the good fight and continue preaching the truth. I truly enjoy reading your posts. You sir, are a Southern Gentleman in every sense of the word and the great Lt. Gen.Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson couldn't be more proud!
My dear pastor, in my tent last night, after a fatiguing day's service, I remembered that I failed to send a contribution for our colored Sunday school. Enclosed you will find a check for that object, which please acknowledge at your earliest convenience and oblige yours faithfully. * Stonewall Jacksonin in a Letter to his pastor after the First Battle of Bull Run (22 July 1861); as quoted in The Religious Development of the Negro in Virginia (1914) by Joseph Brummell Earnest, p. 84
Still, a Union that can only be maintained by swords and bayonets, and in which strife and civil war are to take the place of brotherly love and kindness, has no charm for me. I shall mourn for my country and for the welfare and progress of mankind. If the Union is dissolved and the Government disrupted, I shall return to my native State and share the miseries of my people, and, save in defense will draw my sword on none. * Letter to his son, G. W. Custis Lee (23 January 1861)
The blacks are immeasurably better off here than in Africa, morally, socially & physically. The painful discipline they are undergoing, is necessary for their instruction as a race, & I hope will prepare & lead them to better things. How long their subjugation may be necessary is known & ordered by a wise Merciful Providence. * Letter to his wife, Mary Anne Lee (27 December 1856)
In this enlightened age, there are few I believe, but what will acknowledge, that slavery as an institution, is a moral & political evil in any Country. It is useless to expatiate on its disadvantages. I think it however a greater evil to the white man than to the black race, & while my feelings are strongly enlisted in behalf of the latter, my sympathies are more strong for the former.
RonPaulHatesBlacks, the AntiSouthernMovement, along with whatever other aliases this whack job has conjured up to promote his own hate filled projectionist rants, first need to put their money where their mouth is and support their own arguments, rather than failing to disprove the only fact he managed to drone on about for several days.
Another uneducated hatemonger who got caught FLAT OUT LYING and running his mouth without doing any research at all. Everyone should recognize that StonewallJackson86 has ZERO credibility. He will cite Holocaust deniers and even lie about American history rather than argue the REAL reason he wishes millions of innocent black people had suffered more decades of slavery and segregation.
@RonPaulHatesBlacks Where's your credibility? You're an arrogant flaming troll, and you're a coward, on top of it. That's why you have to make up aliases to vote up your own comments, and you justify it your asinine sense of justice. You said I lied, but you obviously haven't discredited me -- where's YOUR source material? You didn't prove anything but shoot down the Barnes Review, which you failed to even reference a countermanding paper -- though I'll admit there are plenty.
@RonPaulHatesBlacks But if you're so well educated, why don't you provide any contrary evidence? I don't think you have any. You want to see racism all over the South, I can even accurately quote you as saying 'I didn't make any whole thing about slavery.' -- TO SEVERAL DIFFERENT PEOPLE. So you've done this before, shooting down numbers without any of your OWN proof, and then whining to anyone who will listen to you about lies and your own absurd insinuations.
@RonPaulHatesBlacks Once again, you may try your best to discredit me, but you can't do it without backing up your own numbers or claims. Have you even made a fact based statement? What did I lie about, then? -- That the largest slave owner in LA was black, which is something YOU said, not me? HAHAHA. Look at you slipping up.
@RonPaulHatesBlacks I mean, you act like you're flaunting out names and dates that prove me wrong. Saying that I'm "flat out lying" is an outright lie -- but your slander about my tactics of debate really doesn't bother me as MY slander about YOUR tactics of debate SHOULD bother you. You can't tell me you're not actively trying to manipulate the boards with your aliases and bullshit spam flagging. What a pussy move, you fucking coward.
Come on back when you can find ANYONE who will document your insane claims. You've flunked out with all mainstream and academic sources, and even with Holocaust deniers like The Barnes Review. What's left? Maybe a random 7th grader?

@RonPaulHatesBlacks I'm caught in the same predicament as the person before me, unwilling to supply sources, that's true, but by someone who doesn't have any himself. I made the claim, it's up to you to disprove it if you want to shut me up.
@RonPaulHatesBlacks You have been whining about the same request for information that you seem unwilling to look up yourself for days. You don't have any countermanding sources, and I told you that the wealthiest 1% of Southerners owned more than 100 slaves -- and Antone Dubuclet was one of them, who also become the first African treasurer of LA. My reference for this information comes from Federal and State census records.
@RonPaulHatesBlacks And hey, I'll admit that finding source information regarding this material is difficult. I'll assert that's because of revisionist attempts to rewrite history, but it's hilarious how you stretch any argument you can to try and assert some high handed attempt of disseminating white guilt. Cry about it, son, to all the heavens; I respect your enthusiasm, I really do. It's like how you say 'You've had days to respond to this' and fail to reply directly to me, then vote me down
That's a great argument---everyone should completely ignore everything the South said at the time, and accept whatever you say now because you say so. States rights was really the cause, not slavery, and everyone should just ignore the fact that the declarations of secession cite "slave" and "slavery" 82 times but "states rights" not even once.
The South called slavery the "immediate cause of the .... present revolution." You have a lovely theory that's simply contradicted by the facts. Sorry.
@RonPaulHatesBlacks I mean, you love quoting facts; Lincoln's call to Arms was April 14th, 1861 -- VA, NC, Ar, and TN had to REVERSE secession votes after Abe went declaring war. Sherman targeted civilians and burned bridges behind him so fleeing slaves couldn't even follow, AFTER the Emancipation Proclamation. You'll never convince me that Dixie is something to be ashamed of, so suck on that, boy.
Also one particuliar person lives on Confederate vids and garners attention by speaking incesssantly and only to slavery issues and not about the war. That is of course until the slavery issue involves black enslaving blacks. That's taboo and not allowed on slave videos......Oh, I meant the oxymoronic "Civil War" videos.
So...you are proud of your southern heritage? Then you want to claim that the south wasn't racist and that the government is lying about the Civil War?
Ok then, I guess under this logic I can say that since my ancestors were from Eastern Germany, I can go around waving my Nazi flag and when I go to fucking jail for racism I can testify that I was being proud of my Eastern German Heritage, claim the Gov. is lying about WW2, and say that we were fighting for freedom from the Jews to be Aryan! XD
@AntiSouthernMovement What are you talking about? Who is saying the war was to be Southern? Why is World War II being brought up? You don't go to jail for racism, silly goose. Good lord man, there is a difference between being proud to be Southern and saying the Civil War had more than one cause (slavery was wrong, and was one of them! There is no saving grace!), but you seem intent at riling up Southerners for no reason, like Mr.RonPaulHatesBlacks. Come on guys, go watch a less touchy video.
@honestgeorgian Ron Paul has multiple accounts! He is probably got about 16 other accounts cause he is to obsessed with southern videos and he can`t get anyone to back him up so he creates more accounts. This i Know. It`s pretty obvious he has many if you look on other southern videos.
@AntiSouthernMovement Talking to yourself again? lmao you not fooling me i know you are RonPaulHatesBlacks. Please for your own good SEEK HELP! This is not normal.
I like Waylon Jennings, and I like the South. Slavery is wrong, Georgia and Alabama are especially great and the Civil War was a horrible war. But I do have one question. Why do people opposed to Southern pride songs come and watch the videos and comment? To start fights? To get them off of YouTube? I just don't understand it.
The declarations don't "mention" slavery. They unequivocally identify slavery and white supremacism as they reason the South seceded and started the war. It's easy to know why racist hatemongers defend and celebrate the confederacy today---because the South said "the servitude of the African to the white race" was God's will and "should exist in all future time" while the North believed in the "debasing doctrine" of equality of all men.

@RonPaulHatesBlacks If you whole-heartedly believe that all men are created equal , I suggest you get your pant load of lard over to West Africa and preach that crap to your ancestor's slavers, who BTW aren't treating your ancestors as equals. That previous post was an except from a blogger at Blackinformant (.com) under the article "More buried history: Black slave owners in the US" -- it's a very interesting read. I don't agree with everything there, but it seems to grasp points RPHB doesn't want to.

Free black slave owners shared a similar view of slavery with their white counterparts. Slave owners of both races occasionally manumitted a trusted servant and in the same moment requested the sale of another slave. The act of freeing one or several slaves while others remained in bondage did not constitute a firm commitment against slavery, but a personal view which acknowledged that some slaves, through merit or hard work, deserved their freedom, while others were destined to die as slaves.
Well, we sunk the ship at Sumter, and we broke her plum in two. We showed them bully yankees just what we aim to do. At a little creek called Bull Run, we took their starry rag, to wipe our horses down with, but I ain't here to brag.
Well there aren't as many left of us as rode out at the start. And then there are the weary, weak in body, sad of heart. We fought a fight to tell about, and I am here to say. I'd climb that horse and follow Marse to hell, come any day.
I'd like to congratulate RPHB on his history degree recieved from Google Inc. He researches the site for all things Anti-Southern and studies articles prior to each post. Does this dumbass really think anyone believes his mound of poo? Shhhh........ don't tell him no because I wouldn't want to end his little fantasy. He lives for it.

If you really look, the people that did own slaves treated them as if they were family.
They raised theire kids for them and they trusted them with their own kids.Slaves werent treated that badly.Dont claim you know about the holocaust ecause you watched band of brothers.
That's horseshit. Slaves were treated as SLAVES. Some were beaten, starved, whipped, and raped more than others, but all were treated as SLAVES. They were denied all basic human freedoms. Their children and family members could be (and were) seized and sold, beaten, and killed with no legal recourse.
@RonPaulHatesBlacks Oh yes, the poor, mistreated African slave population, that would have frolicked in big green meadows and lived perfectly happy, peaceful lives had they simply been left alone. Those big bad Rebels sailed all the way to Africa to round up the villagers and bring them back to plow fields. No, they weren't enslaved by their own tribes, or rival villages; raped and pillaged, seized and sold, beaten and killed with no legal recourse by any other hostile parties, right?
The South was right. They fought for their lands, families, and independence, the same reason why the Colonists fought in 1776. The imperialistic, nationalistic Yankees fought for the same reasons the British fought in 1776.
Nope. The South fought for its "cornerstone" of slavery and white supremacism. The South proudly said so at the time, in their Cornerstone Speech and Mississippi, Texas, Georgia, and South Carolina declarations of secession. You shouldn't lecture the world about American history and the Civil War when you've never even read the declarations of secession.
Show me a pro-confederacy video, and I'll show you sick, uneducated, racist hatemongers who say "there is nothing wrong with being racist"!!! Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!
@RonPaulHatesBlacks First of all you have no clue what you are talking about, like all libtards you base your staments on emotion not fact. Second why have you chosen to attack this video and make the South all about slavery? Do you have any idea home many black slave owners there were, are they racist as well? This war was about the tarriffs the South paid to the North and the Yankkes being unable to live with out that income. The South paid over 75% of the taxes at that time.
Good job attacking a month-old post that responded to a proud white supremacist.
All I do is pound the facts, dipshit.
I've never made the South all about slavery.
By 1861, a few multi-racial residents of Louisiana were forced to "own" family members with darker skin.
The war was not over "tarriffs." You've obviously never even read the Mississippi, Texas, Georgia, and SC declarations of secession. If you had, you'd know they cite "slave" and "slavery" 82 times but "tarriffs" NOT EVEN ONCE.
@RonPaulHatesBlacks You have tried to make this whole thing about slavery, and when confronted with facts you are back to name calling and out right lies. Nobody was forced to own slaves, the largest slave holder in LA was black, in fact blacks owned slaves in a higher proportion than Whites, I am not a dip shit and there is no expiration date on your lies, lack of facts. Why do you people always have to play the race card? I would say lack of facts and an inability yo think to yourself.
I didn't make any "whole thing" about slavery. You did, in your Cornerstone Speech and Mississippi, Texas, Georgia, and South Carolina declarations of secession that you've still NEVER EVEN READ.
The largest slave owner in Louisiana in 1860 was black? Really? What was his or her name? How many slaves did they own? And so what? Are you really going to argue that slavery and slave owners weren't racist? How many white slaves did the South have in 1860?
@RonPaulHatesBlacks Oh you silly little boy, you have no idea what I have rea d or writtten fror that matter. If you really want to know his name do a simple search of black slave owners, I know whatever I tell you will deny. It is what you people do, you deny the facts and attempt to discredit the bearer of these facts, and you must always play the race card, it is all you have. Blacks owned slaves in a higher proportion than whites it is a fact.BTW it was the blacks who did the sellin
The largest slave owner in Louisiana in 1860 was black? What was his or her name? How many slaves did he or she own? Where did they live?
These are simple questions, boy. Why can't you answer them?
You played the race card, in your Cornerstone Speech and Texas, Mississippi, Georgia, and South Carolina declarations of secession you still have NEVER EVEN READ.

@RonPaulHatesBlacks I won't contest that several state declarations mention slavery specifically, though I still pose the question: Why would the Confederacy pursue independence, if the maintenance of slavery was already preserved through the Corwin Amendment? Why would Virginia, North Carolina, Arkansas and Tennessee ( Half the populace ) have to REVERSE prior votes against secession after Lincoln's call to arms, if slavery was the main point of the war?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@RonPaulHatesBlacks I won't contest that you raise many fair, fact based points. But you evade and mark down comments that you disagree with, and those slimy, underhanded tactics debase the chance at a fair and intellectual argument. Not to mention, you told me I was racist for knowing my history and taking a different point of view from yours -- I have alot of contention with that. Part of your problem is your flamboyant willingness to play the race card, especially when you only do it to win.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@RonPaulHatesBlacks And yes, I will argue that slavery 150 years ago wasn't racist, at least not in the context you're trying to force it. Every slave that arrived in America did so in a ship flying under the US flag, why doesn't that concern you? Do you think blacks in America are better or worse off for being here? Africa today is still one of the epicenters of human trafficking. Are they all racist too? The War between the States was first and foremost a war against secession. Period.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@RonPaulHatesBlacks But in response to your questions about free black slave owners in 1860; the widow C. Richards, and her son P.C. Richards, owned 152 slaves who worked her large sugar cane plantation, while Antoine Dubuclet (another free black) owned over 100 slaves to work his sugar planting operation. I don't know if that makes them the largest slave owners in the state of Louisiana, but it certainly puts them in the top 1%.
No, no, no---you said "the largest slave holder in LA was black." So what was their name? How many slaves did they own? Where did they live? These are simple questions, boy. Why do you keep ducking them?
How do you know that owning 100 or 152 slaves in 1860 would "certainly put them in the top 1%"? Where's your source for that?
Remember, this is the centerpiece of your claim that enslaving millions of innocent black people was not racist at all, and should be allowed until the end of time.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@RonPaulHatesBlacks Specifically, an essay by Robert Grooms titled Dixie's Censored Subject: Black Slave Owners -- most of his data is largely sourced from Federal Census records, particularly regarding the top 1% statistic. Name: Antoine Dubuclet, # of slaves: Over 100, Location: Iberville Parish, LA. He was also the first African to hold the office of Louisiana Treasurer, and one of the wealthiest people in the South. But if you doubt my facts, source me countermanding material, please.
Grooms does not claim that Antoine Dubuclet was "the largest slave holder in LA" in 1860. No one does. You said "the largest slave owner in LA was black." What was their name? How many slaves did they own? Where did they live? You've had days to answer these simple questions, hatemonger.
Grooms does not claim that owning 100 or 152 slaves in 1860 would "certainly put them in the top 1%." Where's your source for that?
You should drop the history and argue the real reason you support slavery.
And it's awesome that you can't find ANY contemporaneous or academic source to support your ridiculous claims, and have had to resort to Grooms and The Barnes Report, which has published 22 separate books denying the Holocaust, and proudly claims that it caused the Iranian government to deny the Holocaust. Talk about giving away the game!!! How sick and evil can one person be?
@RonPaulHatesBlacks I don't have all the sources of academia at my disposal, though I will say you masterfully attacked Grooms' -- is his census data inaccurate? Tell me, then, how many people owned 100 or more slaves? I still resent your nasty racist insinuations and insults -- to me, it weakens your argument. Why do you need to descend to pathetic name calling to get your point across? Countermand me with your own facts and sources.
@RonPaulHatesBlacks And again, you're hung up on a comment that I never made. Even when I volunteered Dubulcet and the Widow Richards, sourced from the Barnes Review, I said I didn't know if that made them the largest slave holder in LA. Who was, then? What percentage of people owned 100 or more slaves? You can attack the researcher all you want for his extemporaneous causes, but can you disprove his data? His opinions may be invalid, but give me your sources for these numbers, then.
Still waiting. You claim that "the larges slave owner in LA was black." What was their name? How many slaves did they own? Where did they live? Surely you know all the answers to these questions---you wouldn't have made such a claim otherwise. Right? I mean, you're not a FLAT OUT LIAR, are you?
You claim owning 100 or 152 slaves in 1860 would "certainly put them in the top 1%." Can't you find any of your Holocaust denier buddies to source that?
@RonPaulHatesBlacks No, I volunteered information about black slave owners in LA. You don't seem to be quoting any countermanding source material yourself there, guy. My source for the top 1% owned 100 or more slaves is from the 1860 Federal Census.
@RonPaulHatesBlacks But I love how you ran right past Dubuclet. Was he a racist, for running a large sugar plantation with more than 100 slaves? Does that make him a Hitler-esque person for being the first African treasurer of LA?
@RonPaulHatesBlacks Remember, this started out with you dictating my argument as 'the reason why slavery should go on forever,' and why 'slavery wasn't racist.' Are you saying that there were no black slave owners who amassed great wealth in the South? Or can you not make your point without positioning YOUR ridiculous claims and then hysterically repeating them?
@RonPaulHatesBlacks But more over, you're stuck like a broken record on trying to paint me as a racist. I still say, why did Virginia, Arkansas, North Carolina and Tennessee have to reverse votes against secession AFTER Lincoln's call to arms? Slavery wasn't a good enough reason for HALF the people involved prior to April 14, 1861. What's your answer to that?
@RonPaulHatesBlacks But again, I don't insinuate that slavery should be an existential institution -- and I'm certainly grateful technology made it more profitable to employ machinery rather than feed, cloth and monitor a forced labor population. And, be honest: are American blacks better off than Africans, yes or no?
Slavery in and of itself is not barbaric. Most slave owners treated their slaves any worse than people today would if slavery was legal. The very fact that there was only one slave uprising throughout 245 years of American slavery is proof pozitive that the vast majority of slaves had no reason to revolt. They were well-fed, well-housed (as well as poor whites at that time), and well-clothed, not to mentioned well cared-for when they got old.
All I am saying is that America would be a much nicer place if the nothern government did nt attack its own country. Not all people in the north wanted they north to win.
America would be a much better place if the South fought off the north and took the country. A lot of Americans can honestly say states like New Jersey would be a better place. I am from New Jersey and it is like a 3rd world country.
Fuck yeah!!! Then the South would still be an apartheid nation with no civil rights, voting rights, anti-lynching laws, or interracial marriage!!! Yeah!!! Separate drinking fountains and blacks in the back of the bus!!!
How many black people would you own as slaves right now? Just a few, or a plantation full?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@RonPaulHatesBlacks You realize of course that the segregation didn't come about till after the never sufficiently damned reconstruction government was tossed out of the South. Oh yea and since you like questions so much here is one for you or whichever of your accounts you would like to use to answer it. What the hell happened to you when you were a child to make you so twisted. You come here and do your damn best to insult Southerners. Does it give you such great please to be such a troll?
The antebellum South was not an integrated society, you fucking retard. You kept black people separate from whites, and in chains. Then, when We the People released those chains, you immediately adopted Black Codes to formalize and ensure segregation. You imposed another century of apartheid, until Northern guns ended that, too. If the South had won, blacks would have suffered MORE years of slavery and segregation. That's why you support the CSA, remember?
No matter what you do, there will always be someone loyal to the south. You can't change that.
Plus most southerners didn't have slaves, only the rich ones did. So then what were they fighting for huh?
And the North ALSO had slaves....
Did you ever care to read how the North treated us? Or are you so fixed on trying to tell the world we're evil.... Robert E. Lee HATED slavery, and he was a Confederate gerneral.
Actually, one-third of white Southern families owned slaves in 1860, rising to one-half in some states. And plenty more Southerners owned slaves in the past, rented slaves in 1860, and/or aspired that they or their children would own them in the future. And you don't have to own slaves to support slavery---just look at you!!!
Robert E. Lee did not HATE slavery. That's absurd. He wrote his wife that blacks were better off as slaves, and that slavery should NEVER end unless ordered by God.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@RonPaulHatesBlacks of Southern citizens owned slaves. 1/3rd as you like to claim is complete folly, even anti CSA propaganda doesn't even claim that. But I tell you what, you are right about one thing, you don't have to own slaves to support slavery. That is perhaps the only truthful thing you have written yet. Now I don't know about the "unless ordered by God." part, but then again I don't claim to know everything there is to know about the War of Northern Aggression, or the South.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@RonPaulHatesBlacks However I guarantee you that if Robert E. Lee wrote that blacks were better off as slaves then he was probably referring to the very, very tiny free black population in the North, who were according to accounts of the time even worse off than slaves. If you don't believe me, ask yourself, why did the famous underground railroad end in Canada, not the North? Now if your quite done attempting to insulting me, I think its time for you to man up take your ego and leave.
@RonPaulHatesBlacks You know now that I think about it, your doing exactly what the Federal Government has done for the last 150 years. Any information about the South or the CSA is hidden, blocked, and suppressed. Ironic really that your following in their footsteps against any information that damages your argument.
" In this enlightened age, there are few I believe, but what will acknowledge, that slavery as an institution, is a moral &political evil in any Country. It is useless to expatiate on its disadvantages. The blacks are immeasurably better off here than in Africa, morally, socially & physically. The painful discipline they are undergoing I hope will prepare & lead them to better things. How long their subjugation may be necessary is known &ordered by wise Merciful Providence"
Yeah. That's exactly what I said---Lee wrote his wife that blacks were "better off" as slaves, and that slavery should NEVER end unless ordered by God.
Why couldn't you yankee bastards let us go in peace? We could've avoided the whole damn thing! God bless the CSA!

A. Lincoln, the first American dictator, broke the Constitution by pursuing his illegal war of aggression against the South.
By subjugating the people of the Confederacy to accept foreign rule, he made slaves of them all, white and black, because might makes right.
In 1865, it was people of the South who were enslaved, today it is the American taxpayer who is enslaved.
Truth never dies, but it does get buried, and one must dig, dig, dig for it. Truth is rarely popular, and it ain't on TV.

mrtacomandude, the Yankees called it the Battle of Bull Run. The town (actually just a railroad crossing) was Manassas Junction and the Confederates called the battles; 1st and 2nd Manassas. But history is one thing, song-writing another.
The song says - "At a little Creek, called Bull Run, we took their starry rag".
"At a railroad crossing called Manassas Junction" would NOT have worked.

obeyyourchad 6 months ago
@cade1078 No, The battle was named after Bull Run for the river close by. It was given this name BY the Union Army. The south named it after a town nearby known as Manassas. That is why you come down south and will never hear Bull and Run in the same sentence. I find it funny though that they were the ones running once the confederates started pushing them back. I guess that is what happens when you get fresh recruits and put them in a battle.

Sorry.
RonPaulHatesBlacks 8 months ago
@RonPaulHatesBlacks I mean, you love quoting facts; Lincoln's call to Arms was April 14th, 1861 -- VA, NC, Ar, and TN had to REVERSE secession votes after Abe went declaring war. Sherman targeted civilians and burned bridges behind him so fleeing slaves couldn't even follow, AFTER the Emancipation Proclamation. You'll never convince me that Dixie is something to be ashamed of, so suck on that, boy.

I believe all men are created equal. You don't.

Does this dumbass really think anyone believes his mound of poo? Shhhh........ don't tell him no because I wouldn't want to end his little fantasy. He lives for it.

"Still, a Union that can only be maintained by swords and bayonets, and in which strife and civil war are to take the place of brotherly love and kindness, has no charm for me. I shall mourn for my country and for the welfare and progress of mankind. If the Union is dissolved, and the government disrupted, I shall return to my native state and share the miseries of my people; and, save in defense, will draw my sword on none." -- Robert E. Lee, in a letter to his son, 1/23/1861.

You should be ashamed of yourself.

RonPaulHatesBlacks 8 months ago

It's never too late for high school.

Blacks owned slaves in a higher proportion than whites it is a fact.BTW it was the blacks who did the sellin

@RonPaulHatesBlacks I won't contest that you raise many fair, fact based points. But you evade and mark down comments that you disagree with, and those slimy, underhanded tactics debase the chance at a fair and intellectual argument. Not to mention, you told me I was racist for knowing my history and taking a different point of view from yours -- I have alot of contention with that. Part of your problem is your flamboyant willingness to play the race card, especially when you only do it to win.

Period.

How do you know that owning 100 or 152 slaves in 1860 would "certainly put them in the top 1%"? Where's your source for that?
Remember, this is the centerpiece of your claim that enslaving millions of innocent black people was not racist at all, and should be allowed until the end of time.

StonewallJackson86 8 months ago
Grooms does not claim that Antoine Dubuclet was "the largest slave holder in LA" in 1860. No one does. You said "the largest slave owner in LA was black." What was their name? How many slaves did they own? Where did they live? You've had days to answer these simple questions, hatemonger.
Grooms does not claim that owning 100 or 152 slaves in 1860 would "certainly put them in the top 1%." Where's your source for that?

What percentage of people owned 100 or more slaves? You can attack the researcher all you want for his extemporaneous causes, but can you disprove his data? His opinions may be invalid, but give me your sources for these numbers, then.

@RonPaulHatesBlacks But I love how you ran right past Dubuclet. Was he a racist, for running a large sugar plantation with more than 100 slaves? Does that make him a Hitler-esque person for being the first African treasurer of LA?

@RonPaulHatesBlacks Remember, this started out with you dictating my argument as 'the reason why slavery should go on forever,' and why 'slavery wasn't racist.' Or can you not make your point without positioning YOUR ridiculous claims and then hysterically repeating them?

@RonPaulHatesBlacks But more over, you're stuck like a broken record on trying to paint me as a racist. I still say, why did Virginia, Arkansas, North Carolina and Tennessee have to reverse votes against secession AFTER Lincoln's call to arms? Slavery wasn't a good enough reason for HALF the people involved prior to April 14, 1861. What's your answer to that?
StonewallJackson86 8 months ago
@RonPaulHatesBlacks But again, I don't insinuate that slavery should be an existential institution -- and I'm certainly grateful technology made it more profitable to employ machinery rather than feed, cloth and monitor a forced labor population. And, be honest: are American blacks better off than Africans, yes or no?
StonewallJackson86 8 months ago
Slavery in and of itself is not barbaric. Most slave owners treated their slaves any worse than people today would if slavery was legal. The very fact that there was only one slave uprising throughout 245 years of American slavery is proof pozitive that the vast majority of slaves had no reason to revolt. They were well-fed, well-housed (as well as poor whites at that time), and well-clothed, not to mentioned well cared-for when they got old.

@RonPaulHatesBlacks You realize of course that the segregation didn't come about till after the never sufficiently damned reconstruction government was tossed out of the South. AngelofMaddness 9 months ago
I only have one account, retard.
RonPaulHatesBlacks 9 months ago 2
@RonPaulHatesBlacks Why do you waste your breath?
No matter what you do, there will always be someone loyal to the south. You can't change that.
Plus most southerners didn't have slaves, only the rich ones did. So then what were they fighting for huh?
And the North ALSO had slaves....
Did you ever care to read how the North treated us? Or are you so fixed on trying to tell the world we're evil.... Robert E. Lee HATED slavery, and he was a Confederate gerneral.
Vanadell191 9 months ago
Actually, one-third of white Southern families owned slaves in 1860, rising to one-half in some states. And plenty more Southerners owned slaves in the past, rented slaves in 1860, and/or aspired that they or their children would own them in the future. And you don't have to own slaves to support slavery---just look at you!!!
Robert E. Lee did not HATE slavery. That's absurd. He wrote his wife that blacks were better off as slaves, and that slavery should NEVER end unless ordered by God.

But I tell you what, you are right about one thing, you don't have to own slaves to support slavery. That is perhaps the only truthful thing you have written yet.
