  • What color is this one called?

  • @pinkiibeauiful White Diamond Metallic, I think. However, they might change the name of the colors like they do every year.

  • look like Lexus...

  • @tokyocityrat You may think it looks like a Lexus, but in fact, it's a rebadged Opel Insignia OPC for the US Market. It'll be called the Regal GS here.

  • @KingBuick or vauxhall insignia vxr in uk ;)

  • @milne98989 Yes. I do wish that Holden would make their version of the Insignia. That'd be nice indeed. :)

  • Early development concept was aimed as a family vehicle that was spacious, with luxury, extra room and comfortability with great performance and vehicle physical strength, durability, longevity, interchangebility and compatibility of parts, ease of integration and future upgradability with a wide variety of customization options in a coupe/sedan style. The symbol was a blue horse and carriage featured on some limited 83 regals, then went a archway style with red white and blue, and now the opal.

  • This car is 100% German so if you yanks secretly like European cars but gotta drive an American badge then this is your car.

  • @IchiSausage I know that this car is exactly the same as the European Opel Insignia and Insignia OPC. But it's a given for the US market. I just saw these a couple days ago at my local dealer, and they looked like a huge success.

  • @KingBuick First off I would like to say this, Buick was created May 19th 1903, the founder is David Dunbar Buick, which the Buick headquarters is based in US Detroit, Michigan, it is a division of General Motors and I grew up on these cars, Buick muscle cars have been in the US for decades and they used to be raced here with Oldmobile Cutless, Monte Carlo's, Chevy's, and many more.

Anytime someone says that it's completely German or European only it doesn't make any sense.

  • @KnightChatX Thanks for your comment. It's true that Buick is 100% American, but the Regal is essentially the Opel Insignia for the North American and Chinese Market.

  • @IchiSausage German manufaturers made BMW's, back when the advent of sport luxury compacts from German manufacturers such as BMW were drawing customers away from traditional luxury brands. Not mentioned was the Buick Grand National. It was Buick's muscle car, the fastest production car at one time. It had a 3.8 6 cylinder engine with a turbo charger, the FBI had a GN with twin turbo chargers. It was reported to go 0-60 in 4.0 seconds.

Try wikipedia search on Buick and you can learn about it.

  • @KnightChatX Thanks for your comment. I've heard of the GrandNational, and it was some car! The Regal GS will probably be like it, I hope!

I have seent the article on Wikipedia, but I do not trust Wikipedia because it's not really a source. I use Wikipedia only to go to other websites related to the article.

  • @KingBuick Yeah the Grand National is nice, if you race it with Twin Turbo you could put one of those Steve Morris racing engines. He's the leader in blow through engine technology for turbo's.

Those do use alot more fuel though but powerful for racing 2500 HP.

  • @KingBuick The Opel version of the new Buick is called the Insignia, and has been available in Europe for the past year with a range of engines from a 1.6-liter four to a 2.8-liter V6, and a wide selection of four-cylinder diesels, each of which come standard with manual transmissions. Perhaps more interesting is that the Insignia is also available in hatchback and wagon body styles. We Americans, as well as the Chinese, get the sedan only.

  • @KnightChatX Yes, Yes. I know all this information. Thanks for posting a comment about it. When I went to Poland this past summer, there were many Opel Insignias on the streets in all forms. If I lived in Europe, I'd own the Insignia for sure!

  • @KingBuick Some newer commercial's say straight out of Germany, the Regal went on sale in April, starting at $26,245. Currently only the CXL model with the 2.4-liter engine is available, but the turbocharged version will go on sale later this year. Currently all Regals are built at the Russelsheim plant in Germany next to the Opels, but by early 2011 the cars will be built in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, alongside the Chevy Camaro.

Many Opel plants have shut down.

  • @KnightChatX Thanks for the information. Are you a member of Buick Forums or some other group? If so, feel free to find me on Buick Forums as (you guessed it) KingBuick.

  • @Myka138 I'm sorry. I made a mistake. I read yesterday in a recent issue of Motor Trend that GM has announced that there will be a Regal GS. However, they haven't said when it will be made or any other details.

I don't think that the Regal has a Vanilla colour option, but I'm not that sure.

  • I want this car!!!!! Very nice job Buick.

  • @txbuzzin I want this car too! Production begins in April of next year. Buick has done an excellent job with the GS. Thanks for the comment!

  • @kingbuick ya i am definately thinking pretty seriously about it, what is the ticket price do you know? probablly around €50.000? or more?

  • @gaarasama0225 The price in US $ is between $33,000 and $35,000 I think. Price info. hasn't been released yet, but it should be out sometime soon. It's getting produced in April 2011, which is less than a year away!

  • that car is fucking sick, right now i am in a 1998 buick regal gs und i love it. i'm thinking about upgrading haha

  • @gaarasama0225 Wow. That's awesome! Maybe you should get the new Regal GS when it comes out in April 2011.

  • the DI 2.0L with one set of mods will make another 40-50hp. I'd agree I'd like a turbo v6, but I'll take a turbo 4, awd, and a 6 spd any day of the week. I'd really like to see this happen. I think it would be nice for some who want the sport of a subaru wrx/sti, without the extreme flashlyness that comes with them

  • If they want ot continue to build a strong american brand with sports and luxury, they need to build this car. not as fast as the last gs they produced, but a car they need. i have read in several books that the gs will get built maybe 2011 a new for 2012 model.

  • @redbuick I agree with you redbuick! They do need to build this car. It would show Buick's sport car heritage. btw, I guess you're like me in the way that you like Buicks as much as I do!

  • @KingBuick yup. we are a buick family. we had a 1950's road master long gone, my sister has a 96 gs coupe, i have a 98 regal gs sedan, and my mom has my old lesabre t-type coupe. very good long lasting cars, have had little trouble except for bad mechanics and dummies who believe only japan builds good cars. i have left a few maxima's in my regals dust. lol.

  • @redbuick My family and I used to have a '95 Buick Regal Custom in a Crimson Metallic colour. We traded it in early January 2007 for a 2002 Volvo S60. I am getting a car of my own in less than 2 years, and I know that it will either be the new Lacrosse or upcoming 2011 Regal!

  • @KingBuick im getting my own car too and i hope it's either the regal turbo or ( i'm dreaming here ha ha =P) the regal gs!! wish me luck!

  • @BMWDriverC101 that's nice! the regal might be my first car when i get it in 1 year and 6 months and a bit... good luck! if you want the gs model, you'll have to wait untill April 2011, when it gets produced. the turbo 4 model comes out this month (August).

  • @KingBuick i still will hopefully get the turbo... gonna go see it when it comes out... I REALLY want that gs tho

  • @BMWDriverC101 the gs is an awesome trim. the opel insignia opc (which the regal gs is based on) is a nice car. it might be my choice or the regular CXL model. then again, i might want the LaCrosse CXS or Lucerne Super. who knows?

  • @KingBuick oh ya i totally forgot about the Lucerne Super... I'd still rather get the Regal Turbo because it performs good looks GREAT

  • @BMWDriverC101 The Lucerne Super is underated, I think by alot of people. They think it's an old people's car, but I don't. I'd get it any day! The Regal Turbo I4 must perform really great, and it does look excellent! A nice job done by GM I must say.

  • I hope it doesn't stay a concept and they throw in a turbo v6. That would be awesome. If they used the 3.6l and bolted on a turbo, they would be able to push way over 300hp.

  • @Laxnut1082 I hope that they put in a turbo V8, like in last year's Lacrosse Super! A person in my neighbourhood has one, and it's very slick.

  • @KingBuick They never put a turbo in the V8.

  • @Laxnut1082 I know, but it would be nice.

  • @KingBuick Nice! Would be awesome, but I think that's too much power for buick. Would be nuts if they put that in the regal though,
