  • @smeghead1851

Young did NOT play all the instruments. Neil Young – guitars, piano, synthesizer, harpsichord, pipe organ, vocals Ry Cooder – guitar

Jack Nitzsche – electric piano Jim Messina – bass Carol Kaye – bass

    George Grantham – drums

    Earl Palmer – drums

Merry Clayton, Brenda Holloway, Patrice Holloway, Gloria Richetta Jones, Sherlie Matthews, Gracia Nitzsche – backing vocals

There's this magical invention called the internet. You use it to find stuff out. derr....

  • Thank you. I'll never forget hearing this. WOW. So much fun and just beautiful. Everyone I knew had to listen to this album. And it doesn't get any credit.

  • groovy

  • Thanks for posting! Its been about 20 years since i last heard this.

I had it on vinyl :-)

  • love the graphic with the film fx! really makes it come alive...

  • great tune!

  • Ry Cooder was almost killed in 1972 after he was stung by a funel belzigrub

  • 1968

  • Still sounds so alive!!!

  • neil is sooo groovy. girls are so weirddd. theres a girl on my mind right now, ooohhh yeahhhh

  • @lanomyster @FuckngBastard Yeah? A lobster transmorphagite and lobotimized retard girl, huh?

  • Actually, I like this song. Hearing it has rekindled my obsession for Neil Young songs. I'm awestruck and taken.....

    Natch.

Nelly Young is a Neanderthal transgender bearer of retard offspring.

  • His first solo album and it solidified his place in American culture, music and history...A"masterpiece", indeed...

  • still love this this after oh so many years.

  • One woman, 36 years. that's a long time now!! She's still running to me!!

  • You'll never hear this on the so called "classic rock" stations, although it should be a regular occurrence.

  • great song! David Bowie also does this song, but not as well as NYoung

  • @Marykc929 so do the pixies. you should try that version..its ace!

  • jack nietzche on piano

  • one of the greatest love songs of the 70's....this album is a masterpiece

  • This song x 1000

  • This is almost as good as that song Corduroy The Killer.

  • @Daycron66 Do you mean Cortez the Killer?

  • I enjoy The Pixies version most :)

  • this sounds like it is was from the 80's, cant beleive it was 69

  • @1m2a3t4t5 yea thinking it was new stuff lol

  • zero dislikes. duhhh

  • @destiny439207 obviously

  • Love this album and this song! I actually have both versions on vinyl.

The earlier version (that Neil recalled because he didn't like the mix) has some interesting differences.

  • Great song...☺

  • Did I forget to mention Wild Butter's version.......☺

  • best song neil ever did my opinion just my opinion !

  • This was one of Neil's best. Seems to have been lost over the years, perhaps through the bad reviews this album received.

  • genius.

  • One of Neil's Greatest, Along with Cortex THe Killer /// and Fountain Bleau ("they painted it blu") and Let It Shine. It's just too hard to get through to his agnent sorry im 2 drunk to speel chk

  • haha never heard the pixies version! my bro and I wore this vinyl down

in the mid 70's. haha. Neil !!!!!!!!!

  • Wow! I've only heard the Pixies version of this song, and this absolutely blows me away at the second I hear this. Thank you for posting!

  • @adhonus

You may also like Bowie's version on the Heathen album

    x

  • Never heard this befor...Love it! So cool! Thanks for Posting, Muah!

  • @cupcakeandme1 You have got to hear the entire LP. He was maybe 22 when he put this out. It was timeless and showed Neil to be a visionary. Note my name. It's a twist on the first song on this LP Neil Young.

  • Neil played all the instruments on this album with the exception of the string sections. He's quite the talent !

  • @smeghead1851 - that actually isn't true. jim messina played bass. george grantham and earl palmer played drums, jack nitzche played keyboards, etc, etc, etc.

  • @smeghead1851 hahaha, that's so not true!

Featured musicians include Ry Cooder, Jack Nitzche, George Grantham, Earl Palmer, Carol Kaye...so that's quite the inaccurate information!

  • @smeghead1851 wrong

  • Comment removed

  • my favorite song of all time by Neil. It just says it All that I believe in.

  • This is amazing. I've listened just recently to SO much from Neil, but here is so much more clarity of being somehow. And this from like 2 years before I was born!

  • Great song....RIP Danny Whitten.

  • @Skyman46 Danny Whitten didn't have anything to do with this song or this album. Oh, well, RIP anyway ...

  • @Skyman46 ...who didn't play on this one.

  • Thank you for posting this video! I love this song. I am also FIRST!
