  • "So you're saying a weasel is some kind of *bonsai tiger*?"

    Love it. 2:22

  • cro kuna!

  • mad*

  • No wonder im so madd... FUFFUFUFUFUFUFUUFFF hahaha

  • Hannibal Lecter

  • this is my favorite QI episode of all time

  • We found this video very interesting and we were not sure be we may have laughed good video

  • Weasels are caniform. Stoats are a kind of weasel, as are European polecats. All animals called "polecats" are also caniform.

  • @wordreet or the robin redbreast

  • In probably order of ferocity, and clearly all descended from the same family.

Ferrets, Weasels, Polecats, Martens, Otters, Stoats, Badgers, Tigers, Wolverines, Honey Badgers and our cat Henry Higgins, from 1961.

  • God dammit it was 5 to nine when he declared it was 9pm

  • apparently Croatia's national animal is a Dalmation ...

  • @minesajd Sooo, what animal represents Dalmatia then?

  • @wordreet Dalmatia is in Croatia.

  • @minesajd Perfect. Hah, check out the arrogance of us in the UK with our representative lion! We should honour a native animal like the beautiful little Red Squirrel.

  • @JaySmith91 fuck of bro

  • @JaySmith91 1. Even if you dislike Alan and don't think he's funny, he HAS to talk a lot during these shows. He gets paid to be the permanent "stupid" panelist. 2. He's hilarious, get over it.

  • What about a mongoose? I think I remember this old cartoon Riki Tiki Tavi with a mongoose and he made a puffy fuff noise when he was standing off against the cobra, I think. That's what I first thought of, anyway.

  • @MisuzuK4M10 I thought of that, too. I think the mongoose is related to the weasel, though, so that might be why.

  • This is how I get angry with my students in class. fufufuffffufufufufufufufff

  • Bill Bailey said "but fuffers" heh heh heh

  • fuffing hilarious!

  • Well it's not really a national symbol, but it is on our flag.

    And it's not really a weasel, it's a Marten.

    But close enough.

  • @Domagoj4ipol lol no one gives a fuck tbh

  • @Domagoj4ipol

    Also, our currency...

  • Alan making that noise cracks me up!

  • could any americans here tell me is rich famous in america

  • Comment removed

  • @Daleksaresupreme1 Well, Canadian here. But no; rich just means wealthy.

  • @Daleksaresupreme1 No Rich is only famous in the UK really

  • @Vantom91 That's not true, he's been to Australia quite a lot for the Comedy Festival and been on TV shows here for at least 15-20 years

  • @Blackaddam I stand corrected, but no I have never seen or heard of him in North American media

  • @Daleksaresupreme1 @Daleksaresupreme1 He was during the 1980's. Now most people know Moe, the bartender on "The Simpsons," who is strongly based on Rich, but not Rich himself

  • I thought someone would say that Hannibal Lectar says "fuff" too.

  • Actually fuffing is also known as 'prusten' and contrary to Stephen's definition is actually an entirely non threatening noise made by a tiger, akin to purring in domestic cats.

  • What goes 'fluumph'?

  • Q: What goes "fuff"?

    A: Hannibal Lecter

  • i am croatian

a weasel is not our simbol

it is the name of croatian currency

    equally stupid

  • @naakrd There's one on the Croatian coat of arms though. But so are a goat and three lions, so yeah...

  • @Sakkura1 it is ti signify the regions

the goat is istria, the lions are dalmatia the one with the star is the oldest croatian simbol...

and so on cant remember the other two

    (what a patriot i am)

    :)))))

  • @naakrd Yeah, I know. But it's still in there, so technically he's sort of right in two ways: The money and the coat of arms. Blind luck's finest hour.

  • @naakrd marten (bill said weasel) is slavonia??

  • @zombieravens you, sir, are correct! the marten is part of the coat of arms of Slavonia. goat is Istria, leopards are Dalmatia, the red stripes are Dubrovnik (or rather, the old republic of Ragusa) and the morning star/moon one i never really got. i think that was the coat of arms of the kingdom of croatia maaany many years ago.

  • @naakrd If you take a look at Coat of arms of Croatia you have two animals, one could be goat or some similar animal and right to that is some animal that resembles a weasel. What animal is that? It surely looks like one.

  • @xyoop its not a weasel, it''s a running marten (which is very similar to a weasel)

that bit of the coat represents slavonia (a region of croatia)

the marten (croation=kuna) is what the oney is called

    I know, really stupid

but it is not the simbol

And that is a goat you saw it represents Istria (where I come from)

    :)

  • i just want to say, its nine pm

lol, rich hall you are a simple joke god, and im not being insulting here i like him just because all the simple jokes he does make me laugh

  • Thanks to this video, when I'm angry at someone, I fuff instead of swearing or physically attacking the person.

  • the national symbol of croatia is not a weasel !!! I'm from there and the national symbol is a type of marten indigenous to croatia. we call it kuna. somebody take away his points!

  • America used to have entertaining panel shows decades ago (50s, 60s), but our mainstream culture wouldn't allow for it now.

  • @collieness We have some on the radio: Wait Wait Don't Tell Me and Says You.

  • 1:52

  • I SOOOOO wish we had intelligent shows like this in America! I know it is on BBC America, but to me, it just isn't the same thing.

  • "They are stoatily different ... No, I'm sorry. That was stoatily unacceptable, I'm sorry." I love how everyone just glosses over this bit ... hilarious! xD

  • @Idraena

He says: "No, I'm sorry. It's unacceptable. It's absolutely unacceptable, I'm sorry"

  • @Akfilm92 Pedant.

  • @Akfilm92 Check 2:15 - He definitely says "stoatily different"

  • This is the greatest show of all time. Random, trivial, wonderfully silly questions hosted by the most intelligent man in the world, and you learn and make up your own answers!

  • I've never seen a weasel, except in a zoo. So no, sorry to disappoint, weasels are not the national symbol of Croatia.

  • Rich Hall is so amazing. He sits and sits, looking mildly stoned and taking in the antics around him, then busts out a non-sequitur that has me gasping and choking with laughter for 10 minutes.

  • OMFG Allan cracks me up with his little stories =]

  • 'Are you saying the weasel is some kind of bonsai tiger?'

XD I love Bill Bailey's randomness.

I also wish people would chill the hell out about a)things that are clearly jokes and b) things the scriptwriters get wrong. It's a COMEDY show written by humans, not some omnipotent show of high-brow, all-encompassing truth, no matter what certain pedant fans have to say all over youtube. Yeah, even almighty Stephen Fry messes up. Who cares? He's still amazing, and QI is really good.

  • weasel is not our national symbol :-o ! .. how can i ever trust QI again after this >.<

  • @3Nex It was a joke. Bill was taking the piss.

  • @happyjellyfish i would hope so, but it didn't seem like it. Also, if i'm unable to recognize his jokes, who knows how many joke things i aknowledged as facts in the past >_<

  • it's not a weasel, it's a marten. and it's not the national symbol, I don't think we even have one anyway. it's the name of our currency, because marten pelts were used as currency sometime in the middle ages, and one of the animals appearing on our coat of arms, representing slavonia (on of the regions).

  • wait a minute. I'm from Croatia and I didn't know weasel was our national symbol. I didn't know we have an animal as a symbol. we do however have a few animals as symbols of different regions of the country. hmm...that's quite interesting. :-)

  • oh that was freaky..it was exactly 9 pm when he said it was 9 pm..xD

  • @joshuaptvw holy crap! I read your comment, looked at the time and BAM 8:59 pm

  • @joshuaptvw

I read your comment and looked at the clock...9 fucking pm...

  • @joshuaptvw Lol, me too.

  • @joshuaptvw

It was 10:46 pm here, anyone beat that??

  • @joshuaptvw wow your so desperate for thumbs up that you made up a lie,

  • @MrBobo9921 trololololol

  • @joshuaptvw Oh my god, I saw your comment a chuckled a bit. Then I looked at the time and it was 9 pm. I'm not laughing anymore.

  • Rich Hall is definitely the best American panelists they've had on this show. He hardly seems to know the answer, but he's not bad at giving none-sense remarks.

  • @PhilWithCoffee I just love that he looks perpetually stoned out of his mind, and will occasionally surface with a gut-bustingly hilarious non-sequitur. I'm glad he's our representative on QI.

  • @PhilWithCoffee well i think he is the only one american on QI if i'm not mistaken

  • @xradio86 Other Americans who've been on QI: John Hodgman, Reginald D Hunter and Ruby Wax (plus Barack Obama's forfeit for not knowing which president he is). They've only been on once so far though.

  • They're stoatally different, you might say.
