  • As much as I'd love one I'm gonna hold out until it can save and has an eraser. Yes the boogie board rip can save but it needs selective eraser and maybe an undo button... Different colors would be cool too

  • Get the BB 50.3 inch today! only 399.99!

  • are there pixels in it?

  • @DanFrederiksen : The type of tablet shown here would not really have pixels, it uses a pressure sensitive bistable liquid crystal panel, the pressure you apply directly changes the state of the LC in that area, so there is no active pen/touch tracking involved.

The closest thing I can think of to compare it to is the magic/mystic writing pads often used as a toy. Gray things with layers of plastic that would stick to a dark, waxy backing when pressed/written on...

  • well it's pretty useless

    Needs undo redo feature

    and save.

  • one problem arises when one can not transfer books to the device etc.... so it renders it almost like real paper....

  • @Arakmatzu That was the point, not to make some new device, but to create a reusable piece of paper.

  • If you have a digital camera, point it at the screen and "save" a given page. Problem solved.

  • @jenkew

In multiple areas, schools, teachers; this is not allowed.

  • wait my bad it can't save

  • i think instead of using paper in class we should use this and save nots and everything this is the future

  • hm... once they get some kind of saving function put into this, it's gonna be huge!

  • @MMKursch The BoogieBoard RIP has the save function and you can also transfer notes to your cumputer.

  • So you can use this with wacom's inkling?

  • Ahh you draw a dinosaur!! << that's fucking cute!! =)

  • Hey perhaps boogie board can only use as a rough paper without saving function. I mean how is the device gonna output textures to save( especially those made with your finger depressions).

And prob they need a digitizer on screen to record information but then again that consumes power.( which must affect battery life)

Prob will take some time. In the meantime its really good for tutors and memo boards

  • I plan on purchasing one for tutoring math.

  • it is not "running" or "on". you are pushing aside liquid crystals with the stylus or your finger, etc. if you want something with saving features and the likes, get an iPad. if you think that that is too expensive, use paper...

  • This device needs only a MIcroSD slot and then two physical buttons to scroll back and forth of saved pages. Then have a erase button to create new page when pressing once and when long pressing then deleting/erasing the page.

  • I want this so bad. I usually enjoy using paper for notetaking, but I hate wasting pages for generic problem solving, for math and stuff. This could be used for that. the added size and place for the stilus makes the 10.5 version what I need. Unfortunately it seems that I cant get it without huge shipping costs...

  • @iamnorwegian good news! i just purchased this boogie board 10.5 version on amazon (you know amazon(.) com) with free shipping!! check it out if ur still thinking about purchasing one!!

  • @iamnorwegian I use mine for the exact same reasons. Not for notetaking during class, but for small calculations when I'm studying. Look at cdon.no, I bought mine from cdon.se.

  • it's possible transfer image to pc?

  • @evilripper

not yet, but they will release a new version on november 1st, which you can save your drawings and/or tranfer them to a PC with

tried it on the IFA :D

  • I though this useless...

  • @ProsperSeed

Until it gets a save function
